Great series mate, views are creeping up too. An old acronym I don't see often anymore was the GAFF System - Geocaching Assistance Finding Factor. Found cache, GAFF 1 was the goal! GAFF 0 - Wasn't actually out caching, didn't even look at GPS, thought, "Gee that's a nice spot for a cache". Looked and found a cache. GAFF 1 - Read the cache page and found the cache using the co-ords listed. Did not read any previous logs and definitely did not look at the hint. GAFF 2 - Read the cache page and scrolled the logs then found the cache. GAFF 3 - Read the cache page, read the logs and peeked at the hint, then found the cache. GAFF 4 - Read the cache page, read the logs, the hint, called a previous finder or the owner and received a cryptic hint, then found the cache. GAFF 5 - Cache or location handed to you on a silver platter with pen ready to go. (Shame!)
As a beginner geacacher I would appreciate video on stealth. I do really have problems with being stealthy when looking for cache. Such video would be very useful because there is little info on this topic. Greetings from Slovakia. Keep on making great videos.
@@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell Thanks! Im definitely excited to find more. Can’t believe I didn’t try this hobby sooner. I love puzzles/escape rooms and going for walks, combining the two is great!! Already getting ideas of where I would hide/how to name/how to disguise caches 😁
Some great tips for beginners. I loved the third tip haha. Tell the fifth tip to my dad, he always tells me to follow the GPS and get to 1 or 2 metres. Thanks for sharing!
TFTV 😁 Watched it GVM (Great Video Mate) But what happened to SGP or SPOS (Suspicious GeoPile/Pile Of Sticks?) And seriously - another great video - absolutely flawless! And such great info for the new people. This should be on EVERYONE'S list for Newbies (make notes, folks!) I am also SO VERY GLAD that you are doing another series! But...what is a Cachly Cache Type? 😎
Loved the Series of 10, returning to the hunt after about 15 years break, started with the kids, then life happened, not its time to return. It has changed so much. We would write down the coordinates and take print offs with us. Now to trial with smart phone. (Nidhoggs minus two nidhogglets)
So glad to hear you are getting back into it. I can't imagine the whole printing off coords etc and using old school maps. I have only ever cached with a smart phone. If you need any help with the 'phone caching' just ask. cheers.
@@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell thanks alot for your kind offer. Ive had a few adventures over the past week, took my toyota echo into fwd country to tackle a 46 hide trail, did 31 in 5 1/2 hours covering myself, the car and dog in clay mud :) we have also Stephen King and Seinfeld themed trails near me
Can I ask a question re written logs and dont just write TFTC...im new to this and have noticed a lot of people, i assume they have come to this area on a trip, have a huge long written piece about the trip in general but nothing about any of the individual finds, and they write this on every cache they find so no info or anything about the find at all...is that still better than TFTC
Anything is better than TFTC.. haha... If I'm on a Geocaching Road trip, then I like to have a little 'cut and paste' section about me being on a road trip. But I like to add a little piece at the end regarding the individual find. It is however hard to keep this up if you are on a 'Power Trail' finding over 50 caches in a day. As a Cache Owner, we like to read logs, but we also understand what the logs may look like if we out out a power trail. Good quality Caches always deserve individual logs in my opinion. :)
There are a number of veteran cachers in Brisbane that do not log DNFs they just "write a note" saying the cache needs to be checked. I think there may be some fragile egos that dont like having DNFs against their name.
Yes! Many great tips here. Newbie geocachers can benefit from watching this video!
Cheers mate, the list was complied by a few experienced Players.

Now this NEEDS to be re-instated... so many go straight to GAFF3. I included, have just read the hint before the description... hahaha

Wear a fluro vest, carry a clip board. It turns you invisible!
Great idea, I’ll put that on the list for the next series.... thanks so much for your feedback.
Man... I wish I had watched this when we first started caching 7 years ago! So much helpful information!
Cheers Mate, Likewise for me.
No way!!! Was listening to this as I walked to coordinates of my first find! Thanks for the tip to look under lamp posts 😁
Awesome…. Welcome to the hobby…. If you have any questions just reach out.

SLTNLN = signed log took nothing left nothing. TFTT = Thanks for the Tips! 🤠👍
Ohhhh TFTT is awesome, Cheers Mate. :)
I love it! This is great! Such good advice. And the production value is really great. Well done. Forwarding it along.
Thanks mate, I really enjoy guiding new players onto a fun path in this Hobby
I've only found 66 caches but after watching this I'll have to work on writing better logs. Thanks for the tips!
Trust me when I say, Cache Owners love reading them. You will be a CO one day, and you will see… 😃 😃
Thank you, great series! Entertaining and informative!
Very welcome, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out on any socials 😀
Great series, tips and insight on Geocaching. Thanks! Seemyshell
Cheers mate, it was developed from suggestions

Hahaha, cheers mate. Some people really don't know how to be stealthy... hahaha, big difference between stealthy and sneaky.. haha
TFTV 😁
Watched it
GVM (Great Video Mate)

But...what is a Cachly Cache Type? 😎
Cheers Mate. The new series may just be an indepth series about all things Geocaching. Individual topics rather than a glossy How To. :)

Nice tips! Looking forward to the next series!! The tip about putting the phone away is SO GOOD cause that's how we got better at finding!
We are creatures of habit, and having our phones 'Blanky' in our hands at all times is just that. Thanks for watching guys. :)
thank you so much for your videos, tips and inspiration.
found my first one today - in Byford West Aus - called horse play :)
That’s awesome, and welcome to the best hobby. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and ask on any of my social media pages. Cheers 🍻

LOL Events are important for pof.
Thanks for the giving good newbie tips.
Thanks for the laugh.
Hehehe, anytime... PAF is one of the most used, but not advertised acronyms that we use.. hahaha
Write good logs! Yes! I have many DNFs on GRCs.
Write good logs was one of the top requested, when I put the list together. :)
Lotsa good tips. I've had a few LEO encounters myself. Just have to be smart and respectful! They like geocachers :)
They sure do, because we are respectful and love our hobby so much.
A great series for all.
BOT - base of tree
BOT is a good Acronym for a hint... cheers mate :)
Great video Craig but I couldn't spot the trackable in this one !
Did you watch it all the way through??? Haha

What does TFTC stand for??
TFTC = Thanks For The Cache... logs containing just this acronym are not liked. Hahaha, Owners like nice logs
@@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell thanks!
LEO - Law Enforcement Officer :)
BOT, base of tree. TNLNSL, took nothing left nothing signed log.
Russell Moore BOT is a good ‘hint’ on the cache page.
Eeeewww and then a tb happens to turn up in it 😣 😝 Great video series.
Hehehe, you know I love the cow pats... :)
So what is swag, a muggle, etc?
Swag - stuff we all get (the trinkets you can swap)
Muggle - a person who doesn’t know about Geocaching
Greetings. Just letting you know that your channel is listed at Geocaching Central found at www.geocachingcentral.com.
Great News, Thankyou so much.

Hahaha, I always write up DNF's, as I love turning the sad face into a happy one on Cachly. :)
TNLN. Took nothing Left nothing
Thats a good one, at the end of a good log. :)
