I made so many analogies about yellow when thinking about him. And even now that he hates my guts he's yellow. But a different kind of yellow. The thought of him is bittersweet, like a lemon. I heard this song for the first time when my grandmother passed away in 2000. I had come back home for her funeral from living abroad. This song always reminds me of her. I have been playing the album on loop non stop for a while now and I dont think I wanna listen to anything else in the next couple weeks or even months. I just realized the best recording studios are probably in the middle of nowhere and not big cities because you can insulate all you want but you can’t manufacture silence. My house is practically silent, save for the overhead fan turning, and I realize I’ve taken for granted where I live. Silence truly is golden.
The End of the video might be the most true thing about how or why our music-scene is how it is. It was an amazing time back then. Getting signed, being put in the best studios of the country and just having time to create and really go into it. I would really give everything to get that kind of freedom with my band
