I have been living in Westbury all my life. My friend was an associate of a big drug king-pin in the late 80's & early 90's. Round about that time Tokyo Sexwale of the ANC made frequent trips to this drug -king delivering large amounts of Mandrax tablets. And sometime around the early 2000's Bobby Motaung of Kaizer Chiefs also made frequent deliveries of drugs to Westbury. They didn't even hide their faces at all. It was like a regular business trip for them. Alot of police at Sophiatown police station are also on the payroll of the gangs that's why the crime in Westbury never gets solved.
Nowadays they behave as if drugs only came with Nigerians 😂😂😂am not saying Nigerians are not selling and dealing with drugs we all know..but there's another soccer team owner who started apparently in the early 90's and having a friend disappearing 00's don't know this
I'm a Bolt driver I've driven inside both these kasis, I can tell you the Department of Arts and Culture is to blame for their absence. Except soccer n few churches there is nothing young people can do. Those who make it out clean do not want to go back n be role models. Politicians politicians politicians....
Hi, thanks for pointing this out, I have taken a decision to do something about the fact that our young people have nothing to do and that our unemployed skilled people sit at home, not using those skills. I'm not in it for any other reason than for the future of our people. Our people are amazing and God fearing people, with mountains of faith. I was motivated to leave my job and form a non-profit to facilitate something good in our communities. I grew up in Eldorado Park and want to make sure that our children have choices, doesn't everyone want that too? We do not give birth and raise kids to be nothing in this world, our marginalised communities deserve access to opportunities too. I was born in Coronationville hospital, my family is from New Clare, my inlaws live in Westbury and Coronationville. My family live in Riverlea, Eldorado Park, Ennerdale, my friends live in Lenasia, Kliptown, Eersterus, KZN, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Limpopo, everywhere there is a footprint of my heart, everywhere in South Africa. We all matter! Why don't we go back to our communities and make sure that those who are born in the same communities we were raised are educated, safe, employed and supported? It is the same reason why in corporate companies you are on your own, because we as human beings mostly have our best interests at heart ❤ it's okay because we all make our own choices in the end. Let's live with those choices, or make a different choice that leads to a better peaceful outcome for all. I love South Africa, especially the youth and vulnerable. Most of us cannot emigrate, it's up to each of us to stand up and form a new pathway in our lives, well, I plan to do just that but I can't do it alone and it's not only for me. May God continue bless South Africa and all her people. May our Heavenly Father continue to lead our hearts in service of one another 🇿🇦 thank you to the creator of this video for condensing the plight of our people. This is but ONE viewpoint, I want to confirm that not all coloured people are drug dealers, gangsters or useless, some of us are innovative leaders, scientists, athletes, parents and teachers. We are all children of God in our rainbow nation, can we please stand up for one another for a change? No matter where we come from, which religion, nationality, race, colour or creed we are? The sooner we realise that life is lived once on earth, and you are given one chance to do it, the sooner we will cherish every moment and hopefully see ourselves in one another.
I went to school in Coronationville from 2004 - 2006 (Grade 10 - 12). Leaving the Westbury train station each morning and walking to school was the scariest thing you could do alone. There was always safety in groups (meaning that, you do not dare arrive with the incorrect train). Even though I did that trip daily, this video has unlocked a certain fear in me that I didn't know existed. Well narrated video bro, properly researched and brilliant editing.
Very good documentary. It was well narrated and perfectly edited... The only thing I disagree with you is the geographical area of these townships. While Westbury is indeed in West of Johannesburg, Eldos is located in the South, close to Lenasia and Pimville... You also forgot to mention Newclare, Coronationville and Claremont, which are all adjacent to Westbury. Although not related to what's going on in this particular gang war, there was also gang violence in Reiger Park, located in the East Rand... The Terrible Dogons and Sour Boys gang are arch enemies in that area.
I live in eldos and many of my friends are in both gangs, everyday we are losing friends , brothers and fathers we are forced to live lifes we dont wanna 😢
Growing up In Eldorado Park, I lost a lot of brothers through gun violence and It's not something I wish anyone should experience, seeing people get shot or hearing one of the brothers getting killed is not good. The kids today are having guns and we do need intervention. Today I don't go to Westbury because it doesn't want, I don't live in fear because it's my people. I just wish we could have more of us focus on good living and not kill each other
He did say say before elections that if given the minister of home affairs or police he will do the job as soon as he Swon in and the start of his office , gangster all over Capetown would be the history of the past or illegal immigrants would be running like horse
And to think when finch came out of jail he was first hiding out in South Hills..My cousin had a fast food shop there..She always said she does want him coming with his gang members buying kotas from her😂😂😂

One thing that's for sure is Death is sudden & Death is certain .People are born & people die , But that does not mean we must now use the loss of our family members & friends as a sort of bragging point to say how bad we are .Rather we must learn from those that we have lost & their mistakes .We must carry their names forward by changing our lifestyles & bettering our quality of life .
Definitely I once dated in El dorado park I'm from Soweto DK gangs they once told me that it must be the end that they see me here I then decided to stay away from the girl to save my life eish this area is not for the weak
You do know this problem goes as far up to the police commissioner as well as government officials who benefited from the proceeds and turned a blind eye leaving the war to escalate to what it has become to today
There’s so much more that you could have covered Finch and Keenan only came recently on the scene There’s so much more leaders who were involve with this current drug turf war, but it’s not only about drugs and corners Some of these gang fights are family related whereby someone takes out someone because their father murdered their father, this thing is deeper than just about drugs and corners I enjoy your documentaries
I may be wrong, and I do stand to be corrected. But I think darkening the edges forces the mind to listen more to what's being said without getting lost in the visuals.
Can you please have a documentary on positive things that are happening in coloured community every time if there a documentary it's about coloured and gangs
Lol government interventions? Somehow the government is gaining from all of this. Its like usa nd mexico situation, usa is nothing without the cartels. Same here in mzansi
l think these are small fry to Cape Flats gansters. here they are so serious that in some of the metro train stations trains dont stop barred by gansters in the area in exchange of protection fee from metro to have trains stopping and operating at Bonteheuvill and Lavis town. The police or the defence force and other provential security agents are quite about this. Guns shoot outs in Manenberg are a regular occurrence. Elsie's has its great share of gangsterism Hanova Pack Wynberg e Retreat Mitchells Plain and many other coloured areas are gang infested. Even in the black townships you get some gangs operating demanding protectoin fee. Gangsterism if it cannot be stop by state authorities . It is possible to have Haiti here in RSA morever that those in politics are not concerned and all they are doing is protecting white minority capital while they are enriching themselves by corrupt means. Most of the gangster who have some lights point on the corrupt government for their flarishing. They claim that drugs get inti the country through corrupt government officials. IT lS SCARY
We need to help ourselves. Stronger parenting by fathers and family values will help. Added to this, men standing together to fight this curse. We have a really bad reputation of crime and drugs throughout SA.
I listened to this and thought he would do a decent job of delving into the hit against 28s Gang Boss Ernie Lastig Solomon that was taken out in Boksburg around 2020/2021 during a fall out with his nephew Voudie over leadership of the 28s gang Terrible Josters
Nigerians became trading partners with these gangs. These gangs make 33 million Rand a month. They store the cash on pikitup bins full of cash. That’s y the business won’t die any time soon.
Maybe do an interview in your video just don't shoe faces and also alter the voice....our kullid children are dying DAILY maybe it is government plan to erase the kullid nation by keeping them busy with Drug peddling and fighting over territory INSTEAD of EDUCATION AND PROGRESS 😢😢😢
You must be joking 😂 😂 😂. The government has nothing to do with this. It's a culture thing. Everywhere where there are coloured people in numbers, such things happen. Do not blame the government. Look at yourselves and fix yourselves. Take accountability and responsibility.
