It's almost impossible to put into words what this song makes me feel ... All I can say is that Jónsi's guitar intro sends endless shivers down my spine, while following the songs duration I'm left in a magic spell 'til it fades out and it leaves me completely mesmerized and with goosebumps all over ... So powerful, yet gloomy. Music that takes you to another sphere!
The thing I've noticed with Sigur Ros is that their studio recordings differ from so many of their live performances that it's gotten to the point where I like the studio recordings and the live versions for completely different reasons. Each version or performance of it is good in a new way. So it's hard to just choose one version of the song to listen to or put on a mobile listening device. Not many bands can do that. That being said, there are only a few bands of which I would buy live CDs or DVDs. Sigur Ros is incredible. Took up bass guitar a while back and this was one of the first songs I learned. The live versions of Ný Batterí, in my opinion, definitely have better sounding bass-lines.
@@Oh_I_Will I saw them as a 3-piece back in mid-2016. Easily a Top 3 live show for me. Here's hoping their drummer is able to return to the band at some point.
So pissed that I missed seeing Jonsi and Alex live when they did their 10th anniversary of Riceboy Sleeps concerts. Riceboy Sleeps may have been nothing like this, but it still would've been one of the greatest experiences of my entire life
Yes, ný batteri (spelled “nee bach-terry”) means “new batteries”. The song is about a creature that’s forcibly being charged again and again for destroying something. I still can’t quite understand it. But it’s beautiful

my all time favourite from sigur ros :)
There exists no words able to describe how great this is .. Or maybe the word is simply Sigur Ros ...
That’s two words. Just saying
the best song by sigur ros ever made ❤❤❤

Totally agree about the live performances.
As long as it’s a total live performance and No Backing Tracks like they were doing as a 3-piece a few years back...I’m on board

*music from a cold country*
This surely is my favourite one from the band
Love how it makes me feel.
Tanto tiempo para encontrar una joya... tanto
this is exactly what happens when you include your soul in a performance
Just a bunch of words...it Frickn Rocks...screw all the “include your soul” nonsense...

@@VolcanoAT89 you can hear a lot of meaningful themes in Sigur Rós’s songs)
