- BRANDS TESTED: Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ryobi One+, Ingersol Rand, and Performance Tool. Battery powered grease guns tested for output rate without any resistance, with 150 PSI flow resistance, and maximum PSI. Brands also tested for pumps per minute, output per pump, noise level, ergonomics, ease of priming, and battery recharge time. Will any of the brands deliver 10,000 PSI? Will any deliver 10 ounces per minute? Let's find out! I always purchase all of the products tested. No sponsors on the Project Farm channel. It's all about unbiased testing. A tip on bleeding air from grease guns. Screw the tube halfway in then trip the release for the plunger and then tighten the tube the rest of the way. This almost always eliminates the need to bleed air between tubes.
Great tip! Thanks
Yes, I've done that for years on hand pump type. And do it with the Milwaukee the company owns.
Take a little bit of grease and put it into the cap covering the holes. You will only need a few pumps to get grease through.
Since you seem to know about the use of these, how often are people using them? I can't imagine in an auto shop they would need to use it more than once per day unless some vehicles use a lot more grease fittings than I was aware.

Milwaukee is the only one that doesn't surprise me with cordless tool options. I swear there will probably be a Milwaukee M18 Butt-Wiping Grinder one day (it'd probably be a hot seller for the day after Thanksgiving).
Pneumatic are lighter. And I imagine they are stronger.
@Joe Shabidu They aren't portable,,,, unless you have a really long, long, long hose.
Really like all the comparisons. Milwaukee was the clear winner, but Unless your using the tool daily, I think between the top 3 determining factor might come down to which brand(s) do you already have batteries for
Ingersoll Rand showing unabashedly that you're paying for a manufactures brand name and not for performance.
Thanks for the feedback.
They lost out on the air impact market so thought they would join the cordless game but all their cordless tools suck about as much as white box brands.
Its cause they crapped out with china manufacturing and cost cutting short cuts. Back in the days ingersoll was the gold standard for most commercial shops. sadly its in the toilet
so this is the power of modern german engineering...
Milwaukee had 2 speeds, thus 2 pressures and 2 flow rates, and it's unfair to the others to take the pressure of one setting and the flow of the other speed and declare it the absolute winner. Try comparing apples to apples, at the higher pressure (around 10000 psi) the Milwaukee had less flow rate than the Ryobi.

I mean, I agree with you, it isn't a good value. However, it was $263 for the tool AND battery (and other items), whereas the Milwaukee was $164 for JUST the tool. So, if you didn't have batteries already and had to buy one, it would probably be close to the price of the IR then. Now, the Milwaukee is by far a better tool. @@preparedlife3114
To grease fittings which generally put grease into beatings and other things. If you have ever used a manual grease gun, your generally holding that nozzle by hand so is on straight, while putting the grease gun body against something, including yourself, whole you other hand is pumping the handle. In general that sucks.
It's really bad in hard to get areas to do that. The Lock on nozzle is a must have which I learned about a year ago. That allows you to lock on the zerk fitting and use 2 hands on that grease gun. But you still have to let go one hand to take off and move to another and grab the gun with both hands again. Also sometimes the little ball that seals the zerk fitting gets stuck and you can't get the grease in with a manual grease gun.
With a powered grease gun. You can hold it and operate with one hand, and use your other hand to move th nozzle from one zerk to another quickly. If you use a locking nozzle, you don't even have to hold it in place. You also end up with a lot less waste of grease that tends to squart out around the nozzle at the same time it goes into the zerk. The power guns also have more force. So with locking nozzle you can generally force grease past a zerk.
Zerk fittings allow you to put grease into things without having to take things apart to get grease inside.
@@jbdragon3295 Anyone that has to load track adjusters on excavators, dozers, or track loaders either has a powered grease gun or a sore wrist and an angry disposition.
I’m noticing a trend with Milwaukee tools... seems like they win or place in everything
They make a couple of turds but overall they have a very comprehensive and capable line of tools. Their Fuel stuff is just amazing. My M12 Fuel stuff goes neck and neck with my 18V bigger tools (Ryobi, DeWalt and Ridgid).
I remember when everyone around where I am bought DeWalt because it was much cheaper than Milwaukee. Now everyone is switching to Milwaukee when their DeWalt starts going to hell because Milwaukee cut the prices and kept the quality.
MILWAUKEE FTW
DeWalt wins top shelf in their chainsaw and older impact drivers.
Thanks for the feedback.
Hmm... That Ingersol Rand seems suspiciously like a run of the mill unbranded gun that's been badge engineered.
Thanks for the feedback.
The Ryobi and Milwaukee are probably made in the same plant as well, since they are owned by the same company.
The IR looks to be a rebadged PT tool.
Everything from IR is just rebranded. They are the rebranding champs!

Nicad is generally much cheaper than lithium to implement, especially on charging circuitry. You don't need any balancing or cutoff circuitry to charge a nicad battery. An old school transformer and rectifier work fine to charge them, lithium is hideously complicated by comparison to charge.

Milwaukee seems to have their shit in gear at the moment. Hopefully they keep that way and give makita and Dewalt a run for their money and create a competitive market.

All I see around the job sites is Makita, Milwaukee, and DeWalt.

Best thing about the milwaukee Grease Gun is that you can select between constant or 1-10 pumps per trigger pulled. Its sometimes actually pretty hard to know how much grease you have put into something with these electric greasers, especially if its in a spot where you cant see much, you end up guessing and its either not enough or you have made a massive mess and wasted grease.

Yes, the tools are great, but the batteries are just too conservative with their protection circuits and cut out quickly when under heavy load- didn't happen in this test, but you can see the Milwaukee batteries crapping out in other tests well before the other brands even though the tool itself was doing pretty well before the battery pooped.. Project Farm: We're gonna put that to the test against Milwaukee, Ryobi, Dewalt, etc.
Thats a dumb comment.
To The GAMES your comment is even more dumb lol.
Nasa tools have to work at temps lower than that found on the planet so it'd be hard to compare.
I have been using a pneumatic grease gun and impact gun for years and bought the Ryobi. I decided it was time to go cordless just like I did with my 1/2” drive impact gun. After extensive research I bought the Harbor Freight Earthquake XT 20 volt 1/2” drive cordless impact and couldn’t be happier. The Earthquake hits like a jackhammer. I have yet to find a fastener it can’t remove. I also bought the Ryobi grease gun and I’m very happy with the purchase. I have a whole collection of Ryobi tools that have served me well for years. I upgraded to the lithium 18 volt batteries and have several of them. Buying the grease without the battery was a no brainer for me. Just wanted to send you a big thanks for another unbiased Project Farm review. You are my go to guy whenever I need a new tool...!
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
My take away: Buy the brand that matches the batteries you already have.
Thanks for the feedback
Unless it’s Ingersoll Rand.
Generally what I do. At work I use Milwaukee, at home Ryobi.. I will never use a grease gun at work so ryobi for me at home
Lucky me! I have all Milwaukee power tools.
I have milwaukee, Dewalt and Ryobi and the universal battery adapter so they're all using Dewalt batteries.
He is just great, i didn't even know there was such a tool. Thanks man
You are welcome!
Milwaukee does offer one with a shoulder strap. That’s what the loop on the front and the pop out loop on the handle are for
I was looking at buying a Milwaukee grease gun and this just made my mind up, thanks for the effort you put into your vids, they are no bullshit and unbiased. Cheers Gaz
You are welcome!
I have the Milwaukee its an animal. Ive pushed tracks in the dead of winter and couldn't bog it out
Impressive!
I’m a new subscriber but I wanted to echo the other comments and say thank you for the time you spend on testing and making videos; they are really great!
Thank you very much!!
I just love when "we are gonna test that!"
Thank you!
Watched a few comparison videos of yours in the last hour or two.... And you are doing a good job at making me glad I've invested my money in the Milwaukee ecosystem
Thank you very much!
Been waiting on this one!
Thank you very much!
Would love to see a comparison on 1/2 impacts! Also thanks for getting right to the point with your videos!
Thanks for the video suggestion!
As someone who watches Ave, when i saw the pressure gauge heading for 10 thou i was thinking time to get the f*ck outta there. Awesome review Todd.
lol. Yes, I was behind a wall during the test
ITS GONNA CHOOCH!!!@
I have the milw 12v gun. Love it. Had a couple stubborn zerks, pushed grease right thru the plug. It's a keeper. Two tubes of grease on the smallest battery, no complaints there.
Thanks for sharing.
It’s like Christmas 🎄 keep getting amazing content.
Thank you very much!

@@marshfield01 bro it's called being efficient, I got shit to do, 30 seconds max 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for another.great vid. Best greasing job I ever saw was when a mechanic installed several zerk fittings on coworkers 10 drawer machnist box and hooked up a air power greaser and filled box up with exrta heavy thick green grease. Box looked like a beating heart while he was doing it. Took the guy at least 4 hours to clean up.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I will be buying a Milwaukee tomorrow. It's nice to see your reviews before I make my purchases!
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing.
Seriously love when he says “we are going to test that” you can see his personality in it. 😂🤣😂
Thanks!
A very well done and complete video, covering more topics than I knew existed. What a helpful way to shop! I am a Milwaukie guy, and you made my choice so easy! Thanks for your descriptive, detailed helpful video and voice over:)
Thanks so much!
Well the Ingersol Rand is quite a disappointment for the price.
My guess the IR is a re-badged entry level PT tool. Made in the same Chinese plant.
Ir has significantly weaker price control than Milwaukee or dewalt, which means you’re much more likely to find it a lot cheaper than msrp.
Don't need half the tools on here, I'm all for milwaukee. But the testkng you do is amazing. Been watching your videos for a while now and just noticed I have never subscribed(will do that now), they always come up on recommendations. Great channel.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
I have issues with my hands and difficulty using a manual grease gun. I chose the Dewalt because I already had the batteries and charger for my other Dewalt tools. Otherwise I am very happy with it, it gets a lot of use. Thanks for your informative videos.
You are welcome.
How is your Dewalt grease gun holding up?
I love your channel so much, it has helped me save tons of money. I recently purchased a gas detector online to detect a gas leak I've been smelling, and I thought that'd be a great future video idea. It'd be awesome to see a bunch of gas leak detectors tested against different gasses (Propane, Sewer (Hydrogen Sulfide), Natural Gas, etc.) and how effective they are to their claims.
Thanks for the video idea.
Ryobi wooping the ass of ingersol rand with their ludicrous prices was great entertainment !
