I think that is the norm not the exception. Looking back I don't understand why I stressed myself out back in HS. Nothing that was taught there affects me today.

The only classes that always have space are the ones that don't fulfill any requirements, which don't help you at all unless you really need units. Even if you don't get your pick, there are SEVERAL other time slots. AND if you REALLY want a certain time slot (like the 8pm class on a Tuesday with a specific teacher) you can ALWAYS get an override form. If you can get the professor to sign it, you'll be granted a seat in the class. And EVEN IF that doesn't work, you can STILL register for a class that's full and attend classes. You'll just be put on the wait-list. As soon as someone drops, you take their seat. Many people drop because they change their mind, or they are dropped for non-payment, financial aid issues, or for not following the rules.
