  • Alien fossils found in a meteorite?! Sounds amazing, but the science isn't there. And that's not the only example of hyped stories turning out to be, well, nothing. Trace gives you tips on how to tell the difference between science, and pseudoscience.

    I did not understand my parents. I was placed in Catholic Religious Education courses so as Catholic, I was baptized, and confirmed in the Catholic Church. Then, my dad talks about aliens and government conspiracies theories. My classmates in my regular schooling suspected my parents, because some of them never forgot me, but I never wanted to talk to my classmates again.

    • @dutchik5107
      @dutchik5107 4 роки тому

      @AbdooMs EG free energy is like those perpetual motion machines. The way to catch it will always cost money. But for all sources you need to have an energy input. This can be elecfricity or burning stuff, but also movement and those things.
      Sunlight is also one of these things you can capture energy from. That's why the panels are dark. Absorbing light energy.
      Further it is as close to "free energy" as we can get

    I read the whole Global warming argument a little below my comment, and i just have to say, those guys are my favorite pseudoscientist. none of them listen in physics class and none of them looked up anything while typing, and the best part is that none of them really knows how it works.
    My favorite Pseudoscience is "Global warming is fake" because the ones who claim it always give such bad arguments for their claims. It's entertaining to watch hillie's claim otherwise.
    And fun fact: Denmark has had three huge storms in the last year ( Alan, Bodil and Carl) before them, in my lifetime, we've only had another two.... just saying... three storms in an otherwise calm winded place...

      Best pseudoscientists: those following the church of climatology.
      Ugh, it seems everyone gets climate “information” from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). InterGOVERNMENTAL. Why doesn’t that throw EVERYONE into rage, or at least a critical thinking mode of evaluation? This is a GOVERNMENT-sponsored, GOVERNMENT-funded entity, predisposed to believing that climate change is a problem, hence of course, in need of a solution. Hmmm, no solution required, no $ to the “rescue.” It’s sad, but the entire movement has been politicized beyond repair. I implore you to think critically - educators often talk about how not employing critical thinking is damaging; rote and teaching to the test isn’t in our best interest, etc. Global climate change began about 4.5 billion years ago. Now, we are to be surprised, moreover alarmed, it hasn’t ceased? In historical perspective if we put the history of climate change equivalent to a year, the “critical” time referenced of the alarming change is ~1/5 of a second (late 1970s-~2000), roughly the time it takes you to read “1/5 of a second.” Key Note: early 70s are not included because “experts” warned we were going into an ice age. What’s worse, that 1/5 of a second is well within the normal range of natural variability and was in no way unusual compared to earlier episodes in earth’s climatic history. If you have not already, AT LEAST get a NON-governmental point of view. The Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) is multi-national, has true scientists, and IS NOT influenced by politics or gushes of $ coming in to persuade them to create a problem, which in turn, forces more $ to them and their interests to create a “solution.”

    • @JoeSmith-jd5zg
      @JoeSmith-jd5zg 10 років тому

      vmwindustries, I bet you are glad you were not alive several centuries ago as you'd have been devastated by the little ice age. Think, no social media to try to get more people to light fires to combat the devastating "man-made" global cooling. Get a clue moron; global climate change began about 4.5 million years ago. The arrogance of you thinking it will stop now, since YOU have determined this is the appropriate climate of the multitudes of climates that have and will exist, and/or that actions you and/or others take will stop it (for the first time in 4.5 million years mind you) is pathetic. Face it, the battle you are fighting an impotent political battle that has NOTHING to do with science.

    • @JoeSmith-jd5zg
      @JoeSmith-jd5zg 10 років тому

      Better yet, you do a little research from an entity that is not driven to create/maintain a "problem" to keep their funding line flowing. One such as the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC). It's multi-national, has true scientists, and IS NOT influenced by politics or gushes of $ coming in to persuade them to create a problem, which in turn, forces more $ to them and their interests to create a “solution.” The whole Climategate crew is nothing short of a cult; but hey, what kind of major cult can thrive without sheep-like behavior of followers shoving money at them?

Doesn't matter unless your the small percentage of the population that has Celiac. GMO bad? last time I check lots of claims were debunked with independent researchers about their claims. Even so it's been heavily researched and so far the byproduct of all these GMOs are a fatter society, meaning no one is going hungry.

    String 'theory' is mostly in mathematics phase. I think the only experiments we can go on are the ATLAS-like ones. They are expensive though. You could say that is is bullshit because of no experimental evidence, but so could you say about the Higgs (before 2012-ish). The reason we think it's right is because it fits within the world of mathematics (as with Higgs). This is how many big particle physics discoveries have started out. It's in the starter phase.

    yep.. THAT is, up to this day, mostly a question of interpretation - of ancient history and art / artifacts, and believe. ^ ^ I like the idea though, it is very, yeah, convincing and all, but until no aliens show up, nobody will EVER find out because we can not travel back in time to visit those old days.. ^ ^ so, It will be an endless debate.

    By intelligence I mean like humans, things that can think, have ideas, create things from scratch, unlike non-humans which live mostly by instinct, with a few species being able to do limited things.

    The word "quantum" is a much misused word in new-age-hippie-stuff. Like "Quantum medicine" and "Quantum spinal alignment". If they say quantum and it's not quantum physics, it's probably bullshit.

    No, I'm not. As such, I leave it to people in the relevant field to debunk the bad science in their own field. A person who is in a different field, albeit somewhat related, doesn't do much to persuade anyone by complaining about a person. At least, that's how I see it.
