This brings me back to 2004 when I was in 4th grade, when one of my teachers would play smooth jazz CDs while we all worked on vocabulary homework. I would finish early, look out the window, and think about what Pokemon game I was going to play when I got home. This is such a good arrangement, somehow perfectly evokes that nostalgia
this interpretation of the song is actually a really interesting one honestly that's what sets you apart from an average arranger imo you don't just take the song and put it on some new instruments, maybe change the beat like anybody could do that, i could do that you just have to figure out notes you have an idea and you take the melody and the core of the song and mold it into that interpretation, that's what makes you an excellent arranger and you'd probably make an excellent composer too i dunno you're impressive as always Carlos, please keep inspiring us

This guy makes brand new amazing songs without losing the essential from each theme. And also he plays every instrument like a professional in all of them! All your work is absolutely amazing, but something about your Pokemon covers really stands out to me. I’d like to thank you for your advice. When you told me to transcribe and work on the things that popped out at me, I took it seriously and now I’ve been invited to the advanced jazz ensemble at my high school as a freshman. I’ve learned all my scales down and up to the point where I can play each of them in less than two seconds per scale, and honestly, my tone has improved a lot. I’ve fallen back in love with my instrument after a short time of wishing for harder music. And now I’ll be playing group one and two music regularly. So thank you.

HOW DARE YOU MAKE ONE OF MY NOSTALGIA SO MUCH... uh... I don't know. You ruined my ability to sentence because of how good this is. The nostalgia! The memories! I grew up in the GBA and DS era but I had an old GBC with a copy of Gold. Unfortunately, it's internal battery thing died and couldn't save, so this was as far as I got most days. Pokemon Heart Gold was the first game I ever spent more than fifteen minutes playing, and I loved every second of it. 15 seconds into the cover and I already have chills. My respect goes to you, man. Also, I'm not sure if this is worth commenting about or not, but your covers have given me the idea of trying out the accordion. I know it's kind of an out there instrument, but I think it's pretty fun. Once I start getting the hang of it, I plan on trying out in one of your challenges. It's pretty exciting.

Wow, this is one of my favorites yet! The sax harmonies are so warm, and I love the Birdland-esque percussion that drives the piece forward. The closing soli around 5:15 as well as the closing buildup that follows really spoke to me as well. What a really creative and original take on this melody; bravo, sir!

There were definitely moments towards the end of this arrangement where I wanted to do the cliche half-step-up modulation just to raise the energy a bit, but decided to resist and go for a different route. I don't think cliches are necessarily bad, it's just that they've gotta be used at the right time. This tune definitely has a looser concept of functional harmony, since there aren't that many ii-V's or even V to I cadences in that matter, so I'm glad you noticed!
And people wonder by HG+SS and gold and silver are my favourite pokemon games, despite starting on yellow. I used to just sit and listen to this song over and over; I could of got badges to be the best, I could of caught them all. But I just sat around taking in the tunes. This was and IS an amazing rendition; seems everything is enhanced with a Jazz arrangement :D

Plenty of people can do one or the other east enough. Not many can pull off both so well (Taylor Davis is the only other person who comes to mind right now) edit: Forgot to mention your Snake eater cover gave me the inspiration to try putting together a cover of Heavens divide that includes samples of Snake eater to form a Big boss theme.

insaneintherainmusic - Carlos Eiene That's really what makes it so impressive (that and you being able to play all these instruments so well) you managed to make it your own while still being instantly recognizeable. Plenty of people can do one or the other east enough. Not many can pull off both so well (Taylor Davis is the only other person who comes to mind right now)
edit: Forgot to mention your Snake eater cover gave me the inspiration to try putting together a cover of Heavens divide that includes samples of Snake eater to form a Big boss theme.
