After getting your commission, consider whether you will do business under your own name or as a corporation or LLC. It’s quicker to start and less expensive to conduct business as yourself, but your personal assets can be protected when doing business as a corporation. Consider what’s best for your individual needs and budget. While working, it’s important to stay organized and leverage both free and paid advertising. Organization is key to financial and professional success. Keep records of business expenses throughout the year for tax benefits. The easiest (and free) way to advertise your Notary business is to simply tell people you’re a Notary.
