Cheers from Elizabeth in South Australia 👍 I come from a family who has always had at least one member work for Holden at any given point in time even as far back before they manufactured car's right up to the day they closed. They started out in Adelaide as HOLDEN and FROST in around 1856 as a saddlery and coach builder . They built there first car body in 1914. Just a gorgeous car. Really like what he’s done to it. Wouldn’t change anything. I am getting ready to sell my gto and either get another one with low miles or been thinking about an SS. They have held their value it’s hard to find one under 35k for decent miles but what an awesome car.
Ive wanted one since chevy released these. i like the practicality of sedans so ive been watching the prices since like 2015. Ever since the first couple used ones starting popping up, these cars have been ridiculously overpriced. Never seen one in person, no clue who actually buys these, but yet a car that was $44k new in 2015 is still going for $40k with 80,000 miles. The prices have actually been pretty stable at $32k-45k over the past 5 years, but the miles continue to go up. Good luck finding one man. Check out the pontiac g8 gxp
It's cheaper to get a g8 GXP (not by much) or even to manual swap a regular g8 gt. The used market for the SS is insane and good luck finding a manual.
@ Paulie Walnuts That’s so true man. Rarely ever see them. I actually saw one of the orange ones last week downtown here when I was on lunch. I was staring like I saw a unicorn. Definitely uncommon. 6 months later and I still don’t have one. Of course everything just keeps going up now. Having to replace my transmission on my gto next month so after that I’ll be selling. But the SS’s are still more than I want to spend so idk what I’m gonna do for now.
Well done Sir for putting her true badges back on. Lots of folks over here have molested their Holdens and put Chevy badges on but it looks so much better with the mighty lion badges

@@marcusharris113 It didn't flop, they sold every single unit they had to. GM had an agreement with Holden to sell 12,000 for them in the U.S. over four years, which they did. That's also why they never marketed the car, they didn't care. They were just going to honor that agreement, nothing more nothing less
Such a beautiful car. I’m an Aussie and love the American cars especially muscle cars. You guys have got some great and hot cars and are so lucky to have them. Saying that I’m a Holden guy, always have been and it’s wonderful to see how many of you guys appreciate our cars from down here. The Holden commodore were awesome and the statesman and caprice are a long wheel base of the commodore and are the luxury version. I’ve got a 2007 caprice 6.0l and love it. I heard the police over there somewhere imported the caprice for there cruisers, not sure where though. Again I’m glad to see our cars appreciated so much from around the world, it’s a great pity that GM didn’t have the same appreciation and scraped them for good.

As the owner of a 2017 NITEFALL GREY 6MT...gotta say, the car is a blast. Mine is stock, save for a K&N, so it's nothing like this beast. Love the car, Brother...and thanks for your Service, from a greatful American.
That deployment money seems well spent! Congrats and thanks for your service
Thank you!
I don't usually watch these kinds of vids,But this Car Was a Eye catcher.Pretty cool He designed it from so far away.Tell Him Thank you for His Service Please! This Guy should do more cars!
Anyway it's soul crushing that it's gone forever and it's really cool to see such a fine example of one of our big banger's abroad. I'm really impressed how your displaying the lion, RESPECT brother 👍👍 Look after the big girl she's a modern day classic now. Nice weapon mate.
Appreciate it! I'll take care of her, don't worry 👍
I have a 40th anniversary GTO, it has "builder/technician tag" plates in a couple spots..
@@bigharrykochenbauls4567 Awesome ! From what I've heard they didn't seem to be as popular in the state's for some reason but here they were badged as MONARO, which was paying homage to our classic muscle cars of the 60's and 70's and these later one's, they were bought and still driven with great pride. To have a 40th anniversary edition is super cool,, a lot of people here would cut off a limb to have what ya got there mate. Happy and safe motoring.👍👍
I'll bet the majority of workers at the Holden plant voted ALP, too. smh
Awesome, i'm an ex employee of GM holdens Elizabeth operations in Australia. That car was a pleasure to build for you. You have done the car proud it looks and sounds amazing.
These are rare in my neck of the woods ( New England ).
Great build/car!
I love your passion for your car and how you turned it into an Australian car. A video of you first seeing it for the first time would be cool to see. 👍
Thanks for your service! Sick car I want one!
Thank you 🤙
This was the slogan of holdens HSV's range (just a hotted up ss) "I JUST WANT ONE"
It's got a Corvette motor, Chevy's got a crazy following, a lot of support!!!
Thanks for your service, sick sick sick car and mods im like speechless!!!
Thank you!
With much respect! Thank you for your service! You deserve this car!
He sounds like a nice fella. I'm happy for him.
So Mustang owner here, this car looks and sounds amazing! Have fun and be safe.
Great to see a Commodore over seas with a Holden badge on it, looks great
That's awesome. And hearing your reason and why you bought the car and how you did the lights was even cooler. I know you hear too often, but thank you for your service.
As an Aussie this was such a great story to watch and you told it so well..
You're right mate. 😉
That is a cool car and great build. It's original and unique. I'm sure it's a crowd pleaser at car meets.
This is one of the cleanest rides I've seen. You've done an excellent job. Damn !!!
Such a clean and tidy unit 💕💕
The car screams out "don't you dare under estimate me"
That’s clean man ! Congrats on the build nice sleeper that’s not in your face but will gap you
I have a 1969 ht monaro gts with a 307 chev and a 4 speed saginaw, i love it. Welcome to the club.
@@pauliewalnuts240 prices going up here in Australia too since they stopped production
It's cheaper to get a g8 GXP (not by much) or even to manual swap a regular g8 gt. The used market for the SS is insane and good luck finding a manual.

That’s so true man.
Loved hearing the story behind this absolute unit!!! I love undercover sleeper stuff like this
Air Asset to the blackhawks. Yeah I caught that bro. Real deal dude!!!!💯💪🏿👍🏿✊🏿🤟🏿✌🏿🔥💰
Thanks homie 🤘
its def a future dream car for me
Well done Sir for putting her true badges back on. Lots of folks over here have molested their Holdens and put Chevy badges on but it looks so much better with the mighty lion badges
Up the Mighty Aussie Holdens 👌👌👌 I got 1 of the last vf GTSR and just pulled the LSA motor pulled out and put a DART427 with a kong2650 running E85+water/meth injection hopping to make over 1000hp to the wheels
What a fucking animal of a car dude!
I’m saving up for a maloo 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
@toe the line nah Bud it now will be 1 of 1 the only 7L GTSR in the world and the only 1000+hp in the world and when I drag race it it will be the fastest GTSR in the world 🌎 but think what u want I’m okay with that 😎
Def 1000+
I grew up in Elizabeth, South Australia. For a few years I lived 400 metres (1/4 Mile) from the Plant, went by on its Last day, A lot of fans out the front with Classic Holden’s and Modern Beasts like this.
This is is a Sick build
There’s an all white Holden badged SS here in San Diego that rips around here
Awesome vid. What a beauty. Stoked to see her with the Holden logos. Great job! Cheers from Australia.
simple and clean!!!! Love it
You served with pride , enjoy your ride.......thanks for your service 🇨🇦🇺🇸
Send this man an Aussie citizenship
Dude passes one of the hoops.🦘🇭🇲👍
Glad your enjoying you Holden its a beast i cant believe we dont make em anymore
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS CAR SIR!!
got one also.. I need to find out what number in production mine is. 😉😀
Geeze, I'm glad the guy made it home safely.
Great car. Thanks!
Hell yeah man! Nice move from the BMW! I wish I would have gotten one before all the prices skyrocketed
Thanks man! I miss that E39 sometimes but this SS is just too fun.
Prices have always been high for this car. The decision to make this car thousands of miles outside of the US is why it flopped.
Thank you for your service we live you in GA! Congratulations with the SS, truly a unique badass ride!
Correction Joe. It's a Holden Commodore otherwise known as a Chevy SS! It started out as a Holden Commodore, then repurposed for the USA market.
It's a Holden Commodore otherwise known as a Vauxhall vxr8 in uk otherwise known as a Chevy SS!
@@smokii3789 its a fkn commodore. Built in straya.

@@smokii3789 You are right in export progression lineage. But USA video so from AU to USA.
Welcome home and thank you for you’re service . What an awesome super car . Enjoy and stay safe .🇺🇸
As someone who has no interest in "muscle", it's nice to see a tastefully modded SS with the Holden transfer. Nice work.
Thank you!
Put a forced induction interchiller like I did on my GTO. That will keep your engine temps way down.
rubbish
This dude could be a UA-cam personality! Solid on camera delivery for a random car enthusiast
Thank you so much! I would love to do some car based UA-cam content, but things never quite worked out that way. Appreciate the comment and wish you the very best
This guy is genuine and good karma has been placed on him for it.
That's an awesome Chevy...
Thank you for your service as well!
Salute...
Great video. Love the passion and appreciation of an Aussie icon. From Down Under in Brisbane
Thank you for your service sir!
That car is sick. I like that simple look to it. Simple and clean looking.
Bad ass car dude. work hard play hard. Thanks for your service
I love how you have the Holden badge. Respect to you sir.
My relative has two. I know at least one has the Holden badges in it. When it's parked outside his office, people are always trying to figure out what they are looking at😂.
As an Aussie. Well done on getting the original badges and software. Really nice work mate. She's a beauty
I have a white stock 2017 SS, manual, with the only two options - sunroof and full size alloy spare tire. I like what you have done with your SS. It is a great looking car and quite rare. I love just tooling along listening to that 6.2L LS-3 V8. I wanted the manual and finally found a new one via the internet at a Texas dealer, and had them ship it to my home in Florida.
Stunning car , miss my SS like crazy and watching this makes me miss it even more . You sound like an awesome bloke mate and on the other side of the planet yet still a proud owner which eases the pain a little. Enjoy your banger bro
You should buy another !
@@CurtisLSA There price has gone through the roof, but eased a little of late
It's always the 1 off vehicle models that are the best to see and respect. Just don't see them everyday. Or at all. Very cool man. Badass car.
No more Holdens being built. You have a fine investment on your hands with that ss.
I love how he put the Holden Badges on it... takes me back to living in Australia and getting to soak up their car culture down there.
