That Tor intercepting your bomb was one of the biggest IQ plays I've seen from a SAM.
The TOR was made for that thing IRL (intercepting glide-bombs, AGMs and cruise missiles) so obviously it is good at it
what's kind of stupid is that TOR is a Russian Tank/SAM but Russia doesn't have it and they don't have any other 11.0 SAM/SPAA just makes no sense.it would be like when adding the F-16 they didn't give it to USA

I've seen people justify the Tornado's BR by the fact it has 4 guided bombs. But this thing also has that and is better in every other way so now what's the excuse 😂
did you just listen? if you didn't watch the video, f16 used 4 homing bombs that can track 4 targets at once.

As specified in the video, the F16 is also a far more advanced platform in terms of handling and versatility.
The Tornado is a glorified brick with only x2 9L for AA, and still hasnt gotten more ordonance options like irl to make it more versatile.
Many vehicles have guided bombs, but the difference is the platorm that makes the cut, the bomb can track 100 targets if it wants, but if the platorm on wich is mounted cannot manuver into position properly, its tracking ability is near compromised.
The Tornado is a decent plane at what it does, but other than that, its lackluster at best.

@@Skinny_El.Funky6.9 A-10 / A7E these planes fly like bricks and are slow, but the armament makes them the best CAS planes: walleye, maverick, 30mm gun. The design of the airframe does not determine whether it will provide good direct air support, but the attached armament will. P47 with mavericks in thermo is better than f16 with domb bombs.

My brother in Christ, we started off from comparing a multi-role light weight aircraft to an strategic bombing with limited anything else wise.
Now you compare subsonic strike aircraft into the fray.
The A10 and A7s are quite nimble, can cause a lot of trouble outside their statcard parameters.
A10s, like the Su25, are subsonic, with a thighter turncircle, can roll better than the Tornado with limited capacity due to it beeing an overweight swing-wing, and a thin one at that. The A10 has also that 30mm to annoy ground targets after it ran out of any ordanance.
A7s are, again more agile in nature than the Tornado, it cant go supersonic, but it doesnt need to.
It can reliably stay on target and manuver quicker if it needes to, and once it ran out of ordanance, can get the jump on other planes with ease.
Agm-65’s are only useful at killing SPAA. You can get slightly more range than the GBU-8.

Mig-27's have had similar capabilities for a while now, albeit with laser guided munitions. With the last update, they don't even render for the spaa with how high they climb.
Kinda rude the the USA hasn’t gotten an F-16 with a lantern pod to spot tanks from 20km away.

I think Mavs are awful against tanks, but I LOVE them for SEAD. They can still club SAMs like nothing else and it’s worth bringing a rack just for that IMO

The mavericks still work. It doesn’t cost any more to take 6 mavericks with 2 gbu’s and 4 sidewinders. The gbu’s are more consistent but only slightly. You still get the kill with the mavericks most of the time. I’d rather have the potential to kill 8 than to kill 4.

My Nr1 CAS is still the A7E, the walleyes are really nice
turn off "auto sight stabilization" in your settings. having it on makes your ordinance slew forward after each launch, turning it off gives you a pseudo targeting pod.
True, it was really annoying for me until I saw Hunters video. Helps a ton.
what does that do and is it under options or settings?
@@spikedthenuke7383 its under options. It resets your guided weapons to facing the front of the plane instead of keeping the seeker where you last fired.

these seem to track soo well, but the paveway's either don't track, go too far, or just randomly disappear, i have dropped them off pylon, pulled up, then pressed 'u' to watch it in and it isn't there... what
I am a mediocre pilot in this game, and holy shit apparently I am blind or need to adjust my settings :D For the love of G-d, I cannot really spot the grey tones on white background or other grey-ish backgrounds :( But it definitely was fun!

CAS can climb so far up and drop a bomb fire and forget bomb on you, from range you cant even retaliate. fun

I'd rather have GBU over the mavericks any day of the week, the most fun I had in the Israeli A4E 3 guided bombs in 8.7 is lovely
I use those whenever I can I always get 4-6 kills because they are to big you just have to wait to catch to players coupling up and 💀

I’ve also noticed that whenever a squad mate get a kill, I get “Teamwork”. No matter how close they are. Not gonna send a report about it tho 16:13
The way to fix this is to make the SPAA already use an ARH mechanic not an MCLOS guidance for the missile since an SAM would be smarter thana guy wihta mouse guiding a missile
We don’t have any ARH SAMS except maybe the Tor? Idk
@@MD-wn4ui thats why we need them already, because its getting a little harder to kill a aircraft known for dodging SAMs but we dont even have a SAM.
An ARH mechanic makes no sense, the most they could do is make them proper SARH’s and force/encourage ground to air weaponry to have continuous locks for better guidance

The current state of Mavericks is my sole argument as to way Helicopters need a more expensive SP cost while Aircraft need a cheaper SP cost.
Hellfires/other ATGMs mounted on Helicopters outrange and outperform airborne ATGMs in all categories including penetration, range, guidance, and SP cost. It's disgusting.
A7E with walleye is better because it has thermal vision and one more bomb :). The speed is compensated by the larger wings on the bombs, thanks to which it can be dropped from 9km at an altitude of 2500m and easily reach the target.
I would say the ability of the F16 to become an incredibly good fighter after dropping its GBUs makes it a better pick as a multirole
@@shinanodafloof4491 i would go for more cas possibilities instead of air combat, it's a much better solution for me because in almost every match i never have a situation where i need to use airplane maneuverability.

Except a7e is impossible to grind its mods. You are at 10.7 facing top tier jet in a subsonic bus plane with shitty missiles
Why was your main cas F5e? Why not F4e? What was better with it?
The F4 flies like a bus when used as CAS, I never found it super efficient. F5E acts almost like the F16 which was nice in its time xP

It's the disparity between CAS and anti-air at high BR that keeps me below BR 7.0 most days. Just dealing with propeller planes with rockets or bombs as big as an SUV are bad enough, but at least my anti-air has a chance against those.

High tier SPAA is able to lauch rockets at ranges of 10km tho

If you're using a Shilka or whatever at 11.7 that's your problem. You should be using a 2S6 or any of the other incredible SPAAs at the 11.0. (FlaRakRad etc.)

i dont think theyre broken at all, they break lock all the time and when you are at top tier, spaa (the ones i use like the torr) can shoot jets down with real ease

idk if i would call it imbalanced. to me it's no less imbalanced than low tier CAS. there have been plenty of times i get killed spawning in by radar SAM with their radar turned off so i dont get a ping or spike. that being said, is it fun? hell no. it's really fun to be the dropper, but to get dropped on is really frustrating. the thing is though that asymmetrical gameplay like this is the bedrock of war thunder, this game is built off schadenfreude, so idk what we could do to fix it.
SAMs at top tier are just missing their ability to raise and lower the radar search angles. If gaijin would get off their ass there would be no reason to have an illusion that CAS is OP at top tier. Literally the only time it is effective is if you arent on radar, which requires you to climb to space; which is only possible because radar SPAA are missing a crucial feature meant to combat this exact tactic.

I remember GBU's on the F4E and A10 and those were locking onto the ground most of the time.
lmao the A-10 cant even effectively use GBU's, it isnt fast enough to give them range and due to that same lack of speed, it also cant get enough altitude to give them range either. The only guided ordnance on them that is actually somewhat viable are the mavericks and even those are garbage because theyre TV guided. The only exception is the IR guided mavericks but thats literally because it is using an entirely different guidance system that isnt shit.

sorry but in general TV Guided munitions are garbage period. They struggle to lock stuff constantly and even then they dont actually track targets beyond 5-6km, which defeats the purpose of them. This also very specifically hinders the premium A-10. They need to buff TV munitions so they arent shit, and remove the artificial armament limitations on both A-10s as well as un-nerf them. Theyre the same plane, they should be able to carry the same shit, and the same AMOUNT of shit. Make them both 10.3 and quit with the artificial nerfs.
The exact same load outs have been on the f4e for a longs ass time now
And it flies like a bus with them, hence why I never enjoyed them as much as this.
