competitive games cannot be realistic yet grindy like this without causing team play to be very unrealistic
There's not much consequence for not playing as a team, neither is there a reward for doing so. That 2 F-16 scenario in the video showed that defyn and the other guy played it strategically together but tactically defyn secured the kill, even though the other guy helped. If gaijin added some kinda proximity support reward or something besides kill assist, I think teamplay would increase, even if it's only a little.
Would be nice if we at least got teamplay awards like we do in squad but with random teammates, maybe this would encourage a bit of teamplay instead of killstealing

Sometimes you can probably go 2 for 2 with R-3S/9B because you came across two stalled out people/bombers which are practically a guaranteed kill. That doesn’t necessarily mean that missile is amazing.
Defyn was able to go 2 for 2 with it because he used them at opportune targets that couldn’t dodge them. And you will not always find targets such as these in every battle.
As Defyn said, rn SARH missiles have somewhat limited use because a lot of people hug the deck

@@kingghidorah8106 EC has multiple runways and multiple different objectives, all spread out. One of the big issues right now is that even with the larger maps, everyone takes off from one runway and is funneled to the center of the map. Spreading runways and objectives out helps with that.
Although a decrease in the size of lobbies would probably help too.

@@kendellmoore8367 Blue Angels fly the F/A-18, not Thunderbirds. Blue Angels are Navy, so they fly Navy aircraft (F/A-18). Thunderbirds are Air Force, thus fly Air Force aircraft (F-16).

But on a more serious note cause it's a real plane that Japan had and was developed vs what Japan currently has in the tech tree.
Perhapse in the future when they introduce the Block E/F variants with AESA radar we'll see the F2A, it's kind in an awkward spot where it was being produced in between the C/D variants and the E/F ones.
In addition it's performance is about the same as the F-16 C, F2A's top speed and thrust-to-weight is lower but the wing loading is much higher, and it was built to use the Aim9 and Aim7 so you wouldn't have to give it active radar missiles.

It's rare to see someone who isn't greedy with kills and actually tries to set you up for a kill instead of trying to get it themselves and dying. I try to bait for my team, but that's probably because I don't need any SL and I main America with everything except the F-16C unlocked so I don't need the RP either. I try my best to thank the teammates who help if I've got the time for it.

I know you didn't mention it because you don't play it, but this thing is an absolute menace in GRB, probably the best CAS plane in the game right now. Full RWR for detecting SAMs (Mig29 can't pick up some top tier SAMs), fast, no missile indicator means people don't see your aim 9m launch, gets Paveways and AGM65Ds. Its become so prevalent that US teams just devolve into half the team jumping into CAS 3 minutes into the match.
Did the color balance/brightness change in this update? Everything seems darker yet overexposed for me

Yeah. I'm not sure where some people get that idea from that War Thunder looks beautiful.
To my eyes it looks ugly as hell. Then again, I'd say War Thunder looked best back when it had the old old clouds and water actually looked like it had waves, instead from that weird gell it formed since.
(Also the quality of all models from vehicles to maps, was a lot more uniform then, compared to now)

Is AIM-9M still as difficult to flare as it was on the dev? I can't decide between researching F-16C and MiG-29SMT(better flare resistance wins))))
I'd still it still retains most of its power, being that it's very hard to flare when you notice it too late and against people who don't understand how its IRCCM works. Against those who do know how it works, it's a bit weaker (still strong tho).
it is actually flareable in side and front aspect unlike on Dev where you just couldn't, but the main killer is if you miss the launch diamond. with other missiles you might realise you've got an incoming shot thanks to the trail off launch. 9M doesnt have that.

Doesn’t quite work that way irl so it wouldn’t make sense in the game. You can designate a point for the pod to look at using HMCS but you can’t make it look wherever you look.

I think if you're using the Dogfight radar mode those aim 9Ms will be lethal in a dogfight.
What speed does this thing reach with all 6 missiles on, at sea level? I was thoroughly disappoint with how slow the F-15A is when loaded, it's slower than the Kfir and the MiG-23...

In the launcher you can download ultra high resolution versions of planes and tanks but it is almost 100 gb so do so at your own risk

by best missile since do you mean IR missiles? because the Python-3 was the best IR missile before the R-73, since the 9L's nerf it has only really good flare resistance in rear aspect which goes for: R-73, Python-3, Magic 2, and PL-8. not really unique.

Disagree that TWS doesn't add much / do much for the aircraft. TWS is much better for situation awareness, and when the AMRAAM eventually shows up, we'll be able to guide them in TWS mode.

QUESTION: Since the update the AIM7Ms on my F-16A ADF won't lock on until the plane is under 10km, even though the missile prior to the update could lock on at 19km no problem. Anyone else having that problem? I noticed this on assault mode

Ye it's bugged. The mig29 used to have the same problem last patch. Only could lock people if u are taking off or tried like 100 times
Finally they deleted this fucking AoA limiter. Now this is the jet I've been dreaming of when I heard f16 is coming to war thunder.
Technically the limiter is still there. They just put it into the least restrictive mode. The other solution they had was to nerf everything else to be more representative of how it actually could turn historically.

You need to land, repair, rearm and refuel. When your plane in "ideal" state waiting on a runway you can hold j for 3 secs and instead of outright dying you will be returned to the starting screen of the match. There you can choose again which loadout you want to bring and everything else(flares, fuel, etc.).
It doesnt work in tank rb tho.

From my experience the f14b is broken,breaks lock easier than an f16,the aim7Ms literally do not work,ive shot at players flying straight at low altitude but not on the deck and they always miss,no i do not fire 1.30 km from target,i fire anywhere from 7 to 3.50 km

(Planes without fkares were able to see r73 last patch for example and now mig23mld/mla and F4J have to go against the new mig29 and F16s. ) Better planes don't cause the problem, lack of decompression does.

The F-16C blk 50 is not a "Viper", it still retains the "Fighting Falcon" designation. The only F-16s which are called "Vipers" are the F-16V blk 70/72 (only recently having entered the USAF’s arsenal) and the F-16IN (in service with the Indian airforce).
So the US has two vipers? The helicopter and the plane? Its another M3 situation isnt it.
@@codygaming181 The USAF IRL does indeed have 2 aircraft code-named "Viper", the AH-1Z and the F-16V. In War Thunder, there is only one "Viper" for the US, being the AH-1Z.
And yes, it is a sinilar situation to the M3 (M3 Lee tank vs M3 75mm anti-tank gun). The US military are just bad at naming things I guess
