NBA: Nuggets, Celtics prepare for preseason games in UAE | ABS-CBN News

The 2023 and 2024 NBA champions are set to face off in two international preseason games in the United Arab Emirates capital city of Abu Dhabi.
The 2022-2023 champions Denver Nuggets are led by Serbian Nikola Jokic, a three-time MVP. Jokic led the team to glory alongside Canadian guard Jamal Murray for their team's first-ever title.
The Nuggets have added veteran guard and nine-time All-Star Russell Westbrook to the team along with another Balkan in Dario Saric.
Coach Michael Malone said the addition of Westbrook and Saric should bring the Nuggets back into contention as they bid to take the trophy back from the reigning champions.
This year, the Boston Celtics surpassed the Los Angeles Lakers to clinch a record 18th NBA title, their first since 2008, after forming a super team with star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown joined by guards Jrue Holiday and Derrick White and Latvian Center Kristaps Porzingis.
Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said his dominant team needs to show humility and approach the coming season with a new sense of hunger to repeat their title triumph.
The teams are set to face each other at the Etihad Arena on Friday (October 4) and Sunday (October 6).
Tickets are sold out for Friday's game, while only a few tickets remain for Sunday's clash, ranging in price between 595 Emirati dirhams ($160) and 2,495 dirhams ($680).
