    The democratically elected president of El Salvador has done the impossible and South Africa needs to follow suit and this can be done. However, the political leaders need the balls to ignore the western "human rights" NGOs in South Africa and go for the gangs. All the gangs are known by the local communities where they operate. President Nayib Bukele has done it in El Salvador and the murder rate has gone down by 95%. It CAN BE DONE!!!

    • @mandlenkosihlazo977

      Gangsters don't want opportunities or inclusion, they want power. In El Salvador they were offered all sorts of opportunities but still wanted the gang life...Bukele is doing very well and,as you mentioned,he dealt with problematic laws,judges and journalists first before going after the gangs..Its difficult to deal with crime if you have people always shouting about human rights..He hounded all the problematic journalists out of the country..Thats how it's done.

    Solution SIMPLE and the following a matter of must:
    First revisit the constitution and also alter more on the lenience there in our judiciary.
    a) Outlaw Gangsterism, with all sound evidence, the sentence for that should 20 years without any parole but hard labour.
    Get tougher on anyone found with unlicensed fire arm, such elements must lose 50 percent of their rights immediately after arrest effected, in this case give police more powers to conduct tougher interrogation, sentence must be effective 10 year without parole, harshest hard labour.
    With sound evidence, drug syndicates must get life and no visiting right, they should be forgotten alive.
    Murderers and rapists with all satisfactory evidence must get death sentence within a space of three to four months.
    We must be a tough highest security no nonsense type of state, this will stop this mess in no time, if we don't.., nothing will serve as a deterrent.

    The Department of Education should also take its share of the responsibility in this issue. Forcing learners with learning difficulties into the main stream and not having technical schools in all districts nevermind small towns. Learners get frustrated cs they can't read and write and can't get the special attention they need and drop out of schools and the easiest ways to make money is to sell drugs cs their chances of getting a job is almost zero. But if they got the help they needed to finish school and or terciary education they would have probably made different choices

      @lyndonjacobs5264 Рік тому +1

      The issue is that as a community we do not sort ourselves out. Yes, we shouldnt be relying on government. We know who the gangsters are. We should wage war against gangsters as a people. Until we do that, nothing will be solved, because coloureds will care more about the support we get from gangs rather than ratting them out. Also, the police are involved with the gangs so we need to put pressure on government to clean up the police station.

    @andilesishuba2159 Рік тому +1

    Firstly, black boys are dying. In my hometown people get stabbed, not shot at but stabbed to death. Those who can afford guns will buy guns those who can't will use a knife.
    Secondly, there is a serious conversation to be had between "blacks, coloreds and Indians" because the squabble between these three only satisfy a specific race as it promotes division. Granted that the economy at the moment is shifted in the direction of "blacks" however please bear in mind as well that a "White" person will still deems a "Colored" as better than a "Black" person purely on the basis of them speaking their language. There is a very systematic and methodical manner of destruction and getting to the core of it will never happen for as long as we work seeing each other as a hindrance.
    Thirdly, listening to all three gentlemen who are ex-convicts, each one bares a different reason for having ended up in a gang. Whether dor economical reasons, for a sense of belonging, for immediate financial gratification, etc. all of their experiences cannot be invalided by someone else's experience. Witbooi mentions parents sometimes knowing their kids are in gangs. I know this to sometimes be true. Sometimes it isn't about being told "oulady, I am in a gnag" but about reading the signs.

    • @JohnTerblanche-l1r
      @JohnTerblanche-l1r Рік тому

      In my humble opinion your 2nd point is way out of line. The economy is not 'shifted' toward black people, there are literal laws in place so that they benefit the most because they suffered the most in the past. And your comment on white people respecting colored people more because they 'speak their language' is a racist viewpoint. To prove this, put 3 SA's in a room. One is white Afrikaner, another a colored Afrikaner and the third is IsiXhosa. People look at what they have in common with others, ive been told. So OBVIOUSLY the first two will stick together cause they speak the same language.(they understand each other).

    How blind have we South African's become to allow a government position to be fillfed by a person whom clearly has no overview or any sort of understanding to the demographic and cultural influences that impacts socio-economic changes within our country. I am open to working intermitly with our international Allies but there is certain lines one can and cannot cross and we can't say that the reason for that person filling the position is because we have no sufficient skill set requirements within our own backyard that could fill the position and I believe would be better suited to fulfilling the position. Positions of Governance and Social Developments, Civics is a big NO NO when it comes to acquiring outside assistance from Allies no matter colour or creed.The person has to be a third generation South African before those positions are open to them. We need to ensure some sort of law governs this or else its risk to the integrity of our national interest being met and not having it manipulated in anyway. Our government needs to grow up and serve the peoples interest first and not lead us to a position where we cannot articulate our view and interpretation to values and morales in the global community and for us to make a decision not influenced by either Blocs of Partners as a independent community in Africa that makes its own decision on our own moral grounds and not the narrative of the day from either bloc. P.S. I have nothing against the foreign social economic scholar from our Asian Ally and I greatly respect the country as I fully understand where they come from, the chains they broke to get where they are and support independence of our Ally and will not influence the great nation. In the same breath and with hope to a equitable future based on self respect,understanding and mutual benefit for all I believe that the nation will do the same and will not subtly influence there allies political and social makeup especially in this direct fashion which I am not liking and disappointed in seeing be practiced at this point by our Ally.

    The youth has too much time on their hands and that's when the Devil creeps in. Taking Nothin away that Pound for pound , colourds do suffer slightly more than any race(it is only an opinion) BUT IN THE Same vain FIGHTING AGAINST Crime POUND FOR POUND Colourds do Less THAN AnY other race to Address social and economical problems. They barely address the gangs that are roaming the streets, they know who's who in the zoo (who's causing the problem) but turn a blind Eye AND THAT IS THE TRUTH GAYTON. I do think though that the cause of the complacency, which I also think is in the black communities, are two things. The first is drugs. They cause gangsters to do insane things because of this. The complacency is caused by what Steve Biko mentioned when discussing Black Consciousness, the inferiority complex of Black People. (He considered all non whites as black). There is an inherent psychological problem in these communities that whites are superior and non whites are inferior and this infects the mental state and renders people powerless to rise above their situation. Its sad to see.
