In 1993 we lost many famous faces including Dizzy Gillespie, Audrey Hepburn, Arthur Ashe, Helen Hayes,
Brandon Lee, Fred Gwynne, Hervé Villechaize, Raymond Burr, Vincent Price, River Phoenix, Bill Bixby, Frank Zappa, and Don Ameche to name a few. May they all rest in peace.
R.I.P Brandon lee 1965-1993
Vincent Price was also a renowned art historian and founder of an art museum in California.
Cowrote with Miss Mary Price a Terrific Cookbook called "Come Into The Kitchen" as well with a Compilation of magnificent Recipes, a thorough History of American Cuisine, and a very extensive depiction of America's Wine Culture across time. My father passed away on March 17,1993 (St Patrick day), I was 16, and he was 57 years young. This video came up on my feed, and I had to instantly click. Tyvm for sharing

Thank you for this. It was a seminal year in my life. I noticed that Marian Anderson abd jazz legend Billy Ekstine weren't there. They both died at the beginning of the year.
You definitely have an elegance in the delivery to once famous and some forgotten people in our past. Thanks for making me remember the ones I forgot. Great touch mentioning family members and friends from your past.
I remember feeling so heart-broken when I got up one morning, turning on my radio and hearing Howard Stern reporting that Frank Zappa had died!😢

When Conway Twitty died it devastated me a great deal. I wasn't the same for months. He was one of my favorite singers since childhood. He's one of those singers who just can't be replaced.

Your credits for Don Ameche are for his 1980s comeback. The man had been a major star in the 1930s and 40s, then his career slowed down to live theater and TV guest shots.
You missed actor Richard Jordan. He was known for films such as "Logan's Run" and "Gettysburg". Also, as Joseph Armagh in the NBC TV miniseries "Captains and the Kings" in 1976. He died on August 30, 1993, age 56 of a brain tumor.
You left off Kerry Von Erich, who died from a self-inflected gunshot wound on February 18, 1993. He was the fifth of the six Von Erich brothers to die and the third to commit suicide after his brothers Chris (in 1991) and Mike (in 1987).

A note on Don Drysdale - Long time broadcaster, his best firend Ken 'Hawk' Harrelson said Don's biggest fear was dying alone in a hotel room and that's exactly how he passed, in a foreign country no less (Dodgers at Montreal Expos).
Richie Ashburn would pass away in a similar manner in 1997. He also had stated he feared dying in a hotel room. In fact, I believe it was after Drysdale’s death that Ashburn mentioned this.
Vin Scully had the unenviable task of not only having to announce Drysdale’s passing midgame, but also having to call the first few innings knowing this had happened but unable to make the announcement until after Drysdale’s family had been notified

Worth seeing the Fred Gwynne movie, "Disorganised Crime." It's one of those low-budget B-movies that has aged pretty well.

By sad chance, my father-in-law died the same day - both from colon cancer.
Don Drysdale pitched for BROOKLYN for two years before the move to LA.
When he retired, he was literally the last of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
I know 🎉this memoriam is for those who died in 1993, but I'd like to dedicate this to my mom, who passed away in 1991. It's been 32 yrs, and I her as tho it were yday, all over again. God bless u mommy, in Heaven. U were a wondeful mother & person❤❤🕊🕊
God bless you and comfort your heart. I can certainly relate. I lost my Moma in 2007. It’s been 16 years now but I still have my moments when sadness overwhelms me and I wish she were here. I had a wonderful Mother too.

Andre had a growing disease when he was a kid. His health conditions caught up with him in the late 80's and early 90's. His legs were getting weaker and couldn't support his weight
I never knew David Koresh and I were the same age. And so many greats like Arthur Ashe and Conway Twitty have been gone 30 years! This is a great channel. 👍

Arthur Ashe had hemophilia. He received blood transfusions on a regular basis throughout his life. It wasn’t a severe case so he was able to lead a normal life including being a tennis champion. Thus, he received blood that was not screened for AIDS and that led to his death from complications of that virus.

Herve Villechaize who was also on the tv show Fantasy Island but being a big James Bond fan I remember him more for playing Nick Nack in The Man With The Golden Gun in 1974 who sadly committed suicide in 1993 at age 50.
