    *Tip #2: Kevlar belt drives will be more durable than traditional belt drives
    *Magnetic resistance bikes have a lot of pros, but one downside (aside from a heftier price) is that it is limited in the maximum amount of resistance that can be achieved. This isn't a problem for most individuals, but worth considering if you are a beast on the bike!

    Hi Kristen what do you think about Sunny fitness sf b1877, that one looks decent to me except it is really heavy, approximately 55 Kg for the whole bike and the flywheel is 29 lbs which is one pound short of what you recommended😅does it really matter? I have seen some bikes that have 35 pounds of flywheel but the whole bike is only 60 to 70 lbs, sounds not too normal to me, that means without the wheels those bikes are only about 30 to 40 lbs?😮🤔️would they break easily?🤨
    Thanks in advance

    • @KirstenAllen
      @KirstenAllen  9 місяців тому

      Hi! I would recommend looking at the Max User Bodyweight Capacity of the Sunny bike (or any bike) to confirm the bike's quality! A good quality bike should be able to support around 300lbs. I wouldn't worry about a 1 lb difference in flywheel weight. Also, I highly recommend trying to see if you can get a good deal on a used bike off Facebook marketplace first!

      That's about 40lbs which is great! Also, check out Facebook marketplace for some good deals too!

    Which of the following options is better?
    - direct contact resistance with 18 kg flywheel
    - magnetic resistance with 6.5 kg flywheel
    I know magnetic resistance is definitely better but is having a heavier flywheel more important??

      A 6.5 kg flywheel seems pretty light... I would go with the higher quality bike overall. Double check the max user body weight capacity of the magnetic resistance bike and the materials used for the frame. This will be a good indicator of quality. Like I said in the video, I prefer to prioritize a heavier flywheel as it gives a smoother ride and is most comparable to outdoor riding.

    I have the schwin IC4. It’s pretty good so far. I can’t adjust resistance that quickly...takes a lot of turns to go from a light resistance to a climb. Otherwise it’s a nice bike

      Oh that's a nice one!! Thanks for sharing on the resistance sensitivity for others reading the comments! Such a pet peeve when it takes too long to get the right tension!

    • @kristensmith4006

      My bike takes a lot of turns to change resistance especially from climbs to sprints and vice versa, so I start changing resistance when Kirsten says 10seconds remaining.

      @@kristensmith4006 I find myself doing the same thing. If I start adjusting the tension when Kristen says “go” and stop when she’s at “1” I find it pretty much evens out, even though I’m not as in synch as I’d like to be lol. I get to high tension later, but i also get back to low tension later. Sounds like you are in the same boat!

      @@KirstenAllen I didn’t get to comment on your bike setup video yet, but that was helpful as well. I actually raised my handles a bit after watching, and it seems to help. Thanks for doing these!

    Would a 6kg flywheel suffice?

    • @KirstenAllen
      @KirstenAllen  8 місяців тому

      That may be a little light... Double check the max user bodyweight capacity to see if the bike build is high quality. Should be around 300lbs.

      Oh wow 300lbs is a lot! This one weighs roughly 25 kilos haha. I’m based out of India, and spin bikes here start at ~$90. The one I’m considering is magnetic and costs $150.
      Thanks a bunch for the super helpful video and your guidance by the way :)
