815+HP Supercharged Chevy SS hurting feelings at Powercruise USA

- Hurting feelings is an understatement when you're rolling around in a fully loaded 815whp Sedan, AC on, and still pulling lengths on almost every modified car encountered. Today, we're featuring a car that's a bit different from our channel, a 2017 Chevy SS "Super Sleeper" from local car enthusiast Joe. This car has just as much of a modifying story as a story of how Joe acquired the car overseas while serving our country.

It’s the best looking SS on UA-cam hands down,The attention to detail is insane.
Cool car mate , it is a credit to you .
You people dont understand what a sleeper is at all. It says SS on it for one anything that sounds like that is no sleeper.

THIS is really the best looking car ong!! And it's my favorite model year
As Holden Special Vehicles used as a slogan; I JUST WANT ONE!!!!! As an Aussie, we are still mourning their passing here in Oz. I wish USA got the HSV versions. Harrop and Walkinshaw's special vehicles did some incredible mods to these cars. Glad you get to enjoy what we had for so many years. And I just LOVE you have the Aussie Lion badge on it. You should be very proud of the car mate. Look after her.
Yeah i can't believe people kept saying the Stinger was just as good as a stonking behemoth fire breathing V8 lol
This car is lit
@@DEVILTAZ35 To be honest, the Stinger is a really good car and I do own a VF2 Motorsport Edition.
Well said! I love how our brothers from down under are so into cars. I didn't always realize that. You guys do it right down there!
Oh, the looks one would get if seen and heard driving a Bathurst edition on the US side. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
As a former worker at holdens elizabeth, south australia plant for 15 years(2001 to 2016) i was proud to see our product go to other countries such as the pontiac GTO and G8, and the chevy ss. Also loving the rep of the holden badge. We are still devastated here that our national icon is gone but believe me, they arent missing from the roads. Enjoy!
I had to venture North past Grand Junction Road for work the other week and V8 Commodores are everywhere. Meanwhile in my area I rarely see any.
You can thank Gough Whitlam (Lima Declaration) and the trade union movement for the death of Oz manufacturing.
@@garethwest9069 lol wtf? Joe Cockeye & the liberals killed Holden.
The cops are taking over one of the factories. Im pretty sure that there's another vehicle company planning to take over at least 2 more factories
@@greatest_bumble_bee_dude Any idea what they intend to use it for?
Great car. I worked at a Chevy store when they rolled out the SS. We didnt get too many, and they all came loaded in either auto or stick. Sticker price was around $50k, but Chevy did some 20% off promos so you could get one for $40k, an absolute steal for a car that could eat BMWs and the like for lunch, and had better tech besides. Destined to be a highly desirable collector.
Better tech than a BMW. Lol
Keep dreaming.
@@gibby5335 No, not dreaming, but you are a clueless beemer fanboy.

From one SS owner to another, welcome to heaven on earth.
It was great listening to the excitement coming from your voice as you're describing your experience of gaining one of the best cars ever built.
Tears shed for Holden/HSV in the far north. Rest assured the legends you built will prowl the streets for a long time to come.
That’s a beautiful example of an American taking an Aussie machine to the next level.💪
Thank you! 😁
Chevy is American though
@@MayorMcheese12 it’s an Aussie built Holden Commodore that was exported to the US as a Chevy SS.
Next level? That's just a normal commie in NZ and Aussie😂😂😂
It makes me laugh that he's put the Holden badges back on, while it was a trend over here to put bow ties on commodores.
Lol, just proof the grass looks greener on the other side. But you know I can totally understand that. I bet you guys down under do that to alotta Holden's. But be proud of what you guys have done. We here in the states wouldn't have the SS Impala OR the GTO if it weren't for Holden.
@@wadebradley7388 Cheers man, we really did have some great engineers and a great culture until we got totally screwed out of it.
I mean, you wouldn't have the C8 Corvette or the current Camaro if not for the VE Commodore platform... Which the Victorian tax payers paid for developing AND the tooling to export the Caprice in LHD for the cops. The mid engine vette wouldn't have been plausible if they didn't use the VE.
I'm not bitter about it or anything... OK maybe a little.
We deserve a C8 and Camaro with the steering wheel on the correct side of the car that isn't three times the price. Seems like a small consolation
@@C.Fecteau-AU-MJ13 I agree brother. I did mention what you just said about the Camaro in another reply to this vid. I said we wouldn't have the Camaro if it weren't for the platform the GTO came on. I suddenly can't recall the name you guys had for the GTO. But we still love the GTO, I live in Macon Georgia, about 80 miles south of Atlanta. And there's plenty of GTOs here in my city I saw one yesterday, actually heard it first. You can't mistake the sound of a LS with a stick behind it slowing to a stop. It's a head turner. Lol. Can I ask what happened, did the Holden plant close or something, seems I remember reading something like that. But I'm 55 and my memory isn't what it was. But definitely we have you guys to thank for ALL of our latest performance cars. Holden and it's incredible engineers have made it easy for a platform or a finished car to come over here with a slightly different nose and rebadged as a bowtie. Wod you please tell me more about the police car you guys developed and what it has to do with the current Corvette. That sounds like an amazing history lesson for all of us. We know you guys down under LOVE your V8 supercars. I watch the Australian V8 Supercar championship every time it comes on. So I can see Australian/American V8 cars compete against Europe's finest. It's a great series! I must say brother, were incredibly sorry for what our "appointed" president has done. We are so so thankful NOONE thus far has blamed us personally. Hopefully enough states have passed laws to prevent what happened in 2020 won't happen again. Just the other day my state Georgia came out with a report that said 43,000 illegal votes were counted. That was well more than enough to win the state of Georgia. Arizona has just cometed a more intensive investigation and found the same situation. We don't yet know the details. But there was foul play for sure. Hopefully we will have Trump or someone else besides someone like potato head joe! This shebacle in Afghanistan has cut us Americans way deep to. The only person it doesn't seem to bother is joe himself . Anyways sorry I went so off topic. Tell me more about what went wrong and the platform for the police car and how it helped with the C8. I'd love to hear it! Thanks my brother!
You're still allowed to watch UA-cam from there?
@@twiztid6977420 Sort of.

Cheers from Elizabeth in South Australia 👍 I come from a family who has always had at least one member work for Holden at any given point in time even as far back before they manufactured car's right up to the day they closed. I am getting ready to sell my gto and either get another one with low miles or been thinking about an SS. They have held their value it’s hard to find one under 35k for decent miles but what an awesome car.
Ive wanted one since chevy released these. i like the practicality of sedans so ive been watching the prices since like 2015. Ever since the first couple used ones starting popping up, these cars have been ridiculously overpriced. Never seen one in person, no clue who actually buys these, but yet a car that was $44k new in 2015 is still going for $40k with 80,000 miles.

Prices have always been high for this car. The decision to make this car thousands of miles outside of the US is why it flopped.
@@marcusharris113 It didn't flop, they sold every single unit they had to. GM had an agreement with Holden to sell 12,000 for them in the U.S. over four years, which they did.
