- Welcome back to this feature on Tech Defense Channel, This feature discusses the Embraer A 92 Super Tucano.
The prototype of the Super Tucano first flew in 1992. Both Tucano and Super Tucano were developed by Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace and defense company. Embraer manufactures the aircraft in Brazil and also partnered with Sierra Nevada Corporation, to produce the aircraft in the United States for export customers. In addition to basic and advanced pilot training, the main missions of the aircraft are border patrol and counter-insurgency operations.

I remember the FAB doing exercises in the Amazon and only 2 A-29s in full AAM configuration(simulating use of double underwing pylons) were enough to shoot down 12 MI-35s, with no chance for the helicopters in a combat simulation repeated several times. 12x0 12x0 12x0

@@user-tm4rz2jp8z Brazil does not have AH64s, it would have to do this training in a multinational exercise, and I have no information if in the recent exercise among Marines UNITAS LXIII there was participation of A-29s against American AH-1Zs.
@@ceciliaieav Спасибо, понял. Я считаю, что в современной войне роль таких самолётов, как Тукано, будет возрастать. Как показывает сейчас война на Украине, боевые действия ствия очень часто ведутся именно методами "партизанской войны". А именно: малыми группами, скрытно, с использованием переносных противотанковых и зенитных средств, при поддержке беспилотников и под прикрытием деревьев. Полноразмерная, сверхзвуковая пилотируемая авиация над полем боя почти отсутствует. Современные переносные и дальнобойные стационарные зенитные средства не позволяют ни одной из сторон достичь превосходсва в воздухе. Над полем боевых действий господствуют маленькие беспилотники и беспилотники, близкие по размерам к истребителям Второй Мировой Войны. А-29 как раз близок именно к таким, но на современном уровне вооружения и силовой установки! Украинский МИГ-29 сбил беспилотник ( похожий на "Байрактар"), но из-за большой скорости врезался в его обломки и был разрушен (пилот катапультировался). Стало понятно, что скоростные машины не могут сбивать беспилотники. А-29 сможет! Поэтому важно всесторонне изучить и усовершенствовать тактику его применения.
Сообщают, что Украина получает А-29. Посмотрим, как он себя покажет на реальной войне. ан-64 на Украине пока нет.

The A - 29 Super Tucano is brazilian and was designed by the hungarian Joseph Kovacz, a world famous aircraft designer.
The panel eletronic is from Israel.
The engine is from the United States factory Pratt - Whitney, with 1600 hp.
This plane has electronic devices for almost everything.
It's a mix of Brazil, Israel and United States technology.
Embraer is the brazilian air force maker, but it became private since 1994.
There's several investors in Embraer and the four biggest investors are Brandes Investment Partners (US, 14,4%), Mondrian Investment Partners (United Kingdon, 10,1%), BNDESPar (Brazil, 5,4%) and the Blackrock (US; 5,0%).
That explain why US and United kingdom armies are using the Super Tucano at their aeronautics.
Acho que se equivocou, o P-40 não era um top de linha na sua época. Era um caça mediano, não muito veloz e não muito manobrável... apesar de bem construído. O A-29 inclusive é mais veloz que um P-40, pois consegue atingir 600 km/h e o P-40 não.

É um ótimo avião de treinamento e também pra ataque ao solo à curta distância, muito bom para paises que tem priblemas com trafico de drogas, no Brasil nós o usamos muito para derrubar aviões com carregamentos de cocaína na fronteira com os outros países. Além de tudo, ele está se popularizando pelo mundo por ter uma hora de vôo extremamente barata, tanto que os Estados Unidos e agora um país da Otan já comprou alguns

feels bad the ukranians couldn't get them, it would not be a war changing but a-29 is intuitive, straight forward and low fuel consumption aircraft wich would save on long term expenses.

The Super Tucano may be better suited for counter insurgency operations rather than a war where the Russians are armed with SAM systems such as SA-10, SA-11 etc. In the first Gulf War US OV-10's had to be pulled from front line service due to missile threat even though they had air superiority.
Brazil is a neutral country. Weapon exports for any or both sides are completely out.

Nice video! Between 1´59” and 2´17” it´s not the Super Tucano. This part of the video shows an agricultural plane dressed up like an warrior and pretending to be one.
