Since my daughter and I are immunocompromised, and our doctors want us to self quarantine, we stocked up several weeks ago. Now we have made a schedule of sewing and putting puzzles together. Also it has given us the time to clean out and reorganize our things (my daughter tends to be a pack rat). :) Stay well everyone.

We did a freezer cleanout and a partial pantry challenge last month and the first week of this month, so we were out of all meats (other than 1 turkey and 3 hams) and our pantry was much lower than I like it to be. So, I had planned to do a big stock up later this month anyway, but because everyone was buying everything out, I decided to go ahead and do it this week. Unfortunately meat has been a problem. I was able to grab a few packs of ground beef at a local grocery store (although I had to pay more) and a few packs of chicken at Kroger last week (it was on sale). I didn't really have any trouble getting the canned goods I needed to restock my pantry.
And of course, it was time for me to buy toilet paper too..lol. I buy a 45 roll pack at Sam's Club about once a month (skipping a month here and there as needed).
It was really crazy in every store I've been in. If I would have had the option, I would have gone at night to help avoid some of the crowd..

I’m immunocompromised and hubby and I spent $127.00 for groceries for next few weeks on Monday. Best of health to all.
We are fortunate to be stocked for about a month. Here in Washington State it's crazy. Like everywhere else the stores shelves are empty. The word is we have 1000 National Guard on the way. They will be closing our states boarders. Quarantining is necessary to keep it from spreading. Already 60 deaths and more than a 1000 infected. God bless.. Be safe.. Wash your hands!.. Enjoy your family time. 😊
its crazy everywhere. same here in germany. i care for the elderly people in my appartmenthouse. because of their age they wouldn't receive treatment if infected. i run errands every day for them. toiletpaper is my nemesis. no way to buy some in the shops. but i got paper tissues. they do the job too. same with frozen or canned veggies and fruits. i buy everything i can get my hands on which isn't much. but it'll do. be safe!!
I bought double or so what I normally would to last a month or so if needed but honestly we could be fine for months I’d like you said we planned and got creative towards the end.. really we don’t need to be so obsessed with food.. we can make home made bread or tortillas and eat them with soup or beans if it came down to it and not starve .. I am thankful I have a yard though so we can watch the kids play outside and not feel stuck in doors which would happen after 2 weeks lol I think this will bring a lot of families closer together with games and activities and totally jump start the spring cleaning in our home hahaha

No one has it in our little county but wish the virus would go away. Hubby and I are staying in and only going out if we absolutely have to. Have a great evening/ day and week. Stay safe.
In riverside county in California, stores are limiting 2 items per category to rationalize the stock. To allow each household gets a fair amount of groceries.

We've got limits on some stuff, now, too.
We did the same thing. We only stocked up on what our family would use for two weeks from pantry plus one week of "fresh food" to have on hand.
I know it’s so much easier to organize but never store meat in the door of the freezer, if your power goes out that area gets warmest first, if your meat is in the back you have better chances of saving it

I thankfully had a large Sam's pickup order already planned for the first week of March. When word got out that this nightmare was coming, my daughter went back to Sam's to grab a few more necessities. Then we went to a regular grocery store. Because I am always stocked up so well, and we have a freezer full of deer meat, I know we will be good for a couple of months. I have a store pickup on Sunday for dairy frozen veggies, and a few other things. I have five adults and one teenager here so it takes a lot of food for three meals a day.

All schools here in Arkansas are closed for atleast 2 weeks as of yesterday. Glad I stocked up when I did my normal grocery haul before all the crazy madness started with shelves being basically empty at our local grocery stores.

My father in law is a trucker and used to haul dairy for Walmart. The plain wrap sour cream from Walmart comes from the same dairy as Meadow Gold.

England isn't on lockdown yet but people are going crazy already I dont get paid till the beginning of April so I cant go food shopping but when I do I'll be doing mine online but dont know if I should do my normal monthly shop or should get more bits in any advice plus its Easter break the beginning of april so my kids are off for 2 weeks anyways for that half term so will be getting some extra snacks for them x
Here in Michigan our son's school is closed for a month. The governor of Ohio just closed all restaurants & bars to diners & is considering closing schools there for the rest of the year. Our governor seems to be following suit with him so we're probably done for the year too.
We've now followed suit! Schools are now closed until 4/20.
We have a lot of meat in our deep freezer. But not too stocked up on canned goods or fresh produce So we will mostly be carnivorous lol. I have yeast so i can make bread. This whole situation is so crazy. Stay healthy.

We are now closed until 4/20! Since my husband works in the stores each day, he always asks if I need anything on his way home. it's helpful since I don't want to risk going to the stores myself. I know I could catch something from him being exposed, but limiting exposure seems best right now.
@@SimpleWifeSimpleLife we are now closed indefinitely, they're saying the kids won't go back for the rest of the year (I'm in southern Wisconsin)but my kids are grown-up homeschooled both thru high school. I work at a daycare but we're closed for few weeks. How nice your hubby can grab stuff while at work-I haven't been in a store for over a week.

I just don't have the money to do this right now! My husband is a roofer and on unemployment right now! With all the rain days his company decided to lay off...we are barely making it as is....we are not at all prepared...looks like we got some fishin to do 🤷 this is all so scary!! Ohio just closed all bars and restaurants until further notice...I have never seen anything like this in all my years on this Earth...starting to get a little scared...this is messin with my panic disorder so bad!! Feel like I am losing it...

You and Will are much needed relief from the crazy situation. If he is back at Kroger they have big 3 pound bags of Private Selection Frozen Fruit for around 8 or 9 bucks after digital coupons. The quality is really good I can vouch for the pineapple and mango and berry blend with mango.

But Friday I made sure I went shopping and we are good for at least one month on food. I may need to go out for fruit and milk but other than that I'm planning on going to work and back home again lol

I live in a city that’s not ridiculously populated so we are just now getting to the point where grocery store shelves are empty. It breaks my heart that people are stockpiling essentials such as diapers. I watched a video of a mother crying in a store because she couldn’t find the diapers she needed for her infant.
We had to go to like 4 stores for hot dog buns.

hi, tiffanie! are the kiddo's going to have online school? i know some areas have said they will be closed for the rest of the year. toilet paper, clorox wipes and hand sanitizer are no where to be seen here. even our local store is out of tp with 6 pallets coming in tomorrow. making me nervous that what we have won't last long enough. i order cat food from chewy and ordered some extra as a lot of the friskies flats were out of stock. arrrgh we are all going crazy. saw a facebook photo yesterday of a guy set up with a table offering hand sanitizers for 10.00 each! i was supposed to see my oncologist tuesday but got a note saying it would prolly be best to reschedule so i need to call them tomorrow. STAY HEALTHY!! ~k

@@SimpleWifeSimpleLife now instacart will deliver but more expensive. Walmart only pickup. I have order for monday. cross fingers they dont cancel because Sunday p.k state shuts down unless you are essential employees
Here Walmart is still doing it, but instead of a weeklong schedule they have reduced it to two days. If you don’t get up super early you won’t get a time slot. I just go to the store myself now because I’m scared most of the things I put in my cart will be out of stock by the time delivery employees begin to pick the things from my order.

It's because of people stockpiling like this that there isn't anything on the shelves for key workers once they have finished their shifts. Sorry but it's true.
How is this a "huge" stockpile? Most families I know spend more than $122 on a normal week. It was to supplement everything else I had on hand. Plus? My husband IS an essential worker.
