    I used those same spacers on a 4Runner. Didn’t use them for long at all, but they never gave my any concerns or issues. I had so much loctite on them it took a beating to get them off. Took them off because it’s a pain to remove them anytime you have to pull your brakes off

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  3 роки тому +6

      I went sparingly on the loctite cause i didn’t want any issues getting them off later.. it’s funny how most people are scared there going to fall off, but interestingly enough it’s actually hard to get them off if you installed them correctly.. 👍🏼

    I got some new 1.5" wheel spacers for my FJ Cruiser lol. If you get good quality hub centric spacers and make sure everything is torqued to spec there will be no issues.

    I know a guy with two 80 series Cruisers, one Toyota and one Lexus. He’s had both with 35’s on SpiderTrax wheel spacers for years. You’ll be fine.

    I agree about spidertrax. Only spacer i'd put on my 4runner. Hubcentric and chromoly steel studs. I'd trust it with my life! Had to pay almost 300 bucks for a set of 4 but it was worth it. Going for a conservative build like yours, most guys run 33s on the 3rd gen 4runner i'm going 32's with no lift for awhile.

    Wheel spacers are as safe as the the wheel itself, which if you don't fit them correctly will fall off... The simple thing is check them regularly, reapply threadlock every time you check them, remember they do put more forece on the bearings, that's physics. The dimention that is also required for correct fitment is correct backspace, so the distance from the inner face of the rin to the mounting face, this is what spacers are actually designed to compensate for. but most people think they just allow a better turn radius so fit them.
    Also worth bearing in mind in some countries they are illegal to use.

    I'm somewhat new to the whole car mod thing. I want to add spacers on my 08 tundra but all I have is a regular wrench set. So you have any recommendations on a wrench set that shows the torque you are using?

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  Рік тому +1

      Any half decent torque wrench will do, but you definitely want to torque wheel spacers.. also, it’s super important to buy quality wheel spacers, your life could depend on it.. i just have a Husky torque wrench, but even the Icon ones from Harbor Freight are pretty decent..
      Here’s the link.. let me know if you ever get spacers, and how the installation went.. 👍🏼

    Have you noticed any handling difference?

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely none, it might have even improved a bit because of the wider “stance” for lack of a better term.. It handles decently for being a 5,300 lb behemoth on 33’s.. but nothing to write home about.. As far as improvements in the Looks Department.. 1000% better.. • @arminius301

    Would anyone know whether 1" spacers will allow the lug bolts to clear the spacer recesses on a 2012 Tundra setup. I want to keep the spacer width to a minimum to prevent stress on the wheel bearings that the Tundras are known to have issues with. 1.25" would look better but I'd try the 1" if the lug bolts clear the spacer without hitting the hub and having to shave the bolts. Anyone tried this without issues?

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  3 роки тому +1

      From what i have read on some forums, you shouldn’t have any problems at all.. i agree the spacers are no good for the wheel bearings, but a 1 inch spacer would definitely make it look a little better and probably won’t compromise wear too much.. go for it.. 👍🏼
