      j luttrell,
My heart just breaks for you. My husband has COPD and it’s getting worse and I am scared. I’m scared for him and me. I’ve never been alone and in June we will be married for 41 years. He just got out on oxygen when he needs it and oxygen with his sleep apnea. Since having a stress test because he drives truck for a living he has gone downhill so fast. Is there any advice you can give me???

I am so sorry. Loss my Randy after 20 yrs and he just stood up and died of heart attack. He said i love you and was gone. I am the one with copd. He always said , no . i will go before you to get us ready. ;0 Now, i am so struggling but refuse to stop fighting this. I quit smoking, 3 yrs ago. eat healthier , loss 89 lbs, but the heart now is issue. this is crazy stuff and seems no doc will give me answer as everyday seems worse on breathing..Just need to breath better and what meds help this. Too many doc, no answers and find more on youtube. than in offices. My prayers to you and family and hope this finds you better than yesterday. I know the mourning is hard. Remember they never leave your heart .No matter what. Spend your time happy, time is the one thing that is just not replaceable. I refuse to be negative or look at this as non fixable as faith and hope are powerful and prayers are miracles
Peace to you my friend (◡‿◡✿)

4 years ago I was diagnosed with CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE and I have tried everything I could to heal myself, but it was all to no avail, until I saw a post on a health forum about an herbalist preparing herbal medicines to cure everything type of diseases. including COPD , at first I doubted it was real, but decided to give it a try, when I contacted this herbalist through his email and he prepared me a herbal cure for COPD and sent it to me via the delivery service of UPS from the company, when I received this herbal cure. , gave me step by step instructions on how to apply it, when I applied it according to the instructions I was totally cured of this deadly disease within 1 months of use, I am now free from COPD , all thanks to Dr. Joshua Ighalo. You can also contact this great herbalist for help by email: drjoshua.ighalo@gmail.com or contact Dr. through his whats-app: +2349057958723 They also specialize in the treatment of all kinds of diseases, VIRUS HERPES , HEPATITIS B, CANCER, BRAIN DISEASE, INFERTILITY, DIABETES AND MORE.

My grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 COPD in 2002 right after his 77th birthday. He is still going strong today. It just never progressed for some reason. For a few years there he huffed and puffed a bit and slept with oxygen. But then one day he just said I feel great. Last year at some point he took all of the O2 machines out of his house and moved them into the back of the garage basically telling the family I'm done with all that, never needed it, don't want it, forget it exists. And to everyones astonishment he is doing better than ever. He still lives alone. He still drives and goes to the bank and the grocery store just like he has for 80 years. Last month he made Thanksgiving dinner for our whole family and it was a crazy large spread. I kid with him and tell him he is a robot and nobody has it figured out yet and he always just says I just know how to be old real good. Strange world we live in.

@@dc.pentrumesteri4893 My Grandfather just passed in May. He was 99. He had his birthday the month before. He was a fighter until the end and never slowed down. He went for his morning walk on the day he passed as if there was nothing wrong. Sorry if people don't want to believe it but that's the way it was. He had COPD since the early 2000's and even though every Dr. visit showed things worse and worse he never showed it in his day to day life. Never stopped taking care of himself, shopping on his own, paying his own bills. Guy was a hero. He is missed greatly in our lives.

My daddy was diagnosed with emphysema COPD at age 58, so he got scared and quit smoking. He got hooked on smoking at age 16. He liked unfiltered Lucky Strike. That was a popular brand with his generation. His COPD progressed slow, I think because he quit smoking at stage 1. He lived to be 90 and died in 2001. It wasn't until the last few years of his life that he became weak, skinny and used an oxygen tank. He crept around like an old scare crow, but finally collapsed and died on the kitchen floor. My mother died soon afterward at age 85 from lung cancer. It was ghastly. She smoked unfiltered Pall Mall, another popular brand with the WWII generation, but quit at age 64. She started up smoking again in her 80s and promptly got cancer. They were married 65 years. Cigarettes also killed her two brothers, ages 66(lung cancer) and 75(COPD). Anyway, it can take a long time to kill you if you quit before your lungs aren't so messed up.

I have been smoking for 40 years and I quit 6 years ago so it's not too bad but the oxygen does help long as you keep moving. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Add me to the list. I have stage 3 from years of working in concrete and construction. I never smoked. Sadly, the vast majority of people with COPD were or are smokers, so I guess they view it as a given that we smoked. It seems that question is one that we just have to forebear.

That sure reminds me of when the V.A. said I had sorosis. They kept asking me how much alcohol I drink. When one asked me how much booze I drink, I just say, not much, no more than a gallon a day. I finally told her that I do not like the taste of alcohol, so of course I do not drink it, any more than any nasty medicine.
They do assume a lot, instead of first asking! Wish you well and pray for God's Devine Healing.

My mother was diagnosed with COPD some 10 years ago, they told her if she didn't quit smoking she'd have 5 or so years but if she quit 15.
She never quit, she passed away 29th of November 2020. I watched her breathing slowly get worse over the years but it wasn't until she was diagnosed with bowel cancer 4 years ago than she really went down hill.
She beat cancer after all the treatment but she lost so much weight she was a walking skeleton, she was never able to gain the weight due to her lungs being week and exercise was hard, her stomach shrunk so much she could only eat small portion.
I was so grateful she beat cancer but her last year of remission she passed away in her sleep. Its only been 2 months and its still killing me. I didn't expect it and I wasn't ready to loose my mam. She was bad with her breathing for a week before she died but I was so used to her having good days and bad so to me it was just another bad episode.
I'd give anything for my mum back and I wish so badly there was something I could have done. Wish there was a cure for this but I'm not sure there ever will be because in doctors eyes it's self inflicted and won't put the money into it.

      Hi,
You said you believe in God The Father & His Son Yeshua (Jesus) who is the Great Physician...The Great Healer. Do you REALLY believe in Him or no? He has "the last word..." not your doctor, He's in control...not your doctor.
      Not "Church"
Not "Religion..." but do you have an intimate relationship with The LORD? He can & will heal you if you TRUST HIM, BELIEVE IN HIM & HAVE FAITH THAT HE WILL!
Why do we humans turn to everything & everyone else except Elohim (GOD...) When He is always just there waiting to help us/heal us for His Glory of which He is worthy.
All we have to do is ask & believe.
HEBREWS 11:6 - *But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.*
Shalom, Yeshua heal, help & bless you.

I had a friend at the retirement community where I live who had "end stage COPD", or so she said she had been told by her doctor. She got around fine without supplemental oxygen and had all her mental faculties. She took the prescribed "breathing treatments" and I think she slept with a nasal cannula for O2 at night. One day about a year ago she died suddenly without prior increased symptoms at her residence. I didn't get details, but something tells me she had some other issues healthwise I wasn't aware of. It's like she was here one day and gone the next, just that sudden.

I have COPD and use an inhaler three times a day and a breathing manual machine I blow in to help expand my lungs. Go to the doctor! If you catch COPD soon enough it can be reversed or stop it from getting worse. Of course you will have to stop smoking.

Hey everyone's different, I have copd emphasema, I've had lung surgery to take right top lung away, your dad's gonna be fine lots of excersise to strengthen your muscles copd sufferers use them more than a normal person with a healthy set of lungs would, eat healthily drink plenty of water we have to drink more because of the Mucas we have to bring up, I've had this copd for years and smoked I don't now Thoe, but giving up is a must, physio therapy is good at your local hospital for it , depends how bad it is but it works specially going swimming, this is not a death sentence you can learn to live with it I've had it 20 yrs I'm still hear good luck .rember lots of excersise.

i wonder if anyone might know what stage my grandad is in? I think he's between stage 2 and 3. Every time I see him he's coughing his lungs up at regular intervals and cant walk long distances though he is able to go out at times though my aunts do care for him at his home and able to sing and post. However I am unable to determine if he is stage 2 or 3.

I’m sorry to hear about your grandad. I’m a never-smoker with stage 3 COPD from concrete and construction work.
One really can’t guess their stage. He would need to see a pulmonologist for a lung function test. They determine the stage by the percentages of his inhalation and exhalation compared to lung capacity.
