Myself and my hubby and daughter found our first today, we were super excited and added a little token to it.. we are going to go out each Sunday and we're so happy to start Geocaching , irs super fun and my 6 yr old thinks we're on an adventure 😀 well when you think about it we are 😀
I have a new Garmin Rhino 755t satellite GPS/ radio that i got for hunting/offtrail adventures and Im hoping to learn how to use the geocaching features on my device.
Great !!! I agree, very wholesome fun. I started in 2004, and am getting back into it again with 42 finds. It is like an easter egg hunt and when you find one, inside you are screaming WOOHOOO !!!!!!
Here in Melbourne Australia I have a string of 3 caches along a creek that cannot be seen from the main road and I get so much positive feedback. I plan to ad a few more either side to link up other people's caches
I started this when my last child moved out. I can only clean so much. I needed some sun therapy so here I am!! It's been like 3 months and only 3 trips out. I have 6 trips out and 2 finds. I even went out after midnights one morning and made my second find. I'm officially obsessed 😂
Of course they call "Spoiler Alert!" Sometimes a cache is so clevery hidden that it's hard to find, even when you're right on top of it. I wouldn't want anyone spoiling my fun of figuring it out!
Yes we've found a few on rooftops at train stations and just won't risk it but the majority are pretty much great to find..we have gone to 2 locations where the Cache was gone but it's still an adventure 😀
i am beginning to get into this hobby starting tomorrow i am heading out for my first day of cacheing right here in my home city portland oregon . i have put together a very basic tool kit bag, with a couple trade items, a multi tool, pens , my private logbook for keeping track of my finds, before i head out i will be hitting up dollartree for a flashlight and batteries tweezers and a couple more trade items any other suggestions for tools of the trade would be welcome thank you
I'm interested in trying this as a new hobby. I'm just wondering though, isn't it quite possible you could be reported as 'suspicious behaviour'? Particularly with how things are in the world at the moment.
Yes, you are right. I have met the police at geocaches. One time it was with the bomb squad, even tho the cache was approved by the county park and they knew it was there. It was reported. After they checked it out and it was labeled as a geocache, they let me place it back where it was. So yes, and you need to be safe. If it doesn't feel right I leave. I do carry card explaining the game. I hand them out if I feel watched by someone. Safety First! 😀
I have got some weird looks while searching for the cache. But I think its not to problamatic when they call police since it is nothing illegal and also quite easy to explain.
It’s not very common, I’ve only been confronted once, and I have found 100+ caches . Plus the person who confronted me knew geocaching. Dont be too worried!
When we have explained to any person or law enforcement they have helped us find them. We always express respect for the location & thank them for checking us out. In the US most police & sherifs already know it’s a Geo spot
"Rule No 2: Respect the environment - Don't hide caches in lightpost bases, sprinkler heads, etc." I watch three geocaching videos and about 50% of them are under lightpost bases. lol
I am new to this whole thing, and I have 7 caches in my area and 3 of them are marked "Premium". The website will not let me view it unless I upgrade. Is this a recent change? I'm not sure if I want to begin this "hobby" if over 40% of them are unobtainable. 😢
the bit about the premium is just BS, it totally locks you out of lots of geocaches. Half of the caches in my area are hidden on the app. Really puts me off this hobby.
Great Job with you video!! 🐸🙂🐸🙂🐸🌎 Welcome to the game we love it. I have many hides and enjoy read the logs. We also plan our trips finding caches is each county. Keep it up! it's a great game. (pscwmoms)

When we get asked people are curious and want to help us find them 😀👍it's pretty awesome..

Great video
Now you have to pay for premium to see most of the caches
Thanks for this!
I'd be afraid of reaching into trees... I'm from the city so there's that...
The premium version is pretty cheap though. It's really worth it. I think you can get it for $30 a year.
Just started geocaching again.

Lol, I just found one a couple of months in a fake sprinkler head

There are plenty of them Free but it’s the easy ones
It's not free 😕 for premium.
You started out too scary for beginners with the fancy cameras and stuff.
Yeh now the premium model gets more geocache’s to find so they hide some unless you pay which is lame..
Started like 2mins ago😂
