Im a just a regular gigging drummer who occasionally teaches newbies. Not the best in the world, but decent. Rudiments is a super emphasis when I teach. The young ones tend to get a little frustrated, but years in they excel beyond what I can practically teach. I can't tell ya how rewarding it is to see this. These things are vital.
@@Willj2407 Thanks for the kind words! I love this hobby of ours, but I just want the next generation to have solids so they can keep it going. I had little direction before I discovered music making. It truly change my life.
Have been to jazzschool as a guitar Player… That’s exactly the sound I heard in the breakroom for 3 years straight… paired with endless noodling on unplugged Electric Guitars, mainly played by myself… thanks for the flashbacks! 😂😂😂
It's interesting to see how many of these are included in the grading system for drums as there's alot of interesting ones that I just never got taught - drag paradiddle always be one my favs tho 🙌
My eyes happened to wander onto his t shirt and hair moving and now I can't stop watching them, they're mesmerising. I feel like I've just been a victim of a very elaborate distraction crime 🤔😮
Flam paradiddle diddle really tests the weak hand coordination doesn’t it cos I can do paradiddle diddles quite easily. Flam Drag the same.. Flammed Mill I can also do, but never knew what it was called. Nice one Samus
I remember being at a business lunch as a young lad and one of the directors all of sudden said "sex" mid sentence. I remember one of the IT leads saying "pardon!!!". It was all very British, you had to be there
This is the first time I have been able to do all of those, and I didn't even know that they were rudiments. I just thought they were combinations of easier rudiments.🤔 Which, I guess they are .... 😊♥️✌️
Samus… how many more of these do I need to sit through? This is part four… Will there be a part five??? Good Lord, please tell me… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! 😱
Samus's four videos worked through the 40 rudiments in the PAS Drum Rudiments collection. That's all of them, so there may not be any more videos like this. (That said, there are other rudiments....)
Do you have any recommendations for a quiet and a normal practice pad? I’ve mostly been looking at the Zildjian reflexx, or the meinl marshmallow paired with an Evan’s real feel

I bet your an amazing drummer! Better than you think!!

The names of these sound like really really old people insulting each other
I’d call someone a flam paradiddle diddle in no time and for no reason.
Average British pub name:

FRANTIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TIC-TOCK
It’s 10 stroke roll actually
DAGADAGADAGADAGADAGA-BOOM!!!!!!

St. Anger right off the bat

I thought I was the only one that heard the intro to Frantic 😂
Omg i thought i was the only one 😂😂
Since he’s done 4 parts, each with 10 rudiments…that means he’s done all 40 rudiments.
I almost didn’t think there was that many different rudiments in drums/percussion. Keep up the amazing work Samus.
Practically infinite amount
Part 4?!? That's half of TWEEEENTY TWOOOOOOO. \GHOGF/
**toot** sex!

Perfect example of the Triple Ratamacue; Ddevil by System of a Down
Oh my god, no wonder why it sounded so familiar!!
@@panasonic_youth hell yeah!
I was wondering if someone would make this connection!
Totally, that song is amazing to play in drums....!!!!
“Flam paradiddle diddle” will always be the best
I did these rudiments and my band teacher was proud of me and thanks
Edit:my band teacher never heard anybody do these rudiments in 6 years
It's interesting to see how many of these are included in the grading system for drums as there's alot of interesting ones that I just never got taught - drag paradiddle always be one my favs tho 🙌
Immediately heard frantic on the first one
Bro I love this series
The single flammed mill uptempo on two separate drums is a nice exercise and fun.
Lesson 25 is a good beat. I might use that, and mix it with a Triple Ratamacue.
Drag Paradiddle 1 is pretty metal too
Listen to 86 by Green Day
I have a feeling you have worked through the entire book of stick control!!!!!!!!!!
I could never use two hands separately bro. Drummers on another level.
„Sex“ This always kills me 🤣😭
Me too!
u doing it wrong
Amazing, congrats, man ✌️
I'm like Nick Cannon in Drum Line. I could never read these notations, even after drumming for 15+ years. But I could do it after listening to it
That drag paradiddle 1 was my vibe.
Ya know so many of em Daddy ❤

“Very elaborate distraction crime”
when I heard Lesson 25 I IMMEDIATELY thought of the intro to Something I Learned Today by Hüsker Dü
Keep em coming bro
Triple ratamacue is the Aztec drum beat, “Tonancin”, which translates to “Mother Earth”.
I swear it'll be the end of all good things the day this man runs out of rudiments
Flam paradiddle diddle really tests the weak hand coordination doesn’t it cos I can do paradiddle diddles quite easily.
Flam Drag the same..
Flammed Mill I can also do, but never knew what it was called.
Nice one Samus
triple ratamacue my goat
Drag Paradiddle #1 and #2 sound like a sick death metal beat on their own already!
Amazing thanks for doing it !!!
eventhough this guy is a drummer.. the way he moves and laughs this guy has such strange motor abilities.
the last rudiment sounds so familiar,I swear there's a nursery rhyme with the same pattern
I played saxophone phone in high school in the names kill me 😂 We didn't have any cool stuff like this
THIS DUDE Is becoming EMCProductions
Thank you for doing all the rudiments the rest of us don’t.
Drag Paraddle #1 sounds like something I would hear in a Lamb of God song.
Sticks holding sticks... And it Sound awsome 😂😂😂
reminds me Ian Paice hand position somewhat like the French . Thanks good to watch
Oh Yuurrr 😎 I don't play drums (I barely play rhythm guitar) but I give drummers and percussionists mad props, that shit be confusing AF 😅😁
Not a drummer but love the names, and although I don't really know what they mean, it sure sounds great!
Oh YUUUUURRRR. You did it!
Ohhh YUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! But Wait! You’ve forgotten the reverse dragged cav-tickle-diddle-diddle
hahahahaha
That sounds illegal.
Ratamacue has to be my fave word
And Flam paradiddle diddle is my fave string of words! S e x 💀
Thank you!
Wow! I guess you can't let that 17 stroke roll get rusty!! 🥁📀🤘🥸
You are my teacher thank you👍🙏
I remember being at a business lunch as a young lad and one of the directors all of sudden said "sex" mid sentence. I remember one of the IT leads saying "pardon!!!". It was all very British, you had to be there
My prayers were answered
Amazing stuff ; need to let go my idea of beginning the drums at 46 😂
you can do it!!!!
I LOVE DRUMMING. the ifficial terms lolz Diddle
So awesome!
Some MAX from KRISIUN on this one…. SOUL DEVOUR!!!!
Let it Roll.
Fuckin great!
This is the first time I have been able to do all of those, and I didn't even know that they were rudiments. I just thought they were combinations of easier rudiments.🤔
Which, I guess they are ....
😊♥️✌️
Your a killer with that
Lesson 25 sounds like Wait and Bleed for a second
1st one sounds like Franctic xD
Nice job 😁😁💜
ok so am I the only one that noticed that drag paradiddle 1 needs to be a meshuggah song, and drag 2 sounds like disposable heros
Lesson 25 sounds kinda familiar
At this point I'm sure he's making these words up.
Lesson 25 is literally vampire by janne da arc lol
Do cheeses and flam 5’s next
I love you. No 5 minute bullshit explanation for each god damned rudiment
Best tee
we’ll need a herta tutorial soon
Book Reports when?!?
I have heard the sencond last one in the dong Gasolina
Lesson 25 is just the opening drum beat to 86 by Green Day
TERMS SOUNDS DIRTY
For me you have to allay with Joe porter 😊
11 stroke roll is literally Frantic
Diddle? 🤨📸
Nice 🤘
Beneath the massacre new song
Lesson 25 aka song for the Dead lol
Lesson 25 is literally Huayno wtf how have i not noticed this
Your Flam Paradiddlediddles were actually Flam Double Paradiddles 😬. Easy to mix up in flam form, because both have alternating accents
Next up: 38383938474939382739482 stroke roll
Hey Samus, when another video of rudiments?
Still waiting for him to do the herta lol
as i have explained previously, the herta is a hybrid rudiment, and not part of the standard 40.
we will see if I feel like doing more hehe, cheers!
1st one just sounds like Frantic by Metallica 😂🤘
Do you have any recommendations for a quiet and a normal practice pad? I’ve mostly been looking at the Zildjian reflexx, or the meinl marshmallow paired with an Evan’s real feel
11 stroke roll…. That’s half of
I've been studying drums for over 30 years and still don't understand why double and triple ratamacue are rudiments. Those are vocabularies.
Make part 5
there are only 40 standard rudiments, these were the last 10 :)
I'm giving up on drums
Could you please write a six roll as a 6 lit
Phew! LEsson 25 seemed unnecessarily hard for some reason. 🤷♂️
I can do the last one with my fingernails and a table
Isn't Flammed mill the same as Pataflafa?
Are there any left for part 5? I'm not a drummer, genuinely wondering.
that was all 40 now, but I could maybe do some hybrid rudiments too hehe
@@66SamusLegend. Thanks for fun and educational content.
Surely part 5 guys right ?
there is only 40 standard rudiments, but there is also room for hybrids :)
How u remember all the rudiments's names?😅
