Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro 2 Review

- Опубліковано 9 чер 2024
- The Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro 2 is a unique racer designed to quicken transitions by forcing you to midfoot/forefoot strike. It’s not a top-tier racer because it doesn’t have the springboard snap due to its heel cutoff, so it doesn't feel as fast. For most runners, it’s only suitable for short-distance races and workouts due to its instability and the ankle strength that you need when you use it. Version 2 has a better fitting upper, a stiffer midsole and a softer, more bouncy ride.

I just can't imagine wearing this version running in my neighborhood. What an unique flex! The color, the geometry.
Amazing review! Simple short but full of information and answered all my questions thank you!
Great to hear! Thank you!
I am senior.. heel striker and slow runner but the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1 is perfect for me... However despite feeling amazing I get the EXACT SAME numbers (cadance, Speed etc) as in a Superblast.. I use both for my slow easy runs of about 10k. I will get the V2 because the bounce in the midsole is like a drug..
Let us know how you find them!
Great review, short, simple and includes all the important details. thanks :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely getting the red ❤❤❤
Good review..I have raced and run in the pro 1 and as a forefoot striker it doesn't wow me if ran as intended..but if you set back in your posture and land on thickest part of the midsole then roll forward onto toe off it's very fast and smooth..looking at the design it looks like that was the intent..a straight up forefoot strike flatens out the forefoot cushioning..by using more of a shuffling strike I ran my 10k PB and have less leg pounding and fatigue..I found the new flash 2 to be a "de-tunded" pro 1 and very comfortable ride..haven't used pro V2 yet..love the socks 😊
That red colorway is 🔥
Looking forward to your Asic Metaspeed Edge Paris review!
You and me both!
What do you think about the Rebellion Pro 2? Futuristic? Crazy?
hi .i like mizuno.are rebbelion pro 2 good for walking or rebbelion flash 2...thanks..and greetings from Slovenia
I have been running in the past year in the original wave rebellions and since my second pair started to break down, I went for my first run in the 2s - they were okay. I just did 14K in them today. i'm not entirely sure how much I like these compared to the originals to be honest and I'll have to give them another couple runs to be sure about how I feel with them. Right now. I'm starting to train for the NYC marathon and picked up a pair of vaporfly 3 today to compare and contrast the feel and ride, and after a couple half marathon runs this week I'll choose which once I keep to train. Overall, I like what Mizuno has done and has a mid-striker I find them comfortable over distance.
Does it offer more "speed assistance" than v1?
Wonderful review mate! It is such a gorgeous shoe!
Thanks a ton!
A bit futuristic like some other race shoes. Based on your review they are better for short tempo workouts intervals. I was thinking the design might actually be good for heel strikers? 🧐
What are you favourite race shoes for HM and FM this year?
Mizuno wave Rebellion Pro White is excellent for heel striker. Simple because there is no heel.. For me it's an amazing feel.
Since no heel lock.. Is the Insole removable?
I've seen many reviews of yours, and I've never seen you pronate as much as with this shoe! What was going on?
Is it worth $140?
Just bought it from Amazon
I like the color but it's super hard to run on in my opinion if you not 2:30 or less In a marathon
It is a shoe meant to go fast. Otherwise you can try the Rebellion Flash 2 - the training companion of this shoe. Review is up on the site!
so nice
Wow, there seemed to be some serious pronation in the view from behind….
Yeah, and when seen from the side, you can see the forefoot collapsing on the medial side. I think this might be due to the heel bevel putting more force into the forefoot, combined with the midsole cutout making a thinner sleeve on the side getting all the force. Atleast my theory. Edit: and thanks to Brandon for providing this view in the footage!
I don't know if it is these shoes but the gait looks very bad. You are collapsing at every stride.
