Amazing - blew me away at their last Nottingham UK show. What a finish to a gig. Sounds like the music they'd play as the dead viking warrior is carried out to the longboat and sent on its way in flames. (Up Helly Aah?) Brilliant. What an achievement, like a great painting, a stunning piece of architecture, a beautiful landscape, some things never leave you, and this song is one of those things. Thank you Sigur Ros.
I need every version of Popplagio (Untitled 8) ever played live. It's the perfect collision of heaven and earth! It reminds me (not sound-wise) of Smashing Pumpkins "Silverfuck (Live)" in that it's never the same twice. It's beyond brilliant!
How does the singer maintain that range in the last movement of the song? This album is quite old, and they apparently play this song at the end of almost every concert, how has he not wrecked his voice? Are Icelandic people well trained in vocal singing that preserves their voice instead of ruining them like so many other singers? Very impressive!
2nd part is just beyond awesomeness. what a masterpiece. It builds and builds and builds upwards. I watched them live in Trondheim in 2016 when they finished off with this. gobsmacked...You just have to stand and stare... and take it...goosebumps overdose...
Non si può dare una definizione alla loro musica..si ridurrebbe tutto a quello, significherebbe spezzarle le ali. Non la si può spiegare. La amo e mi inquieta al tempo stesso, provo qualcosa di molto profondo e fisico
Just a little correction: the letter at the end of name isn't "o", but special letter called "eth", more info at Wikipedia. Anyway, this song is amazing!
The whole album this is on is sung in a made up language they call Hopelandic, or Vonlenska in Icelandic. Basically, it's all just gibberish and it's up to the listener to decide what it's about.
Dorothy Wilson Correct it is a made up language. However as is w any language, the words have meaning. The lyrics are simply this: U came, u saw, u sat by the fire...u r not here anymore. Had to do some heavy digging to find them!
That drummer is the King of awesome. Just... WOW.
That's Orri playing the drums xD
Amazing as ever!❤️☮️

I'm a little too used to hearing Kjartan playing the opening riff to this song.

Prodigy late 90’s in Red Square, Moscow, Stiff’s Tour ’77, Live Aid Wembley, but I’d have rather been here.

@@williamsmith8041 "The pop song"
wo kann man das ganze video von zdf.kultur finden. ich hab scho überall gesucht und nicht gefunden!!
Powerful - what is this "song" all about? I like the woodwind actually but worry about his voice being so high for so long...!

omg
I felt like being rapped
what's with the fake smoke haha
Wonderful song but the wind instruments ruin the climax of this version imho.
