Heart disease stands as one of the foremost global killers, claiming the top spot as the leading cause of death among women. With numerous factors contributing to its development, the future lies in precision cardiology-individually, customized, and prevention-focused. Today's episode is a deep dive into endothelial health and the journey to becoming heart attack-proof
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with Dr. Michael Twyman and Dr. Neel Patel to discuss endothelial and cardiovascular health. Dr. Twyman shares his approach to assessing an individual’s risk of heart disease, metabolic health, and the importance of nitric oxide. Dhru, Dr. Patel, and Dr. Twyman discuss the role of genetics and the bloodwork you can order on your own and through a traditional healthcare system. They also discuss the diet and lifestyle for optimal heart health, supplements that should be incorporated into your daily routine, and the role of statins.
Dr. Michael Twyman is a board-certified cardiologist focusing on the prevention and early detection of heart disease. Dr. Twyman completed his cardiovascular training at St. Louis University after he completed a four-year active-duty tour as an internist at Naval Hospital Beaufort. He has been in private practice since 2012 and uses the best of conventional, quantum, and Functional Medicine and biohacking to get to the root cause of his patients’ cardiovascular issues.
In this episode, Dhru, Dr. Twyman and Dr. Patel dive into:
-Microplastics and cardiovascular health
-How to approach vascular health and what is endothelial health
-Traditional versus Dr. Twyman’s approach to the risk of heart disease
-Glycocalyx: what damages it and what supports it
-How to approach metabolic health
-The role of nitric oxide
-Photobiomodulation recommendations
-Nitrates in your diet, testing nitric oxide levels, and Dhru’s results
-How does high blood pressure start
-The role of genetics

I am posting this comment half way through my first listening and I want to say this is the single most intelligent and informative presentation on cardiac health I have come across. I am certain it would put to shame the majority of physicians, including cardiologists with respect of the information they provide to their patients or even the knowledge they themselves have. A true public service. Thank you Dhru - for this and all the other excellent podcasts you produce.
There are clinical trials how to prevent or reverse heart disease since1990 ( Dr Dean Ornish book which I discovered and bought in 1996 on holiday in Auckland , NZ. Thant book changed my understanding of, my life and my medical practice as a professional surgeon.Knowledge are their for those looking for advances . All medical professionals are expired in knowledge and it is not their fault because we are not taught why ? We are taught treatment and not prevention. Market can not make money from healthy people, money from the chronically sick. All these knowledge I know since 1996 because love learning and have open mind. To be honest like this you as a doctor will be poor not rich you will lose your job. They ask you politely to resign because you don’t follow guidelines. Medicine is controlled.Doctors are regulated by the system not free especially in IK , Arab world. My places of experience.
Thank you for your feedback. I love to help educate people on how to take control of their cardiovascular health
This is amazing! Dr. Twyman is my cardiologist, and he is a fantastic physician and person. I appreciate this interview very much!
He is my cardiologist too. Great doctor!

So how do yo get the plastic out of your system?
Sweating.
@@vince1229
Then take a shower or become a barbie😂
It's nano plastic so it's not likely. Zeolite?
You can't.
Total BULLSHIT
One way you can protect yourself from microplastics is to nose breath! Microplastics are approximately 1micron. The nose can filter down to .5 microns. This is free yet no one talks about it. Get the book "Why are you sick? How to reclaim your health with the ultimate health model ". It will explain all this.
Amazing. Thank you for this information
Could you add timestamps? Thanks.
I just had the health of my Glycocalyx measured with a device called Glyco-Check. It is a camera they put under your tongue and they take videos of you red blood cells traveling through your micro-vascular. It’s amazing 🤩
Wow! He is an amazing teacher 🙏🏼
I appreciate the advanced level of this talk. I, for one, can follow. I'm fascinated with physiology and this info was next level.
Good information, however Dr. Twyman was difficult to understand at times, so I changed to a slower setting ... but even then some words were difficult to understand. Thanks to Dhru for asking the right questions!
Thanks for a lot of helpful information.
Excellent. Primarily understand 7 essentials for good health
That's better than dying slowly and miserably.
Dont drink on bottles.
Get glass nd pour the water
So how do you get the plaque out?
Systemic enzymes nattokinase serrapeptaise
Vitamin k2 and nattokinase .serrapeptase
$120 a month for a health subscription! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I haven't seen a Super Bowl in 8 years because I had to cancel my TV subscription. I have no idea what Netflix is and I'm going to spend $120 a month on a health subscription. All the podcasters are multi millionaires so they can do it.

I had an eco, stress test and nuclear x-ray I was told it all looks Good a year later to the month I had a heart attack. Two stents were put in. Why didn't these tests show my arteries were clogged and I was headed for a heart attack?
Very informative podcast 😎👍 Too many UA-cam ads

Why didn't I get them??

What is the name of the beet juice?
Just logged onto listen to the part about Statins and find the sound muffled - also Dr Twyman is talking very fast, assuming we all know the names of the medication he is mentioning. Maybe your listeners do know about this stuff - but not all of us.
Change the playback speed to 75% when you hear a fast talker. It helps with comprehension. Speed it up with a slow talker like Dr. Gundry. Also read the transcript for more clarification.
So at 1:27 mark, the incident of heart attack and stroke or death occurs three years AFTER surgery?
Which surgery?
I heard that too
yes ,only for people who have micro plastic in their body
What are stents made of?
Do all those people over 100, who are active and mostly independent... Do they have that perfect less than 120/80 .... especially the one's who eat whatever they want.....
He is wearing shooting glasses like Dave "Charlatan Extraordinaire" Asprey wears. Asprey is also a proponent of seasonal eating. It is based on colon derived science.

😮Peter Attia filmed a short video recently about biohackers. Despises their existence. Asprey is the worst of the narcissistic bunch, and when they interview each other, it is nauseating.
The venison dried meat that Peter's buddys hustle are from deer that Peter hunts in Hawaii
Dhru, please bring Dr Malcolmn Kendrick also in your show. In his book, The Clot Thickens, he writes a lot also about the Glycolalyx/Endothelial lining link with CVD. Dr Twyman was excellent in explaining this also in this recording but touched upon it amongst lots of other topics. Thanks for this episode, was excellent.
Which blood tests can you use to determine that you are hyperabsorber or extra producer of LDL?
Cholesterol Balance test. Available with Boston Heart Diagnostics. Also Empower DX has a home lab kit that does this test via a finger stick and the dry blood spot kit is mailed back and you get a result in about a week
Nothing to do with certain injections. Nattkinase serrapeptaise clean the blood systems by breaking up the biofilm.
So can we still drink the water in plastic bottles if we pour them into a glass bottle or cup?
IMO: The problem is the water has been stored in plastic and has absorbed micro plastic. Some of the more dense plastic is OK but it’s safer to buy in glass bottles if you don’t know the codes etc for the different plastics. Also if you have PVC plumbing you should attach a water filter to your tap. Tastes better too! 😊
About how long that water has been in the plastic bottle. Then you pour into a cup at my only sit there for a few minutes while you drink it while it’s being stored in that bottle is absorbing all the chemicals until you buy it and drink it I’ll even had water that tasted like plastic.
@@sandyfoot I just find it to be so expensive to keep buying the glass bottles but the filter sounds great will have to look into that. Thank you 😊
Best treatment for atherosclerosis: Vitamin C
Why do we get infarctions of the heart but rarely of other organs?
Why do we get ARTERIO-sclerosis, but not VENO-sclerosis?
If "high cholesterol" is the cause of clogging your arteries, why doesn't it clog the arteries in your finger, your nose or the smallest capillaries in your toe?
Scurvy = No vitamin C in your diet.
Symptom: Your blood vessels break and you bleed to death. Think of the sailor of the past.
Scurvy of the heart = Just enough vitamin C from food.
Symptom: Arteries around the heart are not strong enough to resist high blood pressure. Damage is repaired with cholesterol LP(a) to prevent worse. After years of repair, your arteries become clogged.
A guinea pig can also not synthesize vitamin C by themself, just like humans, and needs supplementing 50 mg vitamin C every day and weighs only 1 kg.
1 orange = 50 mg vitamin C.
Do you really think that 75 mg vitamin C for YOU is enough? What is your weight?
Enough vitamin C supplement of at least 3000 mg. per day creates strong collagen tissue for strong and flexible arteries. Cholesterol is not needed as a repair agent. Cholesterol in your coronary arteries is broken down and burned in your liver.

Can anyone recommend a water filtration system for an rv? It it called "Berky" that I've heard about? Can't remember. Please help! I have plaque in my aorta and carotid arteries.
Look at ProOne water filters. They are like Berky but have a better filter on them.
Research the fibrolyic enzymes like nattokinase, serrapeptase, and Lumbrokinase. Stop eating sugar and processed foods. Check for insulin resistance with a FASTING INSULIN test. And get your inflammation markers down by improving the making of NO, nitric oxide. Dhru’s interview of Dr, Nathan Bryan is the best one on UA-cam for learning about NO.
🥩🧈🥓🥚🐟🌊🧂 Does the trick. I.e. a plant-free diet. At least cut the carbs and seed oils. Never eat processed food.
Excellent!
