Welcome to our channel. All the weapon systems are like books, and they tell us their stories. The Weapon Detective investigates these books, reads between the lines, analyses them, and tells the untold. At the dawn of the Second Cold War, the fruits of new projects give us clues about the future. But current weapon systems also have their own stories. In our videos, you can find technical information, historical backgrounds, what happened during the development processes, combat experience and political projection. While the Second Cold War is rising, Let's investigate the weapons together.

Hi, I enjoyed watching your videos. May I suggest the speed for wordings and specs be increased, or better still just present them immediately, rather than type them out alphabet by alphabet because they are lagging your voice. Thanks.
The world's most practical, cost-effective aircraft.
None of the bullshit maintenance, all of the goodies like smart munitions, IR and targeting.
@@user-kr1di7bx1g predator and reaper cost like 6 super tucanos and do less for the price.. turkish drones maybe far better option.
@@user-kr1di7bx1g you mentioned the reaper that is 64 million. the MQ does not has the capabilities that a supertucano has. and the price of the mq DOES NOT INCLUDE THE COMAND CENTER needed for its operation.. i think the one that has to study the material is you :).
@@user-kr1di7bx1g by the way a super tucano is arround 9-18 M that contract surely includes more than the plane.. like long term maintenance and flight simulators
@@user-kr1di7bx1g hey bother supertucano is cheeper, more reliable, with far more capacity and armament than a mq-9. mq9 cannot compete in any category with a super tucano. not even in flight hour cost, weapons capacity etc. the real competitor to super tucano is the reaper.. but it costs 6 times more 64 million a piece!. and can be hacked like Iran did. supertucano is superior!!! accept it!.
I have enjoyed the Brazil Esquadrilha da Fumaça (Smoke Squadron) exhibition flights several times during my trips to Brazil, they always put on a good show.
Now that my country Philippines have the Tucano, our pilots will add more to the excellent combat records this aircraft has with our usual insurgent groups down south.
Would have been nice to have a healthy number of Super Tucano's in the USAF. Fantastic aircraft for low intensity fights.

Brilliant plane. Can be fitted with quite advanced sensors and weapons. And operate from primitive air fields. And it got an impressive loiter time. About 3 times more than an Apache helicopter.

This super tucano was original design to ground attack and anti attack helicopter and also they can carry air to air missiles
@@user-kr1di7bx1g You forget the MK1 eyeballs.. I'll much rather have this supporting me on the ground, than some drone.

Amazing info in this video. Now this is an effective attack aircraft for its role.
Of all my time on youtube i hardly found two non nationist channels that put the information out like it deserved to be put out. This is one of them 🙏🤲🙌.
Most people on internet have got such big ego and forgo logic - such a shame. Find a weapon system for the role - for heaven's sake 🙂
I hope no one mistakes something that the powers noted after the II World War: not everything needs expensive, top-notch technologies. Most of these "little wars" around the world aren't against Soviet Unions.

Thanks for this good re-voiced video. Keep making new and good videos
and importantly too due to its stately pace, you can get great photos of the opposition as their body parts twirl gracefully through the air, after you hit them, innit !! excellent !!
In my humble opinion, as rightly mentioned in the info motion feature, the air-superiority achieved through swarming tactics deploying smaller aircrafts in variable mission programs, addressing both surface and air based threats, on a theoretical note, does seem an economical and effective tactical solution for a combat aviation operator deploying limited fleet and equipment cache for small to medium scale conventional warfare. However, a scaled up scenario with 4+ generation aerial combat platforms and advanced satellite network based surface to air defense systems in the foray, the effectiveness of such a swarming tactic would demand an overwhelmingly differentiated approach; not to mention, a formatively new set of avionics and advanced aerial combat assistance systems. If hypothetically ideated, a lot would depend upon the engagement scenarios, proximities to surface support and armament effectiveness. Not to mention the combat operators' skill and experience from both the factions. Theoretically, in a toe-to-toe scenario, 4+ generation avionics and guided weapon systems would hold a definitive edge over any aerial combat platform of previous generation, especially those which are primarily surface attack platforms. Salute'
Very informative video, thank you!
Some people sometimes mix up things and start tracing comparison lines between A-29 and the 4th+ aircraft generations. But that’s a dumb comparison, they’re not meant for the same job.
A-29 is combat proven, cost-effective and very versitile for the type of combat he’s required.
I wonder if we see such planes hunting cheap drones in the future as well. Older SPAAG systems have found new purpose with the rising drone threat. A couple of these in the air can fly up to hours on patrol, have NATO arsenal compability and are way less maintenance heavy than a jet doing the same job.
Been waiting for this one finally.
You don't need a hammer to kill a cockroach. This plane fits that philosophy of warfare.

Due to its robustness, versatility, wide range of bombs/missiles, speed and long range, it is much better than combat helicopters
the A-29E Super Tucano light multi role turbo prop ground attack fighter should have an internal 25 MM GAU-12/U rotary gun built into the frontal lower under fuselage section of the Embraer A-29E Super Tucano (Block 2) light multi role turbo prop ground attack fighter . . . the firing of the GAU-12/U would be timed with the variable rotation of the front propellers in sequence . . . the wing mounted gun creates lot of vibration on the airframe . . .
Too heavy, complex, and unnecessary. A laser guided rocket is more capable and accurate.
Given that this is a LIGHT CAS attack aircraft, its two wing-mounted .50 Caliber Machineguns are actually the BETTER option because they allow the Tucano to hit targets in very close proximity to ground troops without endangering them. This was one of the reasons the US Army's Kiowas were so popular as well. Their armaments wouldn't threaten nearby troops.

Can you make a video on the L-39 trainer?
Good Video. But if you let me just one correction. Min 4:18, Equatorian Air Force has two Combat Esquadrons of his remaining 17 airframes of A-29B (01 was lost in 2012), Esquadron No. 2311 and No. 2313 and as i told you they are Combat Squadrons, they are NOT training squadrons, they only made recurrent training for their pilots and crews and only for transition pilots from basic training to operational and combat training. Thus they're NOT for only training duties
As a former WSO of this aircraft from another latin american air force can asure you that. Cheers!
Thanks for correction

US Socom actually picked the air tractor plane for their contract of light attack/close air support aircraft
So it’s just a Stuka… Good idea!
I want to know how much about the new American Scorpion plane

Because sometimes you need humans to make decisions.
And in this case, the risk for the pilot is usually minimal, as the target has no reaction power for an air attack.
And I think most of the use is the interception of drug aircraft.

1:30 - 1:42 "as expected" wtf?
the A4 sky raider , would have been a better deal .
The Brazilian Navy has the A4 I think are the most modern in the world.
The A4 has a higher cost of flight time, its higher speed makes it difficult to intercept slow planes and the avionics of the Super Tucano are more modern.
But mainly the Super Tucano is an airplane that is in production and all kinds of maintenance is done with ease.
Already the A4 are becoming unfeasible to operate due to lack of spare parts and the structures are reaching the end of their useful life.

In Brazil, a big part of the problem is being the route from producer to consumer, since both are outside its borders.

Very true. The next question that I'd like to know as part of your argument is what do those cost per hour to fly? No trying to be a smart ass but I do wonder how they compare for per hour costs. I can't find any sources that seem reliable or accurate.
Some of that cost is also part of the modern military equipment that is built inside the planes (sensors, etc).
That's like comparing a Ferrari 125 to a Lamborghini Murciélago. Just because it's a propeller plane does not mean you can compare WW2 planes to it. Without looking at specs, I highly doubt twin-engine planes from the 40s will compare in operational costs and/or range, also, good luck sourcing parts to 80 year old planes in good enough condition for military use.
More than a dozen countries operate the A-29, so are you smarter than all the military experts? kid this is not a video game stop talking shit
Why aren't this bad ass rigs in Ukraine????
The built-in .50cal is a waste of time, space, and unnecessary weight. That airplane will spend 99% of its time in the patrol/observation mission. The FLIR is more important than a couple of MGs. If your mission calls for strafing you can always load up a couple of pods.
I disagree. The sort of mission profile these things would often have might have them stumble upon enemy insurgents or similar small forces, and being able to strafe the enemy if need be is a useful flexibility. And pods would take up a valuable hardpoint that could be fitted with missiles, bombs, rockets, or (assuming it can use them) drop tanks.
The placement of the MGs also doesn't appear to interfere with having a FLIR on it.
If you need to destroy convoys of trucks strafing them with .50 cal incendiary is cheapest option rather than using rocket pods.
