- It is often thought that a claim of Davidic lineage is very incredible and seemingly points to him as the Messiah or Mashiach. This is what happened in the lineage passages in Matthew and Luke of the Christian Bible, the New Testament in the Gospel accounts.
But does it necessarily identify one as the Messiah? How is lineage proven? Does it matter?
Rabbi Rafi Mollot explains that much of lineage is based on Oral transmission and claims and anyone can make the claim and will never be able to prove it. The evidence is not about writing David’s name and drawing a line to link yours together.
So what does this mean then?

For a while I use to think Yehuda Glick could be, yet my son in law laughed. (he has red hair).
And also, the True Jewish Messiah will be heralded by the Prophet Elijah, as stated at the end of the book of Malachi. So...until we hear from Elijah, anyone who claims to be the Jewish Messiah is LYING!! .
Yes when I read I the Nt they were suspicious of jesus then he showed familybrecords and they believed him I was shocked. Why would you believe all that. Even if he is descendant that doesn't make him the guy at all. Seemed pathetic too like it was just trying to prove so hard
Only the 2 lineages in the Greek Testament are meaningless. Both lineages given are from the wrong line to begin with. Also, lineage is only through the father's tribe. Xtions claims preclude it ALL. He accomplished nothing the real Moshiach MUST do, and there is no such thing as a second coming nonsense the church made up.

No you are blinded by jealousy and anger at G-d. Don't try attack his children. Like all past empires mentioned that won't get you anywhere. Try calm down and seek to be more congruent with and closer to G-d. The only path to true happiness. We are here to be a positive force in the world. Not something anyone should try fight, for their own sake. And don't worry when we don't live up to our mission we are punished worse than anyone else due to our greater responsibility. But we will always be preserved, forgiven and not lose what has been promised us forever. Try dream about something slightly possible. Against G-d's wishes and plan has no possibility and isn't worth wishing for.
