To me there is nothing better than an owner assisted annual, get to know your airplane a lot better that way. I know, I do have the time and some folks do not, but you will never regret it.
..thanks for sharing Ern...looking just a little different with that white hat...but a really good idea.. while poking around.. and under your beautiful plane...
Ern, thanks for sharing this! Its nice to see what goes into an annual inspection and with a maintenance facility that clean, you cant go wrong! Fly safe bud! 🙏
Free annual for the Green Hornet at MDW. Good video allowing folks to see what if really takes to keep aviators and aviation safe. Thanks Ern and safe travels.✈️
Congrats to you & Sam for reaching this milestone with The Green Hornet! Great looking maintenance facility - it is very clean! Safe travels flying TGH back home.
Thanks for sharing this big Ern. This was very interesting to see everything that goes into an annual inspection. A big kudos to all of the aircraft mechanics out there. Especially the SWA mechanics. I just flew back from OKC and the techs were amazing fixing a minor issue. Keep hustling Ern!
Excellent video. Have been thru several of these and always a little nerve racking as to what can come up but it's what makes our airplanes safe and we owe it to our passengers to have the plane running in tip top condition at all times. Nice that Cirrus pay for the first annual . Nice touch Cirrus. That's next level customer service.
Thanks Big Ern for the content! I am working on PPL with 2 lessons behind me so far snd written already passed! Still got a ways to go but plugging along.
Very cool! The hand writing from the factory is always interesting. There is a barn find P51D here in NZ being restored with lots of interesting things found written inside as it was being built
@@FlyingwithBigErn here in NZ, there was a old boy who passed year before last. In his shed, he had a Mustang with 250 hours on it, 2 x P40, 2 x T6 and to top it all off a Mosquito! He also had huge amounts of new old stock, especially for the P51 and mozzie…..fascinating watching their restorations. You need to come down for one of our air shows, Warbirds over Wanaka and Wings Over Wairarapa (where Peter Jackson’s personal World War 1 flyable collection is based)
very interesting to see the annual getting done from an owners perspective! Also I've been watching your videos for awhile now and I am currently doing my commercial single license right now and at 160+ hours and I hope one day before you retire i'll get to fly right seat with you. I've got a long ways ahead of me before I even get to a regional but southwest is my dream airline and i hope to end up there
I would be honored my friend. It seems like a long way but trust me it will go by fast. One day you’ll be in my seat looking back and wondering where did all the time go. Enjoy the journey👍🏽
Too many issues for brand new airplane, I hope Cirrus covers all of that, although I know they’re extremely good with fine prints just like their sales team. Thx for sharing !!
Great Video, I am getting my Cirrus in November (In the CMX Program), you made the statement that the tires were new and one side of brakes replaced, was that done while the plane was in the CMX program with the salesman having it, or did you have to do that after you took possession? Thanks Mark
Always appreciate when you give recognition to my fellow Av Tech brothers and sisters! How did they get to the oil filter? Mechanics Creed: Nothing that brute force, human stupidity and a lot of profanity can't handle. LOL Happy Landings!
Hey, let you into the maintenance area...car dealers will never allow customers into the work area. Thanks for sharing the maintenance bill. I know that car dealerships will rip you off...$750 for a new battery and filters, do it myself for under $200 with a much better battery!
Hi Robert! I’ve had the awesome opportunity to do that in the Air Force flying the C-5 and KC-135. Great experience and amazing travel opportunity while I was younger. I like to stick closer to home nowadays with younger kids. But I highly recommend if you get the opportunity👍🏽

That’s a great point Michael. I hope to do one at some point. 👍🏽

There was a vision jet there ❤
Super interesting look at the SR22!! Very cool, Ern. Thanks for all of your aviation videos and also, especially, your G.A. videos!!
...hats off to Big Ern..now climbing up higher.. to nearly 18k...in subs...
Ern, thanks for sharing this! Its nice to see what goes into an annual inspection and with a maintenance facility that clean, you cant go wrong! Fly safe bud! 🙏
“Ok maybe a little Sam” 😂
Thanks Ern for letting us see what goes into a annual inspection!! The Green Hornet will pass with flying colors and be in the air in no time!!
BIGERN! I did my first Traffic pattern today. I guess that means i’m pretty close to a Southwest seat.
Nice! One step closer.
Awesome Will! Congrats and yes you are one step closer! Keep up the good work my friend👍🏽
I just got my Arrow out of Annual, went in in January came out in February, got an extra month.

Thanks! Yes, the customer service at Cirrus has been great👍🏽
Great video👍🏽… can’t wait to see the Green Hornet back in the air!
Looking very nice...
It's always good to get your airplane a physical! All jokes aside, great video and I'm glad the green hornet is in great condition.
Thanks Big Ern for the content! I am working on PPL with 2 lessons behind me so far snd written already passed! Still got a ways to go but plugging along.
Great job getting the written out of the way! That hangs up a lot of people. Keep up the great work!👍🏽
I can see the anxiety through the smiles...waiting for the bill. :-) The Green Hornet is a beautiful aircraft.
😁 always the case as an aircraft owner. Thank you!

Love the P-51!👍🏽

Another great video!!!!
That GH still looks like new…hope you can fly it soon…
Great video, what is the ball park price for an annual service?
Did you not see the Turbo Commander?
Damn that place is clean. Big hands or just a small engine🤣. Great info on annual
😁. Thanks Q!

Cirrus has been amazing! I do have to say they have been the best to work with in my experience. Love their customer service👍🏽
They do better work than Jiffy Lube. Be sure to remember to use your coupon. Nice looking Arrow Commander.
Firewall forward looks almost factory new! How many hours did you put on it in the last year? -Beautiful aircraft!
Thank you! We put about 200 hours on it👍🏽

Congrats Mark! You’ll love the plane. We took possession so it was on us. All 👍🏽
@@FlyingwithBigErn thanks Ern, because of your video, my plane is 100% like yours colors and all. Cirrus should give a referral fee😂😂😂
Ern, what's the total hours/flights on the plane after year one?
We ended up with around 200 hours. Not bad considering both Sam and I were flying it👍🏽
What did that cost?
The first year is free from Cirrus I believe.
Hey Ern, how many hours of flight time did the Green Hornet get in your guys first year?
Hey Chris! We ended up with 200 hours👍🏽
Always appreciate when you give recognition to my fellow Av Tech brothers and sisters! How did they get to the oil filter? Mechanics Creed: Nothing that brute force, human stupidity and a lot of profanity can't handle. LOL Happy Landings!
Thanks Tony! Yeah without them we would not have that pretty bird in the air👍🏽
2:08 - OK Larry! Get the filter off, please. You only have one job.
Total cost of the annual…$149.95?
:)
The one thumbs down was the faulty pitot tube sensor.
😁
Woah how many flights do the brakes and tires last?
Depends on the type of flying. Sam is finishing up his PPL so lots more landings on it for now. That will ease out moving forward.
I do have to admit.. the brakes are probably me.. yes.. I ride em some of the time lol sorry big ern.
🤣 all good my brother! Had to give you some grief!😁

BigErn do you want to fly longhaul?
Hi Robert! I’ve had the awesome opportunity to do that in the Air Force flying the C-5 and KC-135. Great experience and amazing travel opportunity while I was younger. I like to stick closer to home nowadays with younger kids. But I highly recommend if you get the opportunity👍🏽
My wife is from Australia so been 12 times. Lax to BNE 14hrs westbound.
