I think a really under rated thing to have is a dehumidifier. Stops all of the steam you generate from filling the room and generally keeps the air cleaner, it feels more comfortable too

Two cheap but awesome things which improved my indoor cycling: 1. A sweat guard for indoor cycling, basically a cover which protects the bike from sweat 2. A towel connected to a rope hanging from the ceiling next to my bike, which I can grab and use for my face.
Nice video. My budget-friendly Zwift set up is in the garage, so it's nice and cool. I also have a fan which helps once I warm up. I have an old 32 inch flat screen tv hooked up to an old pc with a decent graphics card, with a cable internet connection which I ran from the house (drilling through a few walls), so I don't need to worry about wireless signal. For the bike, I'm using an old winter aluminium machine (not worried about sweat dripping on it), with a speed sensor on the rear hub and cadence sensor on the crank, hooked up to a Kinetic Road Machine turbo, which cost £300 and is smooth and quiet. I ride with a hear rate monitor, so I have speed, cadence and heart rate, which is enough data for me. Overall I'm pleased with my sub-£1k set up.

Nice, like the fact that it’s all set up and there’s no messing about, you can just jump on and go. Looking forward to the indoor vids coming up as a Zwifter myself!
Nice, thanks! After pretty bad outdoor bike accident, I have my garage set up with a large tv, a Bose stereo connected to that, cast through google cast/apple tv for youtube, concerts/my fav channels, then a stand next to me with my iPad running Zwift, with my remotes, phone, towels across handle bars for sweat, towels stuffed into bottle holders and fanned out just enough to catch sweat and guards better than anything else I've tried. Fan directly in front of me as well, at handlebar level. Trainer is the Wahoo Rollr on a large workout mat. Love it! Just found your channel, good luck to you!
I also got one used and I am quite happy with budget wise but one thing bothers me a lot: is noisy as hell, especially when pushing hard. Do you have any recommendations? I don't have slick tires and I am aware that would improve the situation, but would it improve that much?
Very good, I have pretty much the same set up, 1 suggestion would be micro fibre head bands, I find them excellent for absorbing pesky sweat, and even a few hand towels/flannels as well, as you mentioned staying cool and comfortable is essential for an enjoyable experience, enjoy your videos, RIDE ON!!!😀

Did you mention the (+/-) cost Martijn or did I miss that? Would be nice to know an estimate as you call this a budget friendly set up and how it compares to amore costly one :)
I would suggest an extra table nearby with pile of small towels, extra water bottles and gels. Also consider more fans, I currently use four fans, three in the front and one in the back. I also bike in front of a tv, with zwift on a tablet and on my phone, while listening to music.
Interesting, thanks. I find, that my desk needs to be farther away due to me sweating when going out of the saddle. And I use a big towel to cover the the whole top bar and front wheel.
Nice setup, also good to hear your honest opinion on the riser and steerer! In our Attic, I have a permanent spot for the trainer on a nice mat, a nice fan only a meter away. Not quite ready yet to invest in a dedicated trainer table, I remembered from ages ago that we still had a slide projector table somewhere (we both had analog slide camera's in those days). With one extra blade clamped to this projector table, it make a perfect surface for the Macbook running Zwift or Rouvy. A drying rack for laundry next to it makes a great spot to have a towel nearby.
Hey !. I want to get into swift now, after a long break from endurance cycling since college. But have some queries regarding it 1. Does the smart rotor make a lot of noise? See, I live on the first floor of an apartment and would want to cycling in the mornings. I don’t want the rumble to cause the people downstairs any trouble. 2. Will an entry level road bike be enough ? Is there any design or benefits of spending more for a better bike ? If my primary intent is to ride indoors. Im comfortable with it but it’s pointless if there’s no difference. What features specifically should I focus on? 3. How much does it all ( bike, stands, trainers etc ) cost to get started. Thanks !
a remote for the fan... inspirational! great shout... why didnt i think of that??!! i start with layers and freezing with the fan on full blast and gradually strip off! 🙄🙄

Love the simple set up - I have had problem with stiffness of my back on long zwift rides. Just bought a boom board to try - thanks for the recommendation - see you on zwift
I also get uncomfortable much quicker on the indoor Zwift set up than I do riding outdoors. I think it is mostly because I am in the same position all the time, compared to real world cycling where I'm moving about a lot more, on / off the saddle. Plus there are more distractions on the road, like cars, which means my brain is thinking about staying upright and in one piece than about aches and pains.
This is very useful. I bought a turbo last year just before summer so I’ve not got around to use it yet. Now the winter has started I need to build my rig.

The adjustment knob for the pressure on the flywheel works well also. The exercise bike is very well made, sturdy and easy move around.
