    For the hottest possible extract, it is important to use 190 proof grain alcohol (95% abv, as shown in your video). Any water in the solvent will reduce the solubility of Capsaicin. Some states, such as my own, have banned the sale of 190 proof grain alcohol. To circumvent this, they produce a 189 proof (94.5% abv) version of Everclear. The 151 proof (75.5% abv) version of Everclear will likely produce an inferior extraction because of the presence of too much extra water.

      @@WhitepepperFarmshomestead Yeah, he really is a good dude, and great at his craft.
      I've tried a few of his brainchild creations and they're top notch.
      I recently sent him one of my sauce creations also. Gotta love the spicy community.
      I'm probably going to start my own tinc soon. I'm going to use this tutorial as a reference, if that's alright (my own ingredients of course).

      I've got a wax dipped collectors bottle of his most recent spicy soy that he did in honor of the UK Chili Queen. Almost can't bring myself to open it. It's like a trophy in my sauce collection hahaha.
      I've had one of the powders he made that was derived from his soy products.... was absolutely fire on some tasty Asian food.
      I'll keep you updated with how my process is going, when I start ( as I'll be coming back to this instructional)

    Using this video I made my own tincture! I favored heat over flavor this time, so I only put peppers and I only had fresh peppers and didn't know how to make my own dehydrated peppers at the time!
    So I have a little bit of tincture that's been fermenting for about 9 days and it's pretty hot! Still not hot enough yet..
    I need something much much hotter than I have right now, reapers just don't do it for me anymore.. so I thought making a tincture or buying one would be just right for me!
    Your tincture looks like it would be so incredible man! So many flavors you added and in bulk too that's so Awesome! You did great hopefully I'll get on your level one day man

    Can't believe this video only has 700-some views. This, so far, has been the most informative pepper tincture video i've found on youtube. I wanna start making my own. I collect hot sauces, figured tinctures are the next best step.
    What would you say about using something far lower proof? I've seen online you can use (minimum) 50proof vodka's? I have a locally sourced vodka I'd really like to use that I really enjoy to drink and use, but its no where near moonshine or everclear levels of percentage

    • @WhitepepperFarmshomestead
      @WhitepepperFarmshomestead  2 роки тому

      Hey thanks!! This was definitely a fun one to make!
      Honestly, I’m not sure how it would work. I have always used everclear and I’ve heard you want the highest proof possible, BUT with that being said, I’ve never tried for myself so I couldn’t say for sure! Maybe start with a small batch to see how it turns out?

      Honestly it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten, but I can say that anytime I order stickers it’s either from sticker mule or vinyl disorder, whichever one is cheaper at the time. I feel like vinyl disorder runs more sales and what not so often times I end up going through them. The prices change depending on the sale going on but both websites have pretty fair pricing!
