While I am a Japan main, I do love the AH-1Z. While I was grinding the AH-64DJP, the only helis that seemed like actual players (heli pve is bot central) and that helped me were AH-1Z players. Also, I live near an air base and I see AH-1Zs fly over every now and then.

The AH-1Z shouldn't even have 114Bs, which were out of service well before introduction of the Zulu. It should be equipped with 114Ks or higher.
Also not modeled in game is the fact the Zulu can mount the AN/APG-78 Longbow radar on a wingtip station
I legit am a mechamic on H-1’s and dead ass have never heard of the ability to mount a radar on a weapons pylon on the Zulu. Is that dead ass a thing? Or are you just lying.
You know if the AH-64D got the Hellfire Longbows(fire and forget) which it’s supposed to have, it would be way better.
Cant believe they added the SPIKE ER to the tigers and are still blueballing the US with the apaches signature weapon.

And on top of that how little damage the hellfires do too. I’ve hit a Pantsir 3 times and didn’t kill it. IRL his Pantsir would have been a pile of scrap metal.

4 months ago someone on Reddit posted "Would it be broken if the AH-1Z got access to AIM-9M missiles (only two of them)" bet he must be really happy that it finally happened and boy, these missiles are currently one of the most op air-to-air missiles!

Wait to you see aim 9x in game flares won’t mean nothing and it has thrust vectoring meaning it can track 90 degrees off bore
@@mad_man_savage452 honestly they might as well given it aim9x since it can only hold 2. Aim9m still isn't anywhere as effective as ty90 especially when you can hold up to 16 of them

@@raizencoreafaik, aim stand for air-to-air missile, whilst the one that used to attack ground target is designated agm which stand for air-to-ground missile, or asm for air to surface missile, correct me if im wrong
I would hope Gaijin fixes the spawn camping issue by adding more cover in the spawn areas and increasing spawn protection time against CAS ordnance. Cause spawn areas are normally in an open field and when you move for cover the spawn protection goes away before you can get into cover.
and spaas sit in their spawn and you cant fucking hit them while they throw 40 missiles at you. Its bs rn
@@artic8516honestly I found that when I started flying low to the ground it got pretty easy to avoid spaa missiles and mavericks can deal with spaas pretty easily

@@collander7766 as a player that recently acquired a Tiger UHT I agree with you that helicopters should be allowed to be spawncamped because we can spawncamp the tanks too. Fair game iguess.
Tank on Tank spawncamping is slowly improving as they roll out map updates. No good fixes for aircraft other than your team taking them out. Some people refuse to spawn in spaa or just have one premium at that br.

Don't know why it still REALLY bugs me that Gaijin calls it HMD. It's HMCS. HMD is just information displayed on the helmet, HMCS is being able to lock weapons by looking around. Helmet Mounted Display vs Helmet Mounted Cueing System

I also like the Viper more than the Apache, it just looks cooler and more aggressive, however, the Hind will always be my favourite

The Hellfire K variant has a tandem warhead. It's better at dealing with tanks that have ERA
In game I wouldn't be surprised if it's not modeled in. B and K act the exact same pen wise in my experience.
The Longbow Apache should be carring the Hellfire L, that's the Longbow Hellfire, the semi-active radar guided ATGM that's fire and forget, allowing the Longbow Apache to engage targets from behind cover without exposing itself.
But that's "OP," I guess.

A couple of things I would recommend for helicopter gameplay is binding manual roll control and countermeasure slaving to MAW. Manual roll control will keep your helicopter from autocorrecting its roll so you don't have to keep making those adjustments and turning off countermeasure slaving will keep you from wasting your CMs when you dont need to use them.
Ya know what would be a real update for the AH-1Z? Ability to mount Zunis and their LG version, proper M247 APKWS rockets, Replace the 1980s (out of production in 1990) Hellfire Bs, with Hellfire Ks, because this helicopter was made in 2010 and is using missiles that stopped production 20 years prior...
PS, i wish the drones could Laze targets for LG weapons.

the AGM 114 K has Tandem Warhead B does not...but it doesnt matter anymore since it can Pen pretty much anything.
one other ting too put the Helicopter on Manual Coll. you'll trun better.

hey justin great vid as always-i personally prefer the apache over the viper but the viper is a very close 2nd overall when it comes to american helis. dunno there is just somethin about that 30mm for wiping tanks with if/when you can get close enough to use it

9:15 TY-90s have been sorta nerfed. They are much easier to dodge (especially at close range / front-aspect). They are still probably the best AAM for helicopters in-game though, which is acceptable considering how bad their anti-helicopter / anti-tank capabilities are compared to other 11.0-11.7 helicopters.
the akd-10’s on the z-10 are honestly quite incredible

Don't get me wrong, it can deal with helicopters better than hellfires (because they burn for much longer), but vikhirs and starstreaks (that are on helicopters lower and even at its own BR) work much better against helicopters.
Against ground targets, its damage and how long it takes to hit makes it abysmal.
@@reinyfrost3753 as long as you fire them in intervals the time between kills isn’t that bad. usually i just stay right above the helipad to rearm quickly.
@@siko9799 That is true, however, you can only take 8 (instead of 16, or 12, like most other helicopters). Sure, you can just hover over the heli pad, but most SPAA players with braincells would expect helis to be there. It's better to get into a better position (which most of the time isn't right above the helipad).
the ty90s haven't been changed recently. They have honestly always been janky close range especially head-on
I like the Laser guided rockets AGR-20B (M282) idk why but for some reason they work for me along with 8 hellfires and Aim-9M's I mean the Aim-9L's work and they aren't too much different stats-wise. They actually read out exactly the same on the card.
AIM-9Ms are IRCCM equipped, which means that they're anti-flare. The way it does that is different than other IRCCM missiles like the Magic 2 and R-73, but the result is the same. Very hard to dodge, and just impossible to dodge within 1.5km.
You gotta get the full pilot setup like that one guy😂hes insane with choppers

Was always never good but it's gotten so bad recently, think I lost 11 matches in a row a few nights ago and went back to GER/USSR as my comfort foods

what's your view on adding the OFL-120 F2 to the Leclerc MBT?
Considering that the as it is the Leclerc as it stands has the lowest penetration of 11.7 MBTs (even lower than some 11.0s) using one piece ammo even compared to shorter guns (the Cn-120 26 being L/52 vs L/44s of other MBTs). It would perform slightly better as DM53 on the Leopard 2A6
I came back to WT after years and was surprised by 9M. Did my 5 min. research and end up here. Thx for the info I wanted to find more about what those are since in game description is useless as it often can be. As soon as 1Z was added I grinded all those PVP EC maps later against KANCER 50 as well. It was such a pain but well worth it. I could write a poem about how filthy-ly dangerous 1Z can be. So many ppl didnt understand and I saw too many players eating a bait (when it comes to decision on what to grind for) in shape of AH-64 (mostly newcomers ofc)
Having 2x AIM 9L (now M as well) + 16 hellfire helped me to WIPE ENEMY TEAMS few times (especially on tank sim battles)
Soon as there is window (you can even create one if skill + bit of luck) and no AA, - hellfire missiles can be launched in sequences (5-10 seconds in between) and thx to this fact I had that honour to experience total carnage or in other words demonstration of why those missiles are called HELLFIRE 😅
Fun fact, the apaches, Blackhawk, and I think Kiowa as well are all supposed to have a MAWS system.

Its a bug you get MAWS only if you equip it instead of stingers
American Longbow doesn't get internal mounted MAW and only has 30 countermeasures. If you want to have MAW on it, you have to sacrifice 4 stinger so you become defensless. Only israeli and british apache gets internal MAW and they actually modeled.
My Tiger Had does not get MAW stock. Man gaijined does hates french heli, good that I am grinding US heli too xD
Fraps was the go to back then only rivaled by Bandicam which still exists

AH-1 is easily my favorite helicopter line, both in game and IRL.
My problem with helis is I can't seem to get the hang of it. Every time I bring it out, i'm obliterated by a fixed wing I could not see/detect, or a Pantsir who was ready and waiting. It's always a Pantsir.
Here are some basics that could help:
Stay low. Always use cover. Never stay in one place too long. Always have an eye on the sky. Communicate with your team as much as possible. Always be unexpected.

As a battlefield player since I'm 4 years old when 1942 came out, and ESPECIALLY a Battlefield 2 Veteran, the AH-1Z will remain the superior one
Now with the BlackHawk arriving in the game too and the recent Helicopter noise changes, my kid self is smiling a lot :)
Fun fact they immediately removed the payload with aim 9 and hellfire so now you need to choose whether you want air tragets or tanks

I wish Japan got the OH-1 which is a like the little bird but only has A2A and Fuel tanks let me repeat it gets Air to Air missiles only (Type 91 missile that's on the type 93) I think this could be an amazing 9.0 helicopter as it would have no Air to ground and allow for a new class of helicopter that's for fighting air targets

Sim/10 your team spawns Chariots from the Roman empire. (Italian sub tree look it up...) Enemy team spawns choppers and earth orbiting weapons all at once.

It is alot faster then a lot of Heli’s, but with full ordinance, it’s a boat compared to even the Mi-8 at anything below 20mph and anything above 60mph
Between the 2, its fairly decent

AH-1Z most underrated helicopter in game that have a special place in my heart
Hello ther!, I'd like to put in the running the Z-9W as the most underrated helicopter if allowed. :) while yes, its atgms are manual use it makes up for it as a flying AA that can tango with top tier Aircraft and even gets Maw at an early BR compared to most which can be a great morale boost against those pesky ka-50s that rocket run early game
@@MrRazgriez666 The Z-9W is not underrated everybody and their mothers know how stupid the TY-90s are.
the AH64's also get weaker engines in WT it seems... even though IRL it has more horsepower than the AH1Z.
Also, the flight models of the AH1Z and Apache's feel like boats when IRL they are pretty maneuverable, even when fully equipped ...
Also... all of these should be able to fly with a single engine... thats why they have 2.. they are for redundancy. but WT flight and damage models for heli's are terrible. APFSDS right through the center cockpit ... *hit* with no damage..

Have to agree with you. AH-6M>AH-1Z>AH-64D>AH-1W and my final answer. Nothing gives me that oh shit feeling better zipping though trees at 2m altitude like the Little Bird. Not even close but top tier it easily goes the the Viper.

I hate the Apache's 30mm, the 20mm is just so much more useful against aircraft, and a lot of lighter vehicles. If you need to autocannon a tank, you are probably gonna die soon anyway.

Yall late to this I noticed this the second the update came out since this is my main heli. Before they made it 11.3 recently.
I think the AH-1Z will be superior up until Gaijin decides the AH-64D gets its longbow hellfires. Mobility doesnt matter too much at top tier anyways since most people are just ATGM slinging.

What i dont understand is APKWS's II speed is something i cant get trough. Its basically hydra rocket but its guided. Hydra rocket have 735m/s speed but APKWS 375m/s ... WHY? When you take a look at wiki it says APKWS launch speed is 1000m/s :D Also now Israel got its Spike missiles - 16 of them. Why the hell Apache didnt get L-variant Hellfires? Well dont tell me something about balance. Everybody knows how balanced this game is.

I played my AH64D and my Peten a few days ago and definitely remember getting a missile approach warning now on both helis even when I had only stingers eqqiped on the ah64d and not the amase pods. I know for sure the peten didn’t have it before. So now maybe the 64d should be ur go to.
He can flare as much as he wants. Side shot aim9m is really hard to dodge

When helis first got added it was a seal clubber, modern AA had yet to be added, and the TOWs it had were just flat out better than any other in the game

I've moved away from my Apache because unless I use KA-50 which I never will, playing the Apache is absolutely pointless.
Helicopter gameplay might be boring to some but I prefer watching helicopter/CAS videos compared to ground
AH-1Z is useless in game as opposed to real life where it's considered the best US helicopter...it can technically even mount AMRAAM since we have the APKWS on it, which is like hypermodern.
