I hate to be so negative again (I really do love this show and this season overall), but I really thought this episode was a victim of too many mystery boxes and ended up being a bit mid in the end (for now). I really think they should have saved the "Ruby's true mother" stuff for next season and I take particular umbridge with the inclusion of Mrs. Flood. I just think it left the episode too fragmented with jarring juxtapositions between each scene as they kept chopping and changing mystery box explorations sometimes even between each line of dialogue! I get that it was all supposed to join into one big mystery at the end, and I hope to be eating my words come next week, but so far I feel that the Susan Triad part is the only part that's been developed properly and even that still hasn't quite been explained fully, although I expect that to be better fleshed out next episode (along with the other mystery boxes hopefully but I'm not too expectant of that unfortunately). I also feel like barely any of the mystery boxes were solved at a base level and in this episode they just added extra mystery boxes on top of the ones that had already been established and spent the time exploring those rather than the original mysteries that had been set up all season too. Another problem, and this is completely my fault, I've become so involved with the fandom that nothing was that shocking to me in the end even despite avoiding all leaks and spoilers. Sutekh was widely expected by the airing and I even kinda called that the TARDIS would play a part in the evil. Like I said this is completely my fault and not the episode's problem in any way. Ooh another theory I have is that Susan Triad is Ruby's mother and Sutekh took her or something on Christmas because of the doctor going there. And so Sutekh pretty much tortures and destroys Susan Triads life, and maybe is the reason Ruby doesnt get to see her again. Meaning its the doctors fault.

I was just thinking about this - I think Ms. Flood gave us a clue when she said something along the lines of "I'm always hiding myself away" - So it got me thinking if she may be one of these gods that were mentioned. What kind of god would be hiding themselves away? Wait... DISASTER - One of the gods was called Disaster (Incensor) - What is a flood but a natural disaster? What did Flood literally make happen? A storm! Incensor? Is Ms. Flood Incensor (Disaster)? What does Incensor mean? 1. an incense burner; censer2. archaicone who incenses or incites; a person who stirs up3. a person who burns incense, esp as an offering4. archaica flatterer; a person who offers adulation to another. Adulation is flattery/praise - What is Flood literally doing in almost every episode? She's always complimenting Ruby or other people! Except when she argued with her neighbour, aha. A person who stirs up? She's stiring up drama. Also, storms are known to stir before manifesting. Now why would Flood (Disaster) be hiding away? I think she has her own plan. IMO, these gods don't interfere with other gods plans, Maestro wanted to understand but did not really interfere, Flood said "It's none of my business" - Toymaker said "That's someone elses game". - Is Flood so interested in Ruby... because something bad is going to happen to her? A disaster? Now Incensor was said to have two children called DOUBT and DREAD Now where they're going with that I have no idea - but if Ruby is somehow related to Flood - that may possibly make her a god/demigod. I'm really not sure if Flood is related to Ruby but I have a strong feeling her story will be left for Season 2. An alternative "There are gods of skin and shame and secrets" This could also be why she's hiding herself away, not too sure - but it could well be.
I still think Ms Flood is the Rani to be revealed in season two or a cliffhanger. I don’t think mentioning her in the new series was a one off. I think it was done for a reason. I think they have the rights or ability to use the character somehow. Her door is tardis blue, and it has the number 4 on it. There’s four letters in Rani. Could it be finally? I don’t think she’s Susan because why would she have a reason to be mean to Cherry?
