    2nd comment: great to see all the units from e.g. Oslo, Bergen, Asker etc, was able to detect most of the places you filmed at. I really like the first EVOC training vehicle in the compilation and also the older units from Oslo Fire & Rescue, like 92 and 13

      I'm glad I managed to catch that Mercedes training vehicle. However, I don't like that they turn the siren off all the time even though there is traffic ahead.
      But that seems to be the way they do it in Norway..

    • @EnjoyFirefighting

      @@EmergencyScandinavia uses that's how its trained and done in Norway. Take a look at the video I uploaded some months ago, showing the Tanker (Pod Carrier with water tank pod) from Oslo's main fire station: heavy traffic but hardly soren usage which indeed was correct in that situation. Unfortunately that's also how you miss some emergency vehicles, notice them too late etc

    I love the air horns at 3:20 and 3:34! I have the impression that air horns aren’t common in Europe. Here in the USA almost all fire trucks have them. They’re good for persuading other drivers to get out of the way.

    Kinda funny... In USA undercover cop cars are easy to extinguish, then you go to Norway and you literally cant see whats a police car or not lol or well.. i can, but only up close, usually extra bulbs in the reflectors, cameras everywhere and stuff like that, but when youre 10M or more away from one its impossible).

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting 4 роки тому +9

      there's no such thing like "police motorbike siren" ... just because the police in your country obviously chose them for police motorbikes, it doesn't make it a police motorbike siren; It's simply a plain normal siren from a German manufacturer, designed for emergency vehicles. Doesn't matter if it's used on small or large emergency vehicles, motorbikes, vans, trucks or buses, doesn't matter if it's police, EMS or Fire

      I can answer that if you're referring to the newer police vans like at 11:43. That the current standard Whelen wail tone. It's available on a lot of Whelen's current siren models. There's no way to tell what exact Whelen siren model they use unless somebody can take a close look at the vehicle and the electronics. All the Whelen software options and systems have around 65 siren tones available, be it the HHS3200 (a system that's basically for the sirens and to turn the lights on/off only), HHS4200 (which lets you control flash patterns and some other lighting options), Carbide (a hell of a system that controls everything) or the new Core with the WhelenCloud (an absolutely enormous monster of a lights & sirens system which also communicates with other emergency vehicles and cars, there's nothing better and there will be nothing comparable in the next 10 years).

    Why does Norway have so many different types of Ambulances?
    Surely a Sprinter would do the job rather than all rhe other makes of vehicles?

    • @Scythes
      @Scythes 4 роки тому +6

      Ambulances are put out on contracts. So a manufacturer that holds the contract at one point, may not get the contract next time the contract is put out every few years.
      In Norway we have three categories of ambulanses - A, B and C.
      - A: Weight under 3,5t, 4WD and automatic gearbox.
      - B: Weight over 3,5t, 2WD and automatic gearbox.
      - C: Weight over 3,5t, 4WD and automatic gearbox.
      Who has the contract differs from time to time, but sprinters (B) and crafters (C) are very common. We also have Amaroks, XC70 and XC90 etc.(A)
      Then there are paramedic, doctors and supervisors that drive cars of all sorts, often wagons.

      a Sprinter is okay, but with the low roofline and the standard Sprinter body it doesn't offer that much more space compared to Volkswagen T series with a high roofline, the Amarok with box body or the XC90 with the high-long body system

      @@Horizon301. those additional high-beams are actually pretty useful. For one they can be used in a flashing mode during emergency responses which really graps the attention, better than normal emergency lights. And then they are also used as normal high-beams in the darkness and they have a greater effect than the normal high-beams from the vehicle itself. The further you get up in the north the more useful these additional lights get. It's very common to have them in Scandinavia, not just on emergency vehicles from Fire / EMS / Police but also on private cars, trucks and so on
