I just want them to get rid of their NFT stuff. While the whole NFT stuff is more on the side at the moment, I am afraid that Square will lean more into it over time. Symbiogenesis (their Blockchain and NFT game) released back in December. And FF7 got NFT trading cards for its 25th anniversary (the irony of FF7 being used for NFTs, lol)
If they get a better deal to have a singular system for a while, more power to them. It gives breathing room for the fans as well considering how many games and how games are today in general But i hope they do go with these ideas and more.
I really hope they remake the KINGDOM HEARTS games for series x/s and PS5. we want NieR ReIncarnation back and and offline. (As in, no gotcha version and no need to pay real money to get more materials, characters, skins or upgrades
I would prefer it if they only did remakes when they were done with phase 2 at least (which, looking at the previous entries, is gonna be like 20 years from now).
On one hand, they are sitting on a gold mine with all their IPs they could bring to other platforms or re-release with a new coat of paint. On the other hand they are a Japanese company looking to double their profits in short term, and you know, that usually means live service freemium skinner boxes with some recognizable brand attached...
I'm inclined to agree. SE simply isn't the brave, exploring collection of souls that SSoft was. If they had any sense, they'd prioritize NEW IP's first (a new Chrono title and FFX-3 come to mind).
Didn't nomura vaguely imply that there were unexpected things happening behind the scenes at that one event? Could he have been referring to this? He might have known about these changes then, and if so, it could have easily altered the development like it seems he was kinda hinting at. Idk just a thought
I wish they started this sooner, Games like NieR:Reincarnation would be fairly welcoming title on PC despite being auto-play most of the time, A shame that is too late now considering the game was closed. Hopefully missing link gets a official PC Release as well

You mean to tell me that games sell more when they're not limited to ONE SINGLE platform that most people don't have??? Nahhh get the fuck outta here with that bro 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Also I hope this won't mean trouble for KH4, we've been already waiting for too dang long
As an Xbox user, I like that we can get to experience FF Crisis Core... but it feels useless since FF Remake & Rebirth are PS exclusives. Same goes with FF XVI.
3 years strategy is nothing though when most AAA games now take 5 to 7 years to make. This would have to apply to games that are in middle of development now or from 2 years ago. With their AA efforts, i think Octopath and BD are probably the only new fairly successful Ip out of it. Triangle strategy might be that if it gets sequels. There are also the SAGA and mana series too but those are older series.
Yesss, thanks for the news update! I'm glad you showed Forspoken footage too, thank you for reminding me of it... It's just SUCH a shame that people meme-d its dialogue into oblivion, the game itself is a lovely fun time! Not world-shattering or anything, and like, not everything CAN be. It would have fit perfect in that "mid-range" or AA they were talking about. It honestly didn't need that level of PS5 super-realistic-grass-physics polish, and might have reached more people if it had been at the very least backwards compatible with PS4, or cross-platform at launch, so yeah. I reallllly hope they take a healthy lesson from this, and STILL MAKE things like that, but just... lower the expectations for it, a bit. Ya know, I actually got a PS4 Pro in 2018 to be able to play KH3 in Jan '19 at launch, and while I don't regret doing that, now that I'm looking back at how many cheap and enjoyable indie titles exist on Steam, I do wish I would have spent the money on a bigger, better PC. But, we learn from mistakes! So I'm NOT buying no Switch 2 or PS5, and saving up for a new gaming PC, which will cost more than both of those systems COMBINED, mind you, but will last me muuuuch longer! It'll be worth it. DEFFO a good point about Balan, it was just NOT ready, and honestly, could have been a mobile game they ported to PC. Could have released it in chapters! Really, the stubbornness about refusing to admit it had problems, plus the lying in their fake reviews, that really was a bad call. Maybe they'll work on that with the 'honesty' part of the 'new philosophy'
some other big news is that tarzan is public property now so there might finally be a revisit to deep jungle in kh4 or the next side game from kh4. A prequel game with deep jungle could be really cool tbh, since a lot of the books is about the parents rather than tarzan himself
THANK FREAKIN GOD, I've been sayin that I hated exclusive games lmao. I would love if FF7 remake came to Nintendo but FIRST AND FOREMOST KH NATIVE PORTS FOR THE SWITCH PLEASE I KNOW YOU HEAR US SQUARE, REDEEM YOURSELF
All very compelling and interesting stuff to muse on, particularly given how badly Sony has been stepping in it as of late. Expanding their IP to other platforms does sound in line with their track record, looking to FF and Nier as positive cases. Now put Kingdom Hearts on Steam and the Switch. Or at the rate we’re going Steam and Switch 2. 😓
I'm still worried that square will publish kh4 at all. Especially with the claim of them focusing on their hd titles. Which means their big moneymakers. I don't want to drag down on kh but it never really had the numbers of the newer final fantasy releases. This may give us a little hope but i'm starting to doubt that we will see kh4 at all..
Best news i've heard all year. I'm happy af now and I'll go ahead and support this bold new direction. Wasn't gonna buy FF16 or Rebirth on PC when it came but now I will. Since they've learned their lesson with these dumbass exclusivity deals. Exclusives are only needed for the console makers themselves so let THEM make their OWN exclusives. You're third party you need your games to sell not be locked behind one platform for 6 months or longer where you're guaranteed to lose sales and have your game forgotten about or bad mouthed enough to stop folks from buying or trying it later.
I'm perfectly fine with multiplatforms. However, if a game release keeps getting pushed back due development issues with a specific platform while the other platforms are ready to go, I am not going to be a happy person.
This is nothing but a fat W. As a PC gamer, I hate having to buy Sony's latest console to play the latest Final Fantasy & Kingdom Hearts. Bought a PS4 for Remake, and it didn't drop for another 5 years Hopefully, this means FFVII Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts IV come to PC day one Another to note Square have been making their PC ports exclusive to Epic Game Store timely and, in some cases, permanent. With them dropping exclusivity on AAA projects seemingly all together. Hopefully, this means all of their games come to Steam day 1
I’m really excited for kingdom hearts missing link it’s my first time I was too late to play union x but I bought the game anyway and customized my character I’m so glad that I can play missing link I’m waiting for it to come out this summer in 2024
Well im super excited about the non times exclusive shit. I was really upset that ff7 remake and rebirth were ps5 locked for a while. So i just begrudgingly bought rebirth for ps5 cause i couldnt wait… this multiplatform approach is great to hear
I know this wont ever happen but the IOS and Android games would be nice on consoles I feel it could work just change some of the features and focus on the stories in the mobile games I know nothing about making games so idk if it's even possible but it would be kinda cool to see.....I only say this cause I dont have the room on my SD card or my phone storage to download any of the games and I don't think my phone could play the new one when it comes out
You should look at the news. Microsoft just closed some studios and have an overall weird phase right now. They only want "high impact" games, no matter if they are good or bad. And nowadays, every game can be a "high impact" game, if the marketing just generates enough hype, and then it releases and everyone is extremely disappointed.
@@KEEYBLADE I already know, my point is MS will potentially get SE games more often so in terms of this decision, they are probably kind of happy, especially since the Japanese market is not their strong point. Their reputation is still fucked and that was never in question.
Interesting how I go from The Night Sky Prince's video on this topic, saying that this is a bad thing, straight to your video, saying this is a good thing. And not just your video, but other videos saying that this is a good thing. I'm wondering if Night Sky Prince is secretly a Sony Pony, and is against the idea of losing the PlayStation exclusivity, for a multiplatform releases. Like he littarly said that PlayStation is the main place to play Final Fantasy. Multiplatform releace or not. I love his videos, but I'm seriously questioning if he's a pony or not. Lol. I personally think that doing multiplatform releases is a very good idea. Games like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts should NEVER be exclusive to ANYTHING to begin with. The more people that can experience those games, the better. So I'm all in for this!
Finally someone who is not being all doom and gloom about this, getting tired of other channels not being entirely truthful, the $140'000'000 loss was NOT what they claimed it was, cutting your losses by terminating a project you think wont work is NOT the same as releasing it and then it fails. Also, been saying for years being trapped on Sony consoles was a BAD idea for them, FF7 Remake/Rebirth are great games and FF16 felt like an entirely different FF game to me but they where never going to make money just on PS5. seriously hope this wakes up other developers, this is a good thing, Sony are too controlling for my liking.
There's lots of nice ideas in their model, but we'll see how they handle executing it. They've got a long and sordid history with failing to keep live service titles running for more than a few years at a time (at best), and having no player-friendly exit strategy (game just becomes completely inaccessible, rather than simply going into offline or maintaininence mode). They're especially bad about giving budget and manpower to their mobile titles. These are two areas where they need to get the message that you either do it right, or don't do it at all, because not taking those departments seriously is killing their reputation.
And yet... KH Master Complete Collection is still not on Steam. I guess this also means KHDays and ReCoded remakes will remain a dream for now (unless realized by very talented video game modders who would build fan games on a KH2FM+ PS2 engine)
Just make everything available on PC. That's the first step. Why? Because the number of potential customers who only own a PC will always be greater than any one console. Not even talking about adult players. A lot of parents won't buy their kids the newest console on the marker, but a new game is a more likely present. The money acquired from PC releases can then be channeled towards branching out to other platforms. Square might still have the high ground now, but companies like Hoyoverse, who are releasing on mobile, Playstation and PC, are rising fast, so it's about time Square did something to keep up.
Final Fantasy 6 remake when? Or hell, maybe a 13 Saga Remaster. I would be extremely happy for both of those, but after KH4, even though we haven’t reached the 13 year quota
well its like a 2010s dream is commin true...once we re talking about dreams i really would love to see a str8 up remake chain of memories in an ation rpg-rogue like type of game,a renewed/polished re:coded(even tho the story is kinda shit i love playin that game to this day, mainly cause of the crafting system/dope moves and the "chip" lvl up system),finally my biggest desire is a remake/re-imagined "days" that makes use of todays tech!how dope would it be to revisit that story with gameplay as polished as kh2 and "looks" like kh3?!!
Ive sorta stopped buying consoles now and just play on my PC. Only consoles il buy is Nintendo consoles just so I can play Zelda. But yeah, im waiting for rebirth to come out on pc so I can finally play it. Im glad they are planning to ditch exclusivity. Thats been super inconvenient honestly. I think it just hurts their business because due to them taking money from sony to remain exclusive, they have limited their exposure to MANY gamers for a long time. I think they are noticing a trend that they are becoming irrelevant because only Playstation players can enjoy their titles. Exclusivity money vs Title exposure. Seems to me they are realizing they need more gamers to play their games to stay relevant.

Also thank you for covering all this news and sharing it with us!
It happened
I just want them to get rid of their NFT stuff. While the whole NFT stuff is more on the side at the moment, I am afraid that Square will lean more into it over time. Symbiogenesis (their Blockchain and NFT game) released back in December. And FF7 got NFT trading cards for its 25th anniversary (the irony of FF7 being used for NFTs, lol)
I didn't even know they had nfts lmao. I don't even care cus i would never buy them.
Im not really bothered by NFTs if theyre not cool or interesting i just wont buy them
Why is this not a sea salt snippet 😢
About square as a whole and not just KH im guessing
@@Azurenighterror11 ah good point!
If they get a better deal to have a singular system for a while, more power to them. It gives breathing room for the fans as well considering how many games and how games are today in general
But i hope they do go with these ideas and more.
3:35 World of Final Fantasy Máxima was available for PS4 and Nintendo Switch (expensive physical format)
4:10 I don't think Kingdom Hearts 4 will be exclusive for PS5, at least also for Xbox and Switch (like the last one, KHMOM)
7:40 Your mobile phone seemed have a KH case but also three cameras and pirate symbol?
I really hope they remake the KINGDOM HEARTS games for series x/s and PS5. we want NieR ReIncarnation back and and offline. (As in, no gotcha version and no need to pay real money to get more materials, characters, skins or upgrades
Please don’t remake any kingdom hearts games, I would much rather a new game then a remake
@@JNAB0212 why?
@@lucasthegamemasterporterfi84 The simple (and clean) answer is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
@@JNAB0212 Agreed. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Also, such endeavors would only steal time, effort and money from more promising projects.
All jokes and pokes on Nomura aside, I think the man's arms are more twisted and bent backwards than people realize.
Good he deserves it
Day one release of KH4 in pc would be hugeee! I personally would just buy it there.
I wish they started this sooner, Games like NieR:Reincarnation would be fairly welcoming title on PC despite being auto-play most of the time, A shame that is too late now considering the game was closed.
Hopefully missing link gets a official PC Release as well
Good stuff!
Im not worried about kh at all.
What I hope this means is that we finally get a WOFF 2 game!
😎
Anyone who hates on WOFF can kindly see themselves out the door. I'm not here to argue. Thanks!
What a time we live in where Sony is the one getting on Square’s nerves now. Switch 2 has the potential to be a serious wake up call to the game industry
You mean to tell me that games sell more when they're not limited to ONE SINGLE platform that most people don't have??? Nahhh get the fuck outta here with that bro 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Also I hope this won't mean trouble for KH4, we've been already waiting for too dang long
As an Xbox user, I like that we can get to experience FF Crisis Core... but it feels useless since FF Remake & Rebirth are PS exclusives. Same goes with FF XVI.
Are there anymore known projects before KH4? I feel like after XVI and VIIR the development board is open to focus now.
Been saying for years it’s insane for them to go PS exclusive. Glad they’re making the right move and releasing to all platforms.
Hold up a forspoken lover? Here I thought I was the only one :(
@@asuraXTC Yeah, holler!!!
W 😎🔥 can’t wait to see another banger video
some other big news is that tarzan is public property now so there might finally be a revisit to deep jungle in kh4 or the next side game from kh4.
We got some sauce on this one lets go
Best news i've heard all year.
All final fantasy Xbox and remake versions ❤❤❤❤❤❤ let’s go ❤❤❤❤
I'm perfectly fine with multiplatforms. However, if a game release keeps getting pushed back due development issues with a specific platform while the other platforms are ready to go, I am not going to be a happy person.
Ive been hoping for this
This is nothing but a fat W. As a PC gamer, I hate having to buy Sony's latest console to play the latest Final Fantasy & Kingdom Hearts. Bought a PS4 for Remake, and it didn't drop for another 5 years
Hopefully, this means FFVII Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts IV come to PC day one
Another to note Square have been making their PC ports exclusive to Epic Game Store timely and, in some cases, permanent.
ROAD TO A MILLION SUBS!!!!!!
I think there maybe some other people that might take this as bad news instead of good news.
This may put pressure on Sony to acquire square.
Is part 3 fully confirmed to be locked into an exclusivity deal?
I really doubt rebirth can run on switch 2. Maybe at 1080p 30fps ish? Probably not stable though.
good video great move for square
First sega, then ea, now square, ubisoft is the only one that needs to come to this era
I know this wont ever happen but the IOS and Android games would be nice on consoles I feel it could work just change some of the features and focus on the stories in the mobile games I know nothing about making games so idk if it's even possible but it would be kinda cool to see.....I only say this cause I dont have the room on my SD card or my phone storage to download any of the games and I don't think my phone could play the new one when it comes out
Damn Sony might be sweating right now, Microsoft is probably somewhat happy, and nothing changed for PC players
Microsoft is in the shitter. Sony is just shooting themselves in thr foot
@@glonik10 tomato 🍅
You should look at the news. Microsoft just closed some studios and have an overall weird phase right now. They only want "high impact" games, no matter if they are good or bad. And nowadays, every game can be a "high impact" game, if the marketing just generates enough hype, and then it releases and everyone is extremely disappointed.
@@KEEYBLADE I already know, my point is MS will potentially get SE games more often so in terms of this decision, they are probably kind of happy, especially since the Japanese market is not their strong point. Their reputation is still fucked and that was never in question.
I think you mean Nintendo is happy. Games are gonna sell hardly anything on that sinking ship
I’m so happy being 1 out of the 10 Xbox kingdom hearts and ffn fan🤩
I’m happy SE games are going multi platform, I’d be very upset if KH4 was a timed PS5 exclusive lol
It is
Just make everything available on PC.
I can’t wait to walk with my PC to play Kingdom Hearts Missing Link. It’s going to be fun for my back.
Final Fantasy 6 remake when? Or hell, maybe a 13 Saga Remaster. I would be extremely happy for both of those, but after KH4, even though we haven’t reached the 13 year quota
well its like a 2010s dream is commin true...once we re talking about dreams i really would love to see a str8 up remake chain of memories in an ation rpg-rogue like type of game,a renewed/polished re:coded(even tho the story is kinda shit i love playin that game to this day, mainly cause of the crafting system/dope moves and the "chip" lvl up system),finally my biggest desire is a remake/re-imagined "days" that makes use of todays tech!how dope would it be to revisit that story with gameplay as polished as kh2 and "looks" like kh3?!!
kinda not payin attention to most news but what game is at 5:30 looks interestin
That’s forspoken personally it was even then bad
[Softly:] _Don't. Don't give me hope._
I'm playing every kh games on switch because i don't want a playstation or xbox but i hope it will be possible to play kh 4 on switch 2 !
Square Enix ditching PlayStation exclusivity is the biggest W from SE in a long time!
maybe sony has stop exclusivity because they are not making there money back or they are trying to save money
čets see if square can bring themselves back
Steam deck would be nice with missing link
Square Enix saw those PS5 sales and finally decided to lock in.
So we're just ignoring their layoffs or what
I hope this leads up to kh on steam because i still refuse to ever engage with the egs
Instead of only release SD games on phones and PC they should release them on consoles too.
_skeptical due to their nft and crypto scams are still a problem, and they willingly gave up tomb raider as a ip_
Fun fact, i took a random shot in the dark and took on the reboot's definitive edition last year, and i gotta say.. _i really wish i didn't sleep on this series, i had a lot of fun_
Hope this means kh3 relaunch for ps5
Drop sony exclusives problem solved who woulda guessed
I really hope they bring back NieR games.
can all of these giant corps please watch matpats final theory xD legit i would love a world/society based on game theory. after all we are apex globally
