@@orichumo Id assume newness. these are new kits while the older ones they likely reuse a LOT of runners and till they use up most of them its likley hard to justify new parts.
I have this kit and is my favorite zaku, I mean I like my other zakus but I love it because it looks exactly like the zakus in g generation genesis games and in Gundam wars... So awesome!!! I get SD is not for everyone but give it a chance...I swear nowadays I'm just interested in SD gundam, maybe because I've been living in Asia for almost ten years? I don't know but really SD Gundam is my favorite haha
Same, dude. I was bored at the mall and saw these SD Gundams and said "what the hell, let me just buy one for no reason at all". 1 week later and I'm addicted, own 3 and looking to buy more when I go out again.
great video, the added frame definitly looks a lot better on the gundam type mobile suits. got the crossbone and zeta and they look 100 times better with it
A little thing I did with my SD Zaku was write "SD II" on the shield with white gundam marker as a form of identification. Definitely getting another one with and a cs frame to go with it.
In December 25 I bought a Cross Silhouette RX-78-2 and me and my brother finished assembling it in 1 night but without panel linings and I received the short frame than the big one.
I didn't realize the feet were different so I used the little feet on the CS kit which I think looks better. I wish I could've got the Japan price here in Texas. Between the price they charged on Amazon for the 2 kits & expedited shipping I ended up paying $45 for mine (still cheaper than the Frame Arm Girl & Megami Device kits I'm used to). I ended up breaking the bazooka plug on his back using it with a stand while shooting a stop motion video. It was my first Gunpla kit & I'm pretty happy with it.
Zaku II is the first mobile suit appear in SD gundam, just like the original. I remember the first joke they made to the sd body is they cannot open the hatch of side 7 because the position is too strange. The extension of the alternative frame is for that purpose rather than let zaku stand straight like a dead body. It allows them do their attack in all kind of forms, especially some required knees down. The gap is not significant after pose but the effect it brings is significant.
Zeta looks cool when you put some work into it. Corssbone on the other hand is awesome, because ALL the HG effect parts from Crossbone type.GBFT and Crossbone X-1 are compatible with it.
has seen this one in alot of stores near me but was always iffy since i had already built the nighting gale and the RX-78-2 in that order. but seeing it here and even painted up it definitly will be the sd zaku2 to replace my original zaku2 sd which was the sd generation-f line. only thing ill say about the nighting gale one i have it is reallly bulky and not too poseable but looks nice. but so far is the most expencive out of the series so far.
Citrus yeah have noticed with this and seeing the re 100 in a review. Though it was cause of the nightingale cross sillohette frame I felt ehh about the line but once I got the bundle pack of the rx-78-2 I was amazed at its possibility and detail But the zeta only reason I’d get it is to put the zaku head on it xD
@@citrusjuicebox could be, since there are now two versionsof the zeromaru the original and the new one featuring the green crystals. though zeromaru does suffer from the bane of insane amount of stickers while still needing paint to complete the rest of the details. though after watching this video i never thought of combining the sd and CS frames. but definitly agree the sd legs and cs arms on the cs body look alot better in terms of the zaku 2.
Hi! newbie to gundam kits here, does anyone know if the original SD zaku ii kit parts work on the cross silhouette frame? If anybody knows that would be great!
@@citrusjuicebox done... I used the needle from my dissection kit to puncture a needle tip sized hole from behind to push it out a little, then pry it out with a flat needle, no scratches on the surface... :)
How is a Sd still the only kit with heat hawk effect parts?
it's either that or the perfect grade, how weird is that?

A tip : you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies lately.
@Kylan Rory Definitely, I have been using Flixzone} for years myself :D
@Kylan Rory yup, I've been watching on Flixzone} for since december myself :)
what if, bandai made a new type of gunpla, an MG SD
Kek Lord god damnit -_-

I kinda love that little SkeleGM.

If Bandai made more niche suits in SDCS, I'd be all over them.

Wow, that proper SD form looks really, really nice. I might have to get one to go with my other Zaku IIs.
nice!! a SD zaku! with an innerframe!!
very fun and nice kit!
Great video. Thank you for the frame comparison. It helped me make an informed purchase
Put one of them together last week, I love it!
I've built 5 SDCS kits. They are alot of fun and look great on a shelf or action stand
I ordered from Tatsu Hobby and they are legit without any complications. One of my top recommendations.

Is sd msg are a good choice to get in to gundam model kits

What action base was that in the video?
If that isn't the cutest lil Zaku I've ever seen

That copper color on the heat tomahawk looks really good, can you tell me what paint it is? Thanks!

I think every Nightingale is doomed to be a brick. Just the nature of the design. :/

Also the zeromaru kit uses part of the cross sillohette frame as well but in red
Ah, so maybe that's why the GM head is removable from the runner.

I couldn't find the dark CS frame so I got a white one and painted it gunmetal grey. Also, what did you use to panel line?
Hi! newbie to gundam kits here, does anyone know if the original SD zaku ii kit parts work on the cross silhouette frame? If anybody knows that would be great!
They do not, unless you start cutting things up and forcing them on. CS frames are intended for use with CS kits.
Eh, makes sense. Thanks for the help!
Yei! A new Citrus.
sorry for digging up the oldie but i have a question about the hands. is there something to cover the gap inside the lower part of the hand?
U can fill it with cement
Nice build
The gm head is for display
Where do you find this guy?
I feel like the Char's zaku II will be a p-bandai. Also I'm hoping at some sdgf units get a updated version at use the both frames
I really hope not, because Char's Zaku is a popular design. Web exclusive SD's are pretty rare as well.
P.S.: Machine King rocks!
@@citrusjuicebox also there is a booster set at give this zaku better upper legs but it basically white.
the sd option parts kit is cool to make everything look more round and put together but imo i dont think its worth the extra money
I kinda accidentally place the monoeye lens before the sticker, is there anyway to remove the lens? :(
You can try to pry it out, that's it.
@@citrusjuicebox any tool to recommend?

I'm trying to get into gundam model building cause I always thought the ones my uncle made were pretty cool. How long does it take to make one though?
Anywhere from a couple hours to a couple weeks, depending on how detailed you make it.
@@citrusjuicebox Thx for telling me, this seems like a nice laid back hobhy. Can't wait to try it
Kind of off topic, but does mandarake accept USD? I noticed in your older videos you linked to mandarake.
Thanks
JPY only, but your PayPal or credit card will convert the currency for you.
Theres actually an upcoming SDCS unicorn and banshee!
@@kylemahabir2085 im just informing citrus
Theres also a sdcs phenex
i think the cs frame is better on the other kits
its pricey?
you haven't even bought yet the buster set
Still is pricey. Adding the Silhouette Booster just makes the whole package pricier.
anyway good review, i prefer the SD proportion over the Cross Silhouette inner frame look
SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!
Great review.
Put the armor on
going to buy this for my girlfriend, hope she like it
Cute
This kind of looks like the zaku ii from the Helokitty x Gundam Zaku ii kit
I'm surprised I don't see Tatsu Hobby in the comments
your hand look so identical to me I almost thought I was looking at myself.

Jez lol it’s so simple compared to a 1/144 scale
Zako zako!
666 likes. I dont wanna mess up with that.
oh god the EX line was by far the worst thing bandai has made. even worse than the OG first grade kits
It's so fucking cute
