We have lost such a treasure with the English language as it used to be. Who among us could express ourselves with such eloquence these days? Beautifully read.
The best of both: a great writer realized by a great voice actor. Your interpretations are priceless and I seriously think Wodehouse would heartily agree.
Thank you so much for these absolute gems from the incomparable (in my opinion), PGW. He should be required reading from schooldays onwards. The World would be a nicer, more tolerant place to live.
This is the funniest one for me. It's always hilarious when Bertie and Jeeves disagree, and Wooster trying to solve problems without the mighty brains of Jeeves 😂😂😂 Nick Martin is the best.😂
I’m loving all these Wodehouse stories Nick, listening to them over and over again while I’m cooking or painting etc. Such a joy, thank you. Can I suggest Diary of a Nobody or Three Men in a Boat? You’d do a marvellous job on those.
@@Trickynickymarts how about a chapter at a time? Have a look at Jennifer Ehle reading Pride and Prejudice a chapter at a time, mostly from her car. It was a sheer delight for me during lockdown.
Thank you very much! This is such a enjoyable story. It is always surprising to find out about Jeeves’ personal life. Also, I love the thumbnail - excellent job all round!
I ventured into the comments to see if anyone else had been moved to give appreciation to the graphics, and was most pleased to find you had, as it is quite nice.
"Honoria, you see, is one of those robust, dynamic girls with the muscles of a welterweight and a laugh like a squadron of cavalry charging over a tin bridge." 😂
Thank you. Yes, its been a while since the last one. My laptop broke and I had to get a new one and that never seems so straightforward, plus other things all taking time. Cheers
Thanks very much for these! With the possible exception of listening to a Mozart piano sonata, I can't imagine anything better than a well done PGW audio book while basking in the sunshine on a sunny summer afternoon with a glass of something cool at your side.
I also love every clever word, and the way they are put together... well I would just love PG Wodehouse. We should have a Wodehouse group. Anyone else want this group of P. G. Wodehouse?
I'm a dedicated Jonathan Cecil fan , but I am pleasantly surprised by this narrator. Haven't listened to any Hugh Fraser doing Bertie, but I love him in all the Hercule Poirot series so look forward to hearing him narrating one.

There is a Wodehouse book of three schoolboy stories one of which is The Silver Bat. If the book has been recorded can you post it? Now there is a challenge👍😳
Bertie and Jeeves are classics. The former, despite an education in which he was only marginally involved, wealth and social standing can't do much for himself. He can't think for himself or do the right thing because if the class structure. Jeeves, on the other hand, is well read, wise and thinks rationally. Today's royals, the nobility and trust babies are entitled by birth and rarely have to earn it. An exact 1" of toothpaste on Charles toothbrush indeed! Does his man do the actual brushing for him as well? Apologies to Brits who love their royals but shouldn't most of the land and wealth of the royal family be used for tge public?
Brilliant narration✊♥️👍sorry but PG Wodehouse just doesn’t sound right in an American accent! Course ♥️American literature read in appropriate accent✊♥️

Listening to you read these wonderful stories really helps the time fly, thank you Mr. Martin. Take care.
You are going to be coming to the end at this rate! I had better put another one up very soon.
@@Trickynickymarts Hooray! I am very much looking forward to your future readings!
At first I listened for the story and now I enjoy them for the exquisite languaging and the excellent narration. Many thanks from NZ.

What a treasure you are , this will be the best hour of my day , without a doubt 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Christine!
I think p.g. Wodehouse is my favorite author. The reader was fantastic.
Hilarious, such a fun story, and a little more background on Jeeves is revealed! Thank you for another masterful narration, sir!
Really enjoyable listening to these old stories of PG Woodhouse. They bring back many memories of my earlier years! Thank you.
Your reads arrive like the rains after a withering drought. Gratitudes to our Trickynicky!
Ha! Many thanks - may the grass be lush.
I never heard a more perfect , splendid reading! Thank you mr. Nick Martin! 👏🏻
How nice! Thank you, and so pleased you enjoy them.
I concur dear boy.
Nick Martin is Berkie and Jeeves 😂
I always enjoy your reading. By far the best I’ve listened to. I hope you continue to post new Wodehouse short stories! Thank you!
Thank you for that and much appreciated. I do intend to and have two lined up but they keep getting away from me!

One of the rummy things about Jeeves is that, unless you watch like a hawk, you very seldom see him come into a room.
