Surly Straggler Build Part 5 Sprocket and Chain

We are getting gritty with it now. Part 5 sees the sprocket position marked out on the HG hub. The chain is then fitted and adjusted. The dropouts on the Straggler are a work of genius really. They allow easy use as a single speed as in this video, in the future I will demonstrate how quickly you can turn this bike into a 10 speed hill crusher. I see the Straggler as 3 bikes in one. Single speed urban warrior, single or geared commuter (just add a sweet tubus rack or Porteur front rack), or an out and out gravel machine. Next up I reckon I will choose a bar, spoiler alert, its going to be a #surlycornerbar because I just have to try it out, then will chuck on some levers and plumb it up. Enjoy.
