- New station 1 (Sentrum brannstasjon) in Oslo Fire Department (Oslo brann- og redningsetat). The station opened in late May 2023, this was filmed at the beginning of June 2023.

that's not the station replacing Marienlyst. It replaces the former downtown main fire station 9

Has this new fire station 1 become the new main fire station then? We thought it was strange that fire station 9 was the main fire station in Oslo.
@@112Vlaardingen half a year ago the primary apparatus, Engine, Interior Attack Unit and Tower Ladder from station 9 and station 1 Briskeby, which was temporarily replaced by station 1 Marienlyst, were switched around. Apparatus from station 1 to station 9 and apparatus from station 9 to station 1. And now as station 9 was shut down the apparatus were moved to the new downtown fire station.
Right now there's technically no main fire station. The new large station north-east of the downtown area will become the new main fire station. It will be put together with station 6 Bryn, which is shut down already as well and is currently replaced by a temporary station 6
Thanks! There are big changes in Oslo with this station. The new station has the vehicles from Marienlyst/Briskeby (11, 12, 13). The vehicles from the main station (91, 92, 93) has moved to Briskeby. 96, 97 and the command unit will soon move to a temporary station 6 which will be the main station in the future when they have built a new station.

No, there was no sound outside. I don't think any station in Oslo has it.

@@REDNINGsStation Yes, there is a speaker infront but it wasn't on. I think they have inside speakers with only speak no tones.

Fantastic catches! Brilliant, elegant looking station, if I'm not mistaken this is *not* the replacement for the big "headquarters" station with all the specialty vehicles that has been filmed the most, correct?

Thank you! This is partly the replacement for the big main station that which after the summer will close forever and be demolished. Two units + command vehicle and administrative personel is still at the main station until end of summer, after that they will move to temporary premises until a new main station/HQ can be built. The new main station will then probably be merged with station 6 which is currently in temporary premises after their station was closed a few years ago. The plan was to build the new main station on the site of former station 6 (Bryn) but the project was stopped in the last minute and the status is now unknown.

Den körde jag förbi några gånger förra året, när den höll på byggas.
Det är ju ett betydligt trevligare läge än den gamla stationen, men tror det kommer bli en del problem med turister och besökare till restaurangen/baren mitt emot stationen.
@@EmergencyScandinavia Det är turister jag kört där förutom när jag kört tom på väg för att hämta turister. Det är populärt ställe för turister som sagt.
Är all utryckningsverksamhet flyttad till denna nya station?
Ja, den gamle sentrumsstasjonen er lagt ned nå.
Den nya stationen ersätter dock inte helt den gamla huvudbrandstationen, räddningsbilen, flakbärgaren och insatsledaren flyttas till annan station.

yes and no. It replaces former main fire station 9's response area downtown, but a new main fire station will be put together with the former and now temporary station 6 outside the downtown area

@@AustralianLightsAndSirens main fire station 9 is completly shut down already; And yes, another new station is under construction already, but they had major issues and thus have delays. This will be the new main fire station then

My wife had been there 2 days after it opened, and while she took picstures they responded to 3 different calls
Not really a fan of the station design though tbh, didn't like it from the very beginning of the architecture contest
Interesting. On this day they were not so busy, at least not in the afternoon and evening when I was there, it was just these two calls.
There are also already problems with people and cars sitting infront of the station. I saw the firemen had to tell several people to leave. There is also loud music from the restaurant/bar opposite the station, not good at all for videos.
@@EmergencyScandinavia can kind of see the stones around the frontyard being inviting for people to sit down, and maybe they have to install some traffic lights to stop traffic once the alarm goes off.
Btw I guess this won't be station 1 ... I think Smestad will remain as station 1, maybe this will be new station 9, and the new main fire station will be station 6 as it replaces the former smaller station 6 Bryn?

will probably need a automatic traffic barrier to prevent taxis and and other cars from drop off and pick up passengers in the frontyard.
@@EmergencyScandinavia probably didn't really had that in mind as the old station was kind of hidden, and like all the other stations not in plain sight of where people go to, let it be locals or tourists
