I've learned quite a bit watching your videos' over the last 3 and 4 years. Still learning and loving it.
Pete up early!! Love your videos and strive to be like you!
Great job, Pete. I use TeeJet's guide as a reference to get me close with my backpack sprayers and then calibrate from there. I'm proud of you Brother!
Pete, have you thrown down any fert yet this year. I’m thinking about a light spray soon. Fescue has a little color coming into it here in Kentucky
i am planingt to this week
Are you calibrated at the 1 gallon per 1000 rate when you are doing your blanket spraying? Like doing your pre and post mix? Most ride on sprayers are at 1/3 gallon per thousand. At a full gallon per thousand, you will have to be filling back up a lot. Just curious.
Love the new Pro Pete channel!! Do you sell a TurfWare machine with a Coyote and Whipple supercharger on it?? I have a large lawn and that would help me get it done quick.
the 460XL would be plenty... put a Whipple would be nice for sure LOL
Great explanation, thx Pete
Question Mr. Pete: Once you get everything dialed in and calibrated to your liking will anything change when spraying thicker products vs. thinner products? Is spraying water vs. spraying Molasses make any difference? Thank you sir for all your teaching.
Actually that would make a difference if you were spraying that and that only which that isn’t gonna happen with molasses lol! If you were spraying straight fertilizer or any product straight not mixed with water then the solution density would change the calibration and you would need to know the pounds per gallon! Water is 8.34 pounds per gallon 😉! Also if you are adding in a huge amount of product with very little carrier volume then it could potentially change your calibration a little! Me or you wouldn’t be smart enough to figure that out though SUCKA🤣🤣
Flip lever on the handle with adjustable thum screw to limit speed then just flip up to go full speed works on my setup.
They need to add some sort of adjustable throttle stoppage so you could have accurate speed all the time
This makes me miss operating a z spray and toro greens sprayer.
How are you unable to get the full gallon per 1000 sq ft in 15 seconds with a 7 gallon per min pump?
@adog3336 A pump capable of producing 7 gallons per min should have zero problem producing a gallon in 15 seconds... 15 seconds x 4 Equals 60 seconds aka 1 min so that would mean in a min with that pump maxed out "7 gallon per min" it should give you 7 gallons which would be closer to 2 gallons per thousand. Therefore the 120oz " 8 oz short of a gallon" per 15 seconds doesn't add up atleast in my head
@@tdougiefresh1506 pressure can be adjusted... also have to consider drag and friction inside all the hoses. Just because you have a 7gpm pump does not always equal getting a true 7gmp at the end of hose or boom.
@@GCITurf but you said you had the pressure maxed out in the video shouldn't you still be able to get more out of it even with the drag and friction you should lose almost half of your rated gallons per min I wouldn't think but what do I know I'm an amateur your the pro just trying to understand thanks for the video though God bless
Have you mowed your lawn this year??
not yet
First!
I am a certified applicator with over 40 years experience in the ag-turf application business. If understood you correctly, you stated that you measured a 12ft. coverage width with your 5x20" nozzle boom. This is completely wrong! Your boom width of coverage is 5 x 20" which is 8.34 ft. I agree with your method otherwise, but your width measurement is way off thus your gal/1000sqft will be less than your target and you'll be getting stripes between your passes that are not treated properly.
He literally measured the pattern with a tape measure 11:03 12ft. Not including the overlapping
@@grigglawncare5338 That is not the proper way. It’s number of nozzles X spacing. 5 x 20”= 100” = 8.34ft. All that extra “perceived” width is not fully covered. Nozzles are made to overlap 100%.
Woohoo. I’m view #22
