Yeah me too. Perhaps down the road it will get a stand alone release. But we will probably have to wait 5 or 10 years so I’ll be picking up the LP in the mean time.
I can't wait till record store day thanks for the review. That's the only time I get to go to record store day .my local record store has donuts 🍩 and beer 🍺.
@@SDsailor7 Because most people in the vinyl community are stuck in the past and the few newer bands they listen to are progressive or "complex" bands. They dismiss any band that's too "simple" and they're elitist.
@@KevinQ1989 Well they don't have any idea what their missing. If they only knew about the concert album Queen of the Murder Scene they would understand how talented this band is. And even Error with it's social commentary is another great album.
I’m right there with you pal! In years past it seemed like they were increasing the amount of CD release and then this past April and now they seem to be diminishing again. And with the cost of CDs going up you’d think they would want to cash in and expand to another market and get more business.
Looking over the list it’s actually pretty solid. A few things here and there I don’t typically have as big a budget for Black Friday as I do in April so I’ll have to decide in the day what I want
I think I have six or 7 on this which is about half of what I bought in April which was crazy amount I hadn't bought that most from RSD yet. I think the reason they are dialing back on Black Friday as opposed to April's time. The competition with regular things and just the holidays, I spoke with two places in NYC that I normally get stuff from and they said it was very slow the last two years business wise with RSD on BF, in fact some still have a few things they cant get rid of. But this year many have said there is much less stuff, there is also ALOT of stuff coming out in general, you have some other sets coming out, like Queen, The Beatles have a vinyl set coming, George Harrison has a deluxe coming, plus the U2 is the week before and then on RSD, some releases in later October from Duran Duran and Tears for Fears, and in mid November there is the Linkin Park release which thought I was never a fan I actually dig the female vocal and I think this will be a big album holiday season. And also there are a few RSD releases that have a huge amount printed from major sellers, that is Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and also Noah Kahan all have 25-30 thousand printed up so they won't deal with the typical "flippers" who have no interest in these artists except to sell them ten times their price, with that many flooding out there it won't be possible. But like I said six or seven hit me on this list, Kacey Musgrave's being top of the list for me.
How crazy does this usually go? I collect all physical media from my favourite band, The Veronicas - RSD is pressing 3,000 copies of their album Hook Me Up for this event. Should I start camping out on Thanksgiving? How can I be sure my record store is going to carry the specific record I'm seeking??
There is no way of knowing if your record store will get the album. Even the store doesn’t know what it is getting until it arrives. It’s too late now, but for future RSD events, make sure to tell your record store that you want it so they can request it in their order when they place it for RSD. Then it’s up to the RSD people whether they send one or not. I’m not familiar with how popular the band is so I can’t say whether there will be a big calling for it or not. But if you don’t get one then you usually can go online to eBay after the even and someone will be selling it and you should be able to get it that way. Good luck, I hope you get one!
@@BrendonSnyder thank you so much for the info!!! There are 3,000 pressings and it looks like fewer than 3,000 RSD-participating stores, I live in a major city with a large participating record store so I really really hope they get a copy!!
You can call your record store and ask if they ordered it and/or if they know they will have it on RSD. Most stores will not know and/or give out the info because everyone is calling for all of the titles. But you never know, your store might tell you. It’s worth a shot. Then if one store doesn’t have it you know to try another.
People (like me) want the unreleased songs from U2's box but they don't want to splurge for the box. Just gimme the new stuff! I bet there are a lot of people who want the same. 20,000 will sell out. Mark my words.
Wish that Van Halen Dallas show was included in the Deluxe of F.U.C.K. Seems dumb to give it to us as a CD and DVD but not Vinyl until now. Like they literally have all the parts to have done a Vinyl AND a CD deluxe of the album. Seperately like Sabbath does.
I hate anytime bands group together different formats and make us buy both when we only listen to one. I’m a CD guy so I can’t stand when they include a vinyl copy of the album in a boxset that is full of CDs. That is why I skipped For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Of course if they had included more unreleased material on CD than simply the live show I probably would have bought it. But I agree with you that it would have been much better to get the live album as a stand alone deluxe edition.
Yup I agree. They Rock hard. I have seen them live twice and they Rock the house! Live is their super power. I have not seen anyone show their albums in the vinyl community. Oh well their loss.
So many grunge releases - way too many. The music style that kills all the joy and fun. Time passes by but Nirvana is still my #1 the most hated band of all time.
Tangerine Dream intrigues me.
Looking forward to the Echo and the Bunnymen 12" eps. I'll have to put them on cassette for longer play time. Thanks
I would really like the Van Halen live in Dallas on CD without having to buy the box set.
Yeah me too. Perhaps down the road it will get a stand alone release. But we will probably have to wait 5 or 10 years so I’ll be picking up the LP in the mean time.
Amazon had the VH For Unlawful… box set for $59.99 a couple months back so I scooped it up then.

Two other great rock/metal releases are The Warnings Error and Lacuna Coil eps vinyl
I want that Warning double record.
You are the second person mentioning the Warning no one in the vinyl community knows about them. And they are missing some great rock music.

I know it's called Record Store Day but I wish they would release more on cd.

Ok, thanks
About 20 titles more last year 2023 vs 2024

Thank you.
This in a RSD blk Friday I see myself sitting out so I can buy some stuff off my ebay want list. Just not anything interesting....
Same. Phew my poor pocket has been hit too much this year.
Sweet, another year without anything Johnny Cash related...
You should broaden the artists you’re looking for them you’ll have more luck 👍😂
Skipped THE WARNING. Shame!
Yeah they don’t do it for me. But I’m glad you’re excited for their release. 👍
I’m only interested in a complete whole live performance by The Warning on Vinyl/ CD ; my signed copies of Error on vinyl and CD are enough .
