Brilliant work once again Simon. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the art is a credit to you. Not sure what others make of it, but I do find the music a little intrusive and unnecessary, particularly while you have gone to the trouble of capturing the flycatcher calling at around 17 mins. Cheers.
Brilliant find I thought I got lucky last week at the back of my shed is a fairly thick hedge Thought it was a spotted flycatcher looking back at me turned out to be a juvenile robin !! Loved your simple hide set up ! best of luck Agent Tragapan !!
Great news regarding Tragopan. A great firm but Brexit has caused some challenges. Of the UK's making and not theirs. Great see a good firm represented by a great bloke. Keep up the good work Simon.👍
Great video Simon. Always pick up something from you and what a lovely thing having spotted flycatchers in the garden, with a bonus pied wagtail nest too by the look of it. Really chuffed for you getting the Tragopan deal, hope it goes well for you and look forward to the next update. 👍
Hi Simon, here in California we have the Ash-throated Flycatcher such beautiful birds. Congratulations on your Tragopan dealership I have four tragopan hides love them all. Thanks for the great video and awesome shots!
Cracking film and stills. Congrats on being the tragopan supplier. Picked up a copy of the Collins bird guide you recommended, the extra detail and information is great, thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Top stuff yet again Simon 👏 and congratulations on becoming uk supplier for Tragopan/ Simon Eardley creations If you haven't already I think you may need to quite the fire service.....busy busy busy lol 👍👌
What an absolute Brucey bonus that was Simon. Amazing quality footage and images too. Also ongratulations on becoming the new UK supplier for Tragopan.
@@simoneardley As you can guess, I’m quite a bit behind with watching your videos so will have plenty to watch when I have more time. We’ve been so busy the last few months - so much for a quiet life and retirement 😜
Enjoyed the video Simon. Good to have a chat at BirdFair on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing the progress on your permanent hide and the shepherds hut. I’ve been using Tragopan gear for a few years now so good to hear that you will be representing them in the uk.
@@aynsleycooper365 Hi Aynsley, were just in the process of getting the website up and running but if you want to order anything in the meantime drop me a DM or email and I can get you a price. I have a full amount of stock in the UK 👍🏼
May not be the most colourful species on the UK list but feel the whole proportion of the bird just seems right. Sadly in the past was a summer fixture along my local canal do see them on occasions in the wider area but more by chance than design these days. Something to cherish there Simon, just wished I'd have had some decent camera gear all those years ago. Love the vid. mate. 👌
Spot on with the spotted flycatcher pardon the pun. I enjoy every thing you do and thanks to your channel i set up a temp hide and got kites down feeding. But i could not see there feet so you and your posts came in very handy. i put two posts in and after feeding the kites jumped up on them to clean there beaks, and i was able to get some half decent shots. please send me details on tragopan as i think i may get the lagapus to have another go at the kingfishers. Thankyou Simon your a treasure.
Thanks Peter, persistence usually pays off in the end. Great work with the kites, I bet you were well chuffed. Drop me an email at simoneardleyphotography@gmail.com and I'll get some details to you 👍🏼📸
@@simoneardley the buzz was amazing at first i moved the camera to quickly and it flew off but thankfully it came back and i waited for it to settle on its food before i started taking photos all down to you mate.
Beautiful footage of the spotted fly👏 Good luck for the tragopan business. I have some of there gear already. It will be great to be able to buy direct here in the UK 👍
A great video Simon and some cracking photos, loved the Pied Wagtails also!...... It was good to meet you at the Bird Fair on the Friday morning (me and the wife!) and discuss many things including your commute still up to our neck of the woods. You didn't mention about Tragopan when we chatted, but I did wonder if there was a connection with you and them, so good luck with the new venture and congratulations in getting a deal done with the Company.
Thanks, you too Chris. The Pied Wagtail adults were very cautious but the chicks were very bold when they emerged, coming surprisingly close. Hopefully they'll nest in the same spot next year.🤞🏼📷
Nice to meet you in person at the birding fair weekend. I have enjoyed your video uploads over the years. Always a joy when you upload a new video also realy enjoying your homestead blogs. All the best.
Another great video Simon, some lovely footage and photos to end with, I lived in North Norfolk quite few years ago in a small village next to the Bure Valley railway and remember seeing my first Spotted Flycatchers and Black Redstarts and it totally blew me away how beautiful these little birds are, I spent many hours watching their acrobatics while catching flies in mid air, they are days you never forget 👍🐦📷 Terry

Superb video yet again Simon, I'm a bit jealous of you, I've been struggling to find any spotted flycatchers, I was at Rutland on Sat unsuccessfully looking for one following reports . Congratulations on the Tragopan job really well deserved👌💯🔥
Another great video Simon, Spotted Flycatchers are a tad like kingfishers, put a perch up and they will come and sit on it, normally very accommodating birds around people, nesting in and around farm buildings. Good luck with your new venture 👍
Excellent video yet again Simon it was a pleasure to meet you at the bird fair on the Friday made my day to chat to you .congrats on the tragopan supplier clive.👍
I wish I'd known you were going to be a UK distributor for Tragopan, I've just bought one from there France warehouse, had to pay customs once it arrived in the UK lol, great video re the flycatchers though
Thanks mate, bad timing im afraid!!🙄 Although the prices arent massively different in the UK due to import charges and taxes that I have to pay, you do get the products a lot quicker and you will have a UK point of contact.
Brilliant news on the Tragopan UK deal Si, looking forward to being able to purchase one in the not too distant future, I’ve been holding off for a while. Also what is the situation with the leafy tripod leg covers? I have the ghillie ones but they drive me crazy when they snag on foliage and end up pulling strands from the covers, I’ve been wanting to get the leafy ones but noticed that they have not been available recently.
Thanks Alan, i'll make sure I have some in stock with the next shipment mate. I know what you mean with the ghillies but the more foliage they have on em the better they look I think!!😃👍🏼
Great video :-) Simon what microphone do you use to capture the bird calls on the perch, is this just the camera microphone? I’ve been looking at microphones to capture the sounds of wildlife. So many out there to choose from :-)
Thanks Tom, I only use the built in camera mic at the moment but I'm looking to upgrade to the Rode Videomic NTG. Sound is a huge factor in video production.
