Hi Bonnie! You got that right, more smiles is always a good thing! Great to hear you like how the mosaic turned out. Such a fun project! Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
I now have a good use for my dad's vintage whet stone!!!!! I wasn't looking forward to a diamond bit grinder. (Low vision) Thank you!!! this is a good first project and I have LOTS of failed canvas board paintings I can cover up I have a vintage bowl with lid, was my aunts and she'd glue'd it together, I can't remember what it's called capote? Three dimensional porcelain flowers.. I can do something with that and not feel like I'm wrecking antiques. I had to look up mudlarker, I had no clue.*L
I think you are a wonderful teacher I would like to visit your studio in Miami one day you are amazing teacher thank you for all of your videos I love all your projects
Thanks, Julie! I’ve been scrounging around for ideas for a unique homemade Mother’s Day gift and this will do the trick! I appreciate your thoroughness!
Hi Taylor J! It's GREAT to hear you enjoyed the video and got some value from it. Thank you for your kind words, and for watching! How did your ungrouted mosaic turn out? Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Julie, thank you for ringing my doorbell and saving me from cleaning! 🤣 I'm going shopping instead! Thrift stores....here I come! Ohhh there are so many. Glad they're open until 9pm! 🤪 As always, you rock girl! Love this project. Soooo stinking easy!
Judith! You're welcome, anytime. Shopping it is! Grab your tess and get to cutting. Yes, it is so stinkin' easy and look at it! Just a couple hours of work and BAM! you got yourself a cutie. You go girl! Do your thing!💗
Hi Diane! I'm so glad you found my channel too! We've been waiting for you.😊 I'm happy to hear you're enjoying my videos and getting value from them. And yes, I don't take myself too seriously.😂 Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Hi Cathy! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! This groutless mosaic is so fun to make and it's a great way to use up scrap plates, bowls, and cups. Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Thank you Julie! What about if we were to glue/stick tiles directly on passepartout paper? What adhesive product would you recommend in order to avoid having the passepartout paper soaked (the tiles won't cover the paper everywhere, therefore a soaked passepartout paper will ruin the visual)?
YAY! It's great to hear you enjoyed the video!😊 This is a really fun project and doesn't involve any cutting at all if you don't want it to. It's really flexible! And yes, I don't take myself too seriously.😂 Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!
Hi JC! It's great to hear you enjoyed the video....and the bloopers! You know I've always got a couple good ones!😂 The project is relatively quick, super easy, and fully customizable. 🙌
Hi Marion! That's wonderful to hear! What shapes did you make, and what colors did you use? Same size as the one I made? As always, keep creating and I'm glad you're here! 🔥
@@JulieWeilbacher HI I used a 5x7 box frame. I bought plates in a few different materials to use. one was a china plate with a Chines junk on a lake with pretty trees. I also made a few and friends grabbed then the last time they were here. great to do on a snowy afternoon.
@@JulieWeilbacher I did different colors and the size of the egg was 2 1/2 inches could not find larger. The colors were orange, red and light blue. I wrapped the eggs with small vitreous glass squares of blue and white. I loved them had fun doing it. going to do more for Eater Baskets
Hahaha yes I do like options🤣 That was a very good project with a beautiful result. Is the purpose of the grinding stone only to give it a worn look? I wouldn’t need to use it on all of my projects would I?
Hi Karen! We do like options don't we? 🙌 Thanks for watching and great to hear you like how it turned out. Yes, the only purpose of the grinding stone is to give a worn look, however, sometimes tesserae need to be smoothed down due to jagged edges. You won't need to use it on every project though. I listed the one I used in the description below the video under 'tools.' Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🔥
Hi Patricia! Ohhhh a quilt pattern! 😍 Did you use ceramic and porcelain pieces? What was your color combo like? Sounds beautiful. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here.🙌
@@JulieWeilbacher wish I could figure out how to post a picture. Flat tiles (the kind with the ribs on one side and flat on the other(. Multiple colors combos: red/pink, greens, blues, black/white, tan/brown.
Hi Arlene! Thanks for watching...and great to hear you enjoyed the project. It's quick, easy, and totally customizable. Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!😊
Thank you so much Julie I finally found on my iPad where to press to find all of the information that I needed you are very sweet and an excellent teacher I look forward to more videos thank you very much
Great video. Have a question. I'm wanting to grout a mosaic vase I'm making. I want the grout to be very, very rough. 3 dimensional. Can I use stucco or do you have a better idea? Thank you
Hi Sherry! Hmmmm, stucco. What an interesting grout.🤔 I'd suggest making a sample board to see if you like how the stucco acts (and looks!) as a grout. Love your idea! Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Hi Lisa! Awww, thank you for your kind words and support!😊 I don't seal the edges of the tesserae. I cut, grind, and adhere! Short, sweet, and to the point!😂 Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!
Hi Terry! Aww, thank you for your kind words!😊 You want to use a canvas that is adhered to a board, otherwise the weight of the tesserae would pull it down and sag, and the tesserae might actually pull off too -- good ol' gravity!😂 So the 'canvas' I used in this project comes adhered to a heavy board from the manufacturer. Check out the description below the video for materials/supplies I used. Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Hi Cathy! As long as you aren't adhering heavy tesserae, and you don't use an excess amount of adhesive, I don't think your canvas board would warp. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🌟
Julie, thank you for sharing your art! I really enjoy your videos. This is one of my faves. One question....what are your thoughts on tesserae being the same size?
Hi Julie! (great name!)😉 Thanks for your kind words about my videos!! Yes, you can absolutely go with the same size tesserae. This mosaic allows for so many design options. Have fun with it! Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
Hi Kirsten! Thanks so much! Great to hear you enjoyed the project and my videos. 😊 Yes, clear silicone would work. It falls into the what I was saying in the video about certain adhesives being 'messy' or spilling out from under the tesserae. Silicone can be messy in general. So make sure you tape up the entire non-mosaic area just to be sure none of the silicone drips onto it. Let me know how the silicone goes! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🔥
I appreciate your lessons, can ungrouted glass work with this style? I work with stained glass and have a lot of pieces. I would appreciate your thoughts
Hi Susan! Thanks for watching the video and great to hear you like how the project turned out. I would be VERY interested to see how it would come out with stained glass. I envision it to be a contemporary mosaic. I might need to try that! Let me know if you do too! Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!⭐
Hi Tina! The sanding stone is listed under the video in the description and you'll want to go to the 'tools' section. It's a great little took to have in your mosaic kit. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🙌

Hi B Man! Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you like how the project turned out. Super easy and quick! Loads of possibilities.🔥

Can a glue gun be used to glue glass to glass? I need a fast drying glue fro my glass on glass.
Hi Kristy! I wouldn't use a glue gun. Instead try a clear epoxy glue for GOG. It's just a little messy. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!🙌
