- This is the post video of my "rocket wheelie!" Video. I do a walk around of this beautiful power cruiser and give you some tech specs of what makes this British machine ROCKET!!!
I ride a Harley and i used to have a different Harley and a Ninja 250 at the same time. Bottom line, a REAL buddy will ride with you no matter what you are riding. The Rocket 3 is a beautiful bike and that engine is a work of art. Ride what makes you happy, not everyone else.
Dont sell it, the Harley riders wont keep up anyway. Just meet them there lol. I love my R3R great bikes. Enjoy it. Cheers.

I LOVE your channel man!!!! I own a 2016 Rocket Roadster and a 2017 Thruxton R with all the goodies. In 2016 Triumph upped the Rocket in a big way as far as stock HP and Torque. Mine is stock and completely insane from the factory! Cheers man and again, Best channel on UA-cam!!!!

Been looking at a lot of your videos...looking to do very similar things with my 2012 triumph rocket 3 wherein I already have a RAMAIR filter with a custom filter cover that funnels air in. I was curious though of when you added the carpenter pipes and the power commander, did those changes drastically alter the rocket III from being something you can still reasonable cruise around in or at that point has it become effectively just a short range / drag bike?
I could give a crap if my Harley friends don't want to ride with my Rocket in their midst!! Here in CT the Harley guys really dig the Rocket because it's different and NOT Japanese. With the normal Harley idiots, I just blast past them 30 at a time!!! Great video 5UP and don't lose the rocket! 2018 is the last and they are pulling the plug! Rocket no more in 2019..... Bean counters win at Triumph and they axed the Rocket Completely.....
wow I did not hear that about them getting rid of the rocket. I've heard that they have a all new bike coming out in 2019
I have 2 Triumph dealers here in CT that both said the bike is not on the order books for 2019. One dealer visits the factory 3 times a year and said the "bean counters" hate the Rocket because it's a poor selling, niche market bike. Triumph has also killed off everything except for the Triples and Bonneville based lineup of bikes. Triumph is partnered with a company in India to make small, 125 and 250cc bonnevilles for the Asian market. The US is Triumphs #1 buyer right now. Their market research has determined that only 3% of Americans ride bikes whereas, 85% of the people in asian countries ride motorcycles. You know...you read the news in India...." Motorcycle hits telephone pole, 10 killed" or "Moped tips over, 15 injured". That's the target for Triumph. The Enfield is made there also. My Rocket was a left over late 2016 model that I bought in the fall of 2017 and he knocked $6000 off the price for me. Both dealers are glad to see it disappear because to be a Triumph dealer they have to take the entire lineup when the order bikes! They both said the Rocket sits a long time.
At the Triumph Speedmaster launch here in England recently. Word on the street...they're going to make a 2500cc Rocket 3. That's what I heard. Whether it happens, who knows? Great bike! Keep riding it!
Richard Young yes I've heard a lot different rumors and speculations I just hope is a very modern bike that is going to keep up with the Joneses in electronics

Why he didn't do tune without PC5 ? I did 210kit but bike is not tuned properly graph is weird, line going little bit up than all the way down than again up....
Great video. I have same stripe 2016 year. I was told they aint making them no more. Funny that. There still selling them and now you talk of the upgrades. Although i am glad they haven't stopped. I am pissd they lied to me. I had 2 Triumphs. Tiger 8 and Sprint GT, SE. I loved them both. But compromised for the misses. She wants to be lower down and i like long rides. So now i just have the rocket. I do push it to far occasionally and jump when i touches down. The bike handles well and its still on its tread at that point. Nothing to worrie about at all. I just have no idea when it does run out. But there is plenty of footrest to wear away yet. I think emissions may of been the issue, But if the demands still there, Triumph will continue and have resolved that issue. Safe riding.
Phil Bailey thank you for viewing I love this bike. I do hear that in 2018 or 19 it will be a whole new bike they're just getting rid of old stock up to 2017.

Neville Lush Racing in Adelaide Australia has cracked the rev limiter issue…… according to a bloke with exactly the same bike and very similar engine work, he runs his bike past 8.5k rpm no problem. BTW.. his dyno sheet reads 203hp with 179 torque at the rear wheel.
I am interested in purchasing a 2018 Rocket 3 but I am worried about wind buffering. What is it like to ride on a highway with it? Thank you for your great video.
It's not that bad the fly screen helps take away by the wind off of your chest but it's about the amount of when drag you get with a naked bike.
Who cares if harley guys wont ride with you, make your own trail. I have the same issue with my raider, but i love all the hate. That triumph is dumb fast and is so exciting to see at bike events. Long term reliability should be interesting
Reliability because it's so tuned up?
I've had no issues with it since the engine work has been done due to it making more horsepower

Cool Video! I have a 2008 Rocket mostly stock. Great bike, but......I've been eyeballing the Carpenter Racing package and looking at Turbo Chargers....

After 4 years, there's ZERO reliability issues.....it's perfect in every way.......and the handling and power? Ridiculous!!
My other bike...a 2002 CBR1100XX in showroom condition with less than 5000 miles? That should answer questions as to which I favor😂😂

tiopirata2 currently tuneboy is of no help for the 2014 and newer to extend the rev limiter so I am working on some other stuff with another tuner

Rina Bowen not anymore. I had it listed for $16k but triumph is selling for less than that. so with $30k invested I decided to keep unless someone offered me good $ for it. thanks for viewing.

Seem like a good guy but I am not sure why you wanted 232 hp? Do you take it to the drag strip? Land speed racing? I had a 200 rw hp Kawasaki that I did land speed racing with but that kind of hp is difficult to manage on the street wouldn't you agree? That much hp make things happen like you are in warp drive when cracking the throttle. If you are very disciplined (not me) then I guess 232 that would be okay, but I am not so I sold mine.
Jerry Adams I actually do occasionally take it to the drag strip I have been low tens with that bike now with bags on it. But the majority of my super bikes are all over 200 rear wheel horse which is very easy to achieve these days I enjoyed the horsepower very much that's why I did it.
I also have a Carpenter Rocket and yes, it does go to the drag strip. Honestly, no BS, the R3 with the 265 kit is just as easy to control as the stock bike. The torque at 2-4k is only slightly below (at 2k) and above (at 4k) the stock bike, so its very very easy to ride. Just have to be conscious of the fact that if you twist the throttle anywhere towards the stop you're going for a ride, so pick your location (and run off space) carefully! i commute on mine, recently, having done so in the 30s and low 40s weather in the rain, no issues controlling it.

I had one too .... oh yeah, for 3 years, a new one, from 2012 till 2015 ... untill a stupid wife looking at her GPS did not see a STOP sign and did smash into me (riding at 50 km/h at that moment because the law is the law) ..... I am just happy I was riding at 50 and not 100, just full fo bruises I was after that, nothing broken ......
But the bike was considered broken because the little blue screw you have on the right side of the engine ( by the way why did you put that special one on ? normally it is just a little screw for acceeding the belt .... ) was totally broken because the right crash bar did totally fold and hit it ... engine broken ....

There is a way to spin the motor over 7k, PM claviger (me) on the forum for more info. Its a custom TuneECU tune that allows 2014+ Roadsters to spin to 8000.

tough on that big motor and transmission expecting it to be reliable at 9000 plus revs........might be better to cam and supercharge it to 7000 revs.....highly impressive though
UnkyGrey transmission is huge on the bike gears are big enough for a 3000 pound car. Not too worried about the revs either. Carpenter has been doing this for a long time and those bikes are not falling apart the Tramp 2.3 is a very well-built engine

That's why-they ride Harleys and can't bee seen with other makes. They won't say it to your face but some will. Plus if you need some one else to ride with you-you should stop riding bikes. I ride by myself every where and am having a blast. And it's safer, you get to ride longer between stops and you don't have to put up with all the B.S. If you have to ride with the H.D.boys-you'll have to get a H.D. It's just that way unfortunately.

Keep this bike and put 93 octane fuel in from Mobile or Shell if you can find it.
They are not your friends if they will not ride with you. I would not sell it if I was you. Keep it and ride it.
6 gears on a rocket 3 is stupid. 3 would be enough with that torque.
The gear ratios on the 2nd gen are much more favorable then my 5 spd 1st gen. The 240 rwhp 1st gen runs out of gear to quickly at top speed.

The dealership only has access to tune files for exhaust modifications that can be Factory or dealer installed. But now tune boy has unlocked for Carpenter on the 2014 in later rocket another thousand RPMs. Which will be great

And why is the you need somebody to ride with you I like to ride by myself I don't like nobody occasionally every now and then my wife go with me I have the Rocket 3 205 and also I have a Honda Goldwing 2003
Because it's more enjoyable for me I ride every day by myself to and from work. Just a personal preference sir
