    Jeff, I have to say that I have had many people ask me questions about this grease gun and I have NEVER had this question answered as well, or so well, as your explanation. While I do not work for Dewalt, absolutely no one has explained in such detail how to use this tool. I commend you highly and will subscribe to your channel.
    As an aside, I can remember my father, when I was a child, adding grease to our old 1938 tractors on the farm and he would have loved to have had such a tool.
    You have done great service to Dewalt and explained a lot to their customers.

Most senior citizens are not on a fixed income we are on a broken income so I have a pneumatic grease gun from Harbor Freight but I must tell you that you made this old man's day a lot better. I need to put a new grease cartridge in my grease gun to grease my tractor. I thank you. God bless and have a great day.

    On way I suppose to use one grease gun and still use both fittings is to have the lock and lube as the primary on the gun. Then make a small extension hose with the smaller fitting on one side and a coupler and grease nipple on the other side of the hose. Now you can interchange between the two fittings instead of two grease guns. Just an idea. Thanks for the bleeding tip!

    The bad thing about automatic grease guns is that sometimes you can't tell whether or not grease is going into the zerk. But .... Just leave the pull rod all the way out. If you're wondering whether or not grease is going in, just watch the rod. If the rod is moving in, grease is going in!

    • @nexgen_hlzl
      @nexgen_hlzl Рік тому +3

      The sound is also different when there is grease moving out of the grease gun vs when there's nothing going out of it. There's this sound of resistance when grease is being pumped out and there's just this smooth motor running sound when there's none.

Had to mess with it a ton before it would work again, and maintenance had no idea why, not even my bosses🤦🏻‍♂️ Never occurred to me that was why it got stuck when you pulled it back, I always thought it was having trouble forcing it’s way through the tube lol

    Good vid. Just learned this last week when I bought a new Napa/Lincoln manual lever gun. I did the unthinkable and actually RTFM before loading it. Pretty much to the letter what you described. Makes things much easier. For years, I used to slap the cylinder with the palm of my hand while holding the bleeder button. That worked most of the time.

    Thank you for your down to earth clear explanation. Its so nice to hear good old common sense vice chinese pictures that make my head spin.

    Thanks Dennis, I never knew the trick on how you check to see how much grease is left in the gun, also like the way you bleed the air. What you say is true sometimes I think that everybody knows what I do about some stuff. It's taken lot of years to learn this stuff. Thanks from Denis with just one N.

    Thanks, Never knew that trick or how to tell how much grease is left. Thanks for adding that tip because like you said, you can't assume everyone knows what you know. I'm quite a handyman and do most work myself but when I do hire a professional I like to watch them work and ask questions to learn tricks of the trade.
