Great video!!! You don't realize how many leave us in a given year. Sure we know about the greats, but a lot of regular/good players from the past move on as well. Also great that you include the umpires and executives in this video, as they do play a part in this great sport as well.
Great vid. Didn’t know Erskine was still alive and didn’t know Herzog passed. Loved him. Had a glove with his name. The toughest was losing Say-Hey and Zeke from Cabin Creek in the same week.
Al Fitzmorris passed away on 12/04/2024, just a few weeks ago. He was a right-handed starting pitcher primarily for the Kansas City Royals in the 1970s, winning 16 games for them one year. He came up in the '60s with the White Sox before being drafted in the expansion draft by the first year Royals before being dealt to the Indians for C Alan Ashby and another player.
R. I. P. for all those who played, managed, coached, were executives, and umpires in 2024 in baseball! My expressed sympathies to who lost those loved ones in 2024!
Not a good year for we baseball fans who love the 1960s-70s era. A bunch of Amazin' Mets left us (Grote, Kranepool, Harrelson, McAndrew, DiLauro). They will forever live on tabletops of those of us that play baseball games with cards & dice. RIP to all of those ladies and gents that have passed.
Last name add a letter to Bean at 1:33 mark to get the correct spelling of Billy Beane. The actor, Brad Pitt, plays Billy Beane in the movie "Money Ball".
As I recall, the only two players shown who played their entire careers (of more than a season or two) with one team were Carl Erskine and Ed Kranepool.
Since this tribute was compiled, another two former MLB players have died on December 27, 2024: Juan Jaime (1987-2024, Atlanta Braves 2014-15) Charlie Maxwell (1927-2024, Boston Red Sox 1950-52, 1954, Baltimore Orioles 1955, Detroit Tigers 1955-1962, Chicago White Sox 1962-64) ⚾⚾
Buddy Harrelson also died in 2024? Oh my goodness! I wouldn't be surprised if he and Pete Rose going at it again somewhere in Baseball Heaven. But I'm sure that God will condone the use of fisticuffs in his Heaven and have Harrelson and Rose "Kiss and make up".
You're missing Gary Sutherland who died on December 16, 2024 and Charlie Maxwell who was the oldest living Tiger who just passed away on December 27th. Next time, try waiting until the last day of the year and be more thorough.
Yes they were not known until after this video was made, although Mr Sutherland passed on the 16th it did not become known until 12/24. All of these players will be included next year. Thank you
Thanks for all the wonderful memories growing up watching you. RIP...

Thank you it is appreciated
R.I.P.: Pete Rose. Charlie Hustle, The greatest player to ever play the game.
May they all Rest in Peace!
R.I.P. Rickey Henderson. The Man of Steel and the greatest lead-off hitter ever.
The most underrated Hall of Famer. He was one of the greatest players to have stepped onto a baseball field
Amen

Agreed
Love the pics of the old ball parks. Tom Qualters and Ray Semproch, I remember them with the Phillies.
Thank you appreciate that

Nice tribute song by Carly Simon, of course Harry Caray's legendary 7th inning stretch
God speed World Series champion Don Wert❤

Rest in Peace, men. I'll miss all you great players who put on the Cincinnati Reds uniform during the Big Red Machine days in the 70's.
They were a juggernaut.

The Mets were definitely hit hard.
Five players passed from the 1973 Mets NL Champs team.

Sorry Bean is the correct spelling. Beane is the player that played with the Mets and went on to become GM of the A’s. Bean is this gentleman
@sportsmemories481
And they both have the same first name. Amazing.
As I recall, the only two players shown who played their entire careers (of more than a season or two) with one team were Carl Erskine and Ed Kranepool.
As a White Sox fan, not a good year for us
No not at all. But at least Richie Allen got in the Hall
Don’t forget Bob Aspromante… RIP⚾️
Mr Aspromonte is still with us
Nice video but the playing history fades too fast to read
Slowing it down made it too long I thought. That is why
@@HazelCottonThat was the hard part. So many players.

@@luishumbertovega3900 I will include them in next year's video, you are correct.
@sportsmemories481 Thanks for your excellent videos, Happy New Year and Blessings from San Juan, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Thank you and Happy New Year

I think Sutherland is still alive. He lives in Holcomb, Kansas⚾️

Why don't you try going to hell instead of dumping on his video?
To the singer: Cracker Jack not Cracker Jacks!
I don’t think she heard you.
NO ONE’s crying for Pete Rose!!!
Too fast
