I saw them in a bar in Auckland with 10 people in the audience around this time. An industry showcase of an unknown band. They played 7 songs and said that’s all the songs we know! Chris was warm and friendly, humble and genuine. Played with them at a couple of festivals after that too. Fame didn’t change them. Down to earth nice guys.
Parachutes had a really raw sexy vibe to it. I think it reflects how the band was feeling about it at that time. They have come a long way since. Now they have to make music for a wider range of age groups since they have matured in their music as well. I think this style was good when it lasted, it was ICONIC. But even the current style is good, because they experiment and adapt. I am glad they do, because that keeps albums rolling out and tours. Which means we can still see them. Otherwise they would have died out like a lot of other bands that were on the top at around the sams time. Huge fan ✌🏼 Also one must experience their concert atleast once, it’s out of the world
Finally someone understands. Plus Coldplay has been a band where they play the music *they* want to play. That’s why I love them, they aren’t afraid to make music they enjoy, even if it means people will hate. I respect that

Back in 2000, i didn't realize how special parachutes was. Now in hindsight and with the experience of being older, i'm so fascinated with how they were able to release such brilliant and mature songs at their young age. Watching their first few performances and witnessing their creativity just blows my mind.
tbh same 😭 when I was younger in my teenage years, I don't find Parachutes appealing at all. the whole album just very gloomy and the sound itself is very slow in pace. now that I'm older, and my comprehension in English also better, I cannot separate from Parachutes at all. I keep playing the cd again and again whenever I have down time. the lyrics are so relatable in your adult life 🥲 knowing that this is what Chris and possibly the whole band as well going thru in early days, just like us. a clueless and emotional person. tbf, Chris was in dark places. looking at their latest work, the lyrics are a lot more positive and how it feels like everyday is a special day. Chris looks happier, more confidence in many aspects. I wish we all can be like him, the growth we want to be 🤍

(90's) I was familiar with Cold Play's hits that I'd hear when I was at the gym, and enjoyed their sound. However not until a friend this last year, put together a cd for me of ten of their songs. I haven't listened to anything as much as I have that disc. Love them.
My mother died and it upset me, but coldplay music was here for me, it made me go through tough times but I'm greatful for your music and the things you do for other people THANK YOU !!!
I'm watching this right after attending to one of their concerts in Mexico MOTS world tour. It's impressive what this guys have accomplished and how they keep doing magical music that touches hearts, even 23 years later. Their music is not the same and won't ever be, everything changes, time, music, people does, even them. As a coldplay fan, I can only be happy with all the band changes, they grew up and their souls too, and that is clearly reflected throughout all their discography. Long live coldplay!

This is so beautiful and probably as old as I am. 😂 I remember when I first went on UA-cam by myself as a kid lol and Rolling In The Deep by Adele as well as Coldplay's songs were the first ones I typed in and watched. Used to put on Lyric videos with my sister at night when we were small and we sang and we used a light/flash torch to imitate 'disco lights' 😂 we used to think it was so cool 😂, seems kinda pathetic now but those are still good memories, the amount of weird stuff we do as kids and only realise how weird it was when we grow up but we wish we could go back...Singers and bands like Coldplay provide such a good connection to those memories...
I miss seeing Christ strumming the rhythme like this live ! It adds a nice depth to complement Johnny's lead...you can hear it quite nicely on shiver here ! Nowadays you can hardly hear the sound of Chris's acoustic guitar when they are live
