For a moment I was confusing this location with Grampians NP. I Spent 6 weeks in Australia in 2022. Such amazing memories. I have a GSW690 and these cameras are wonderful for helping you slow down and enjoy the process of your photography.
Ah man, wish I was back in Oz now. Great place and good people.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Maybe one day you should pick up a camera and give it a go yourself sometime!

Great pictures. I am really into B&W photos. I like how you went step by step to how you created your shots. I t gave a greater understanding of the craft.

Hi, g'morning Alex. at least for me, it's morning. I'm in Barbados . Yeah, I did enjoy the video. As you said, I also liked the first 2 images but in reverse order...as for the 3rd and 4th, I'm thinking just a hint of a burst of flash from the left as we viewed the image , especially #4 or you could try the image at a differenttime of day to get that back lighting...here in Barbados we don't have areas as vast as you do in Australia but that's the sort of photography that I love, so keep shooting and I'll be looking out for your images in future..have a great day safely...

Thank you, mate! I really appreciate you getting back to me with such thoughtful feedback. I'll bet Barbados is very different to where I shot this video, but beautiful all the same. Apologies it's taken a long time for me to get back to your comment, but I'm trying to get back out on UA-cam again and put out more of my work.

Not sure if I'm here for the photography or to see the amazing Australian landscapes that I still miss after 15 yrs 🤔...bit of both perhaps

Nice video Alex! I really enjoyed seeing your photography in an Australian forest. It brings back memories from four trips that I took to Australia between 2008 and 2012.

Nice video. Haven’t seen you before. Just on my first roll of film & looking for ideas in Australian bush which is also new to me so thanks.

Nice video, and that location in Victoria looks like a calming place to walk around. I actually liked the third photo as my favourite from the set. Keep up with the videos

Thanks, man! Still need to work on talking to the camera, but it was good trying something different and being a bit more talkative this time around. Definitely, something I'll keep working on in the future.

Thanks Mariana! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's a beautiful park, I'm sure you'd love it if you ever get the chance to make it all the way down here from Spain!
I'd love the chance to see a few places out your way too.

You are so lucky having those Lyrebirds come out to feed, I've been going up to the ranges for the past 50 years and have only spotted them three times , never have been able to capture an image though. Like the tree shoots.

Wow, I didn't know it was so rare to see them out that way! It was a really lucky coincidence I happened to have the camera in my hand when I saw them, they were there for a quick moment and disappeared into the bush soon after.

Thanks for sharing your photographic journey
Lovely to see pictures from places I probably never experience with my own eyes
Have you tried pushing your bw Film about one or even two stops - I know it’s an open secret but personally, I really do like the look of it
Love to photography from Germany :)
    Thank you

No worries, thank you for taking the time to watch. Pushing film is something I haven't ever done actually!
Although, I'll be giving it a go with a roll of colour film I shot recently that I fear was a bit underexposed so we'll see how that goes.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Apologies it's taken so long for me to get back to you, I've just recently decided to come back to UA-cam and give it another go.

I’m new to your channel & enjoyed your video. talking through your settings on each shot is great. I have only shot a couple of rolls of Pan F on 35mm but love the way it renders tones. Your photos have encouraged me to try it on medium format. thanks for sharing & keep going Alex!

    • @alexforsythphoto
      @alexforsythphoto  3 роки тому

Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words, Andrew!
It's a great stock and has become my favourite/go to black and white roll, you should definitely give it a go on medium format.
It's been a while since posts because of lockdown here in Melbourne, but stay tuned, now that things have opened up again, I hope to be out again and shooting more stills and videos before long.

Beautiful video. I am not knocking the photos you took (long low branching, dead and rotten tree trunks) but the light filtering through foliage just after you enter the park is exquisite. I am jealous. Kinda shows the capability of the (digital) video camera. Looking forward to seeing B&W photos from within the forest. Don’t be afraid to use faster film
