I just found a triple version of this! So excited to use it when it arrives. I'm probably going to use it first, then the double, and then go over again with the single to get them perfect.
Thank you. This video wasn't intended to be a tutorial on how to crochet, but to show case the difference between the two tools. If you want to learn how to crochet, check out Kris McDred here on UA-cam and Instagram.
Excuse the Caucasity of my skin please...but I've been palm rolling my wife's starter locs, and they seem to be growing really free-form than what we started out with. How do I start to learn this process? How does a beginner get started?
I picked up a crochet needle and started practicing! Honestly it was that simple for me. My husband has a looser texture of hair, he wanted LOCS, he researched found this tool and asked me to do it...AND WALLA!
Are you Kidding ME?! This Tool is The Truth!! Thank you for convincing me to get this. I got the Triple needle LOL and I wear Band-aids on my finger tips for cushion. Thanks for the Demo!
Hi. I I am going to watch more of your videos. However, did you know they have a triple needle. I already have locks For 20 years. and I’ve just been figuring out how to maintain using these tools. I got a set of 3. 1, 2, 3 needles. It took me 6 months to finally use them. I am amazed!!!! Great video.
Thank you for watching. Yes, I discovered the triple needle shortly after and agree, it's very useful, maybe even more so than the double needle in some cases. I definitely keep all three in my arsenal.
Wow this is 4 years ago and should never go out of style. I am going to attempt to do this. Im thinking that you move this tool back and forth vigorously while twisting or turning the hair? ( Feel free to correct me anyone who sees this) love this vidoe❤
Good observation - my clarification would be that instead of vigorously you want to move intentionally. The goals is to catch hair strands on the hook, pull the hair strand inside the loc/release and repeat, twisting the loc to ensure you do this from all angles. You want to avoid breaking the hair strands as much as possible - it'll happen a little and that's normal.
This was just for demonstration purposes only. I wanted to showcase that the tool could be used on all textures of hair. I wouldn't recommend using braiding hair for any permanent loc extensions you may want. Great practice tho!
Hi, yes I agree the silicone finger covers are very helpful and I use them. (I didn't for this video and prior install to show the damage that can occur) I have still stabbed myself with the finger grip on, but it's really rare. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching 🤗
Thanks so much. While this video is not a tutorial, there are some great ones available now throughout UA-cam. You will love the tool once you learn. Best of luck and thanks again for watching!
How do you even crochet dreads? Do you have a video that just shows the simple way to do it. I had a girl work on my hair one time and she went just as fast as you and I don’t understand it. When I do my own regrowth I am super slow and it takes me forever. I mean it works but I don’t know how you do what you’re doing
I started using one of those silicone finger tip covers because girl, I'd stab my thumb so much it was literally bleeding 😭 Edit to add that this tool also comes in triples now!! 🎉 Even faster!
I got the kit, came with a single,a dbl and a triple. if its ur own hair I think it's way too ruff on it and it definitely didn't get it tight lie u said . depends what u want n what works for u
Cynsational Locs because I will be making my own locs my only question is... Should the hook face away or towards my thumb? Also looking forward to new videos...
@@mystic_shaman_ the hook should face your thumb so that you can work the strands of hair over it. This way you can control how the hair is caught by the hook. Hope that makes sense!
I was heating up some hash (cannabis raisin), n i was using the hook to put in the little hash ball, BUT it stabbed me left index finger, & cause of its shape like a hook, it was really hard pullling it out, But i was slowly able to pull it out and first-aid the wound,, yours look way more painful.. Also, the little pokes while making dreads, (I am thinking we all locticians should get regular Tetanus shots) love n peace
Yes! and it comes out "Cynsational" every time! Loose ends on straight patterned natural hair can be curled and causes a "Goddess LOC" effect on the LOCS! Are you thinking about starting LOCS? Visit us @ www.cynsationallocs.com to book a consultation!
You made me think of a weird question... considering these faux locs are kind of stiff, would you ever consider putting them in boiled water to soften them, just like we do with box braids? Or do you think they would unravel?
These locs were made with synthetic braiding hair. Quality, permanent loc extensions should be made from human hair and they would not be stiff. But, if someone wanted loc extensions with this hair, yes, you can boil them to soften and they would not unravel due to the method used to create them.
@@CynsationalLocs thanks for the clarification. I guess if someone was doing synthetic, they would just buy the ones u crochet in. I think I was tired when I asked that, lol
While this tool cuts down on the amount of time it takes to create a loc, it's sooooo dangerous. I actually impaled my finger using it. It went very far under the skin of my middle finger near the nail, but on the side. EXTREMELY painful. I didn't want to go to the ER, so I managed to carefully (while howling in pain) ease it out myself. So if you're using this, I would advise finding some way to protect your fingers, through bandaging them all up or using finger guards/cots. The needle heads are quite thin and pointy, so it's very easy to stick yourself even when you're being careful. I wished they made the needle in a bigger size (could only find 0.50mm and 0.75mm, both very thin) so there's less chance of getting injured using it.
Maybe I have a big forehead, but from the front of my hairline down to my eyebrows is 3 inches. With 3 inches all over your head, your can have your locs reattached securely with this method.
Theoretically, the densener the loc, the stronger the loc. The bond is tight and less susceptible to weak spots. You may just need more practice on the technique. Keep at it!
Yes, the do loosen up. Also, these were made with synthetic braiding hair just for demonstration purposes. When you use real human hair, they aren't as stiff initially.
As you move the needle, you are catching small strands of hair. Your thumb should gently slide over the needle to remove the hair each time. All this while turning and doing the same from each direction.
the hair used in this video is synthetic and for demonstration purposes only. Actual, quality, LOC extensions, should be made from 100% human hair --- that shouldn't be irritating at all.
Honestly, it's the same premise, but takes less time due to the established curl pattern. If you need a tutorial breaking down how to crochet, check out Kris McDred here on UA-cam and IG.
Good question. I believe that any human hair that will best match the natural texture of the person's hair is best. As long as it is quality 100% human hair - you can't go wrong.
