- There is a sleepy little town in Iowa called Burr Oak. It is in the heart of Amish country and in it there is a hotel where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived for a short time as a child. Join me as we check out the building and learn even more history about Laura Ingalls Wilder.

@TommyTravels no problem I love your videos
My cousin, who is not a LHOTP fan, was on a road trip in Iowa. My cousin didnt know Im a huge LHOTP fan! Im really knowledgeable about the books, site, and tv series. She took selfie in front of this hotel 5 years ago. I didnt know she was doing a road trip in Iowa for some reason- she lives in L.A
.. She texted the photo of a selfie of her in front of the motel and asked"where am I?" I immediately texted back- Ingalls hotel Burr Oak! She was shocked! I told her I had seen it in some lhotp book many years ago. It was in bad shape, and they restored it
Love this fun video!! Smiled all the way through it
Ohhh, that's Awesome! I was on my way home from another adventure. I saw the sign and decided to make the turn at the last possible second. I'm sure glad I did and thank you so much for watching!
This is a great video, so cute and fun! My great aunt lived in decorah and when we visited her from NJ, we took a drive at my insistence, to Burr oak. I loved being where Laura had been. Hard to explain that connection so many have with the ingalls family. I remember just being astonished at how small everything was. Three to a bed! It's a great place to visit
Yes, I remember I was on my way home from and adventure at The Field Of Dreams and I saw that sign to turn and see the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. I just decided to turn in at the last second and I'm so glad that I did! That was such a fun tour and so informative. Since then I've also been the Walnut Grove MN location and that place was amazing as well!
I’m so glad I found you today and subscribed. God bless and absolutely love your channel!

Yes, it was a cool place to check out
2:04 there is a house EXACTLTY like this Burr Oak Hotel in a small town in California Gold Rush country along Hwy 49. Exactly! Built in 1850s-60s probably. I wonder if someone bought blue prints from same place this Burr Oak hotel? I think the town is Sonora, or Columbia CA. Ill have to look at my Shutterfly account. All those Hwy 49 towns in Nor Cal popped up 1850s from Gold Rush! They filmed a few episides of the TV series Little House up there for historically accurate architecture, court.
nice video, little house on the prarie was my fav show growing up,the song on little house series i think was wrote in far northern ca,by a man that lived on the prarie in lassen county ca,new friend here.

Nice filming Tommy! The Ingalls family sure did travel a lot and it’s interesting to see all the different places they went. I like the piano and bell. Think I’d be a bit too tall for those upstairs rooms lol. Thanks for the tour!
I was on my home from the Field of Dreams and I just saw the sign for this place about 50 ft before the turn. I had no idea that I was going to do this adventure but I'm so glad I did! Thanks so much for watching!

Charles Ingalls a nut job! Moving constantly. Ma finally said "enough!!" Why on earth would you settle in desolate DeSmet, Dakota!!!
Sorry, but male narrator was too giggly for me
