This era of Korn.........that was just sick. Silvera had a vibe that was all new. I loved it. He and Mike Bordin were at the top of the top for me around this time. Both those dudes just fucking jammed 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I can always head over to your channel and just be amazed at the scope of covers you've done. But the fact you do them with such a natural quality is astounding to me Earl. Seriously mean that. Dude, appreciate you more than ya know my friend!
David Silvera...what a drummer!! Korn have probably the most unique sound in the history of metal and this album was such ahead of time! Fantastic job in the all parts Trey! Especially for keeping time perfectly without missing a beat👍👍👍
Andrea, I'm with you bro. Silvera was a whole new animal for me to watch and listen to. I was telling my buddy Bryan in one of the other comments - Korn continues to be huge and I do not think of Silvera and Luzier in the same light. I see them and hear them as two entirely different players but somehow they both fit like a glove with that band. It's just crazy to me they can be that stylistically different. Dude, have you seen any of the clips when Mike Bordin took over? If you haven't, I HIGHLY recommend it. Appreciate it and thank you so, so much Andrea!
Aw man, that's too kind. I'll put it this way - I am just thankful you were kind enough to watch. Anything that goes up, I just hope it's entertaining and might make some folks smile. So I humbly and sincerely thank you. Have a great weekend!
Dude Ray Luzier is such a unique and awesome drummer of our time and I love what he brought to Korn’s songwriting! You have his grooves down brother! Love the cymbal pattern and the outtro! I definitely want to see you tackle more of Rays masterpieces! You ROCK Trey!
Mike!!! Man, I do got to get to Ray's work for sure. I did one way, way back and it was a tune they'd just released. I was trying to increase views, etc. so I just hammered that one out as quick as I could. I still won't go back and watch it LOL! I'm sure I missed a ton of stuff. But, YOU are the one who rocks my friend! I gotta head over and make sure you haven't released a new one. I usually catch your stuff pretty quick but let me make sure. Appreciate you!

He has put together some of the most beautiful drumming I've ever heard. And he continues to do it. Can't thank you enough for the kind words and for being kind enough to watch. Hope you have an awesome weekend!
Man, I'm pretty sure it's the same for me. This is the track that I heard first. It was so raw and it just was one of those songs where the sound, the mix, all of it made me take serious notice. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you being kind enough to watch and comment my friend

Like I told you that bass drop hit me like a ton of bricks with my car subs! 😁 Just phenomenal work as always dude. That quick roll at about 3:38 was spot on! First comment! I love when you do some Korn, Trey! Ray Luzier is one of my favorite drummers and probably the best Korn drummer. I know some people really love David, but Ray has got the feel & groove -just like you did in this cover!
Bryan! So I responded to this already but I'm assuming I used the word fuck and it cleared it out LOL! So let's try it again. Ray Luzier is a dude that's high up on my list. I've enjoyed his career. First time I saw him, he was with Jake E Lee in the mid 90's and he stood out something fierce. And I was there to see Jake but left thinking "That dude is a monster". David hit me entirely different. Super skilled but a rawness to his playing & a different energy. So to me, there's two versions of this band. But what flips me out is I don't consider Ray and David remotely similar YET they both make this band go. Appreciate you and since I used the word fuck again, let's see if it allows it THIS time HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Heavy AF and cool! I used to see concerts up in Dayton Hara Arena in the early 80s. This is one of the signature songs of Korn and made me a fan of David S. I always love watching you attack the drum kit! Production quality off the charts man! 🤘
That was the place! I forgot that. I was in one of the Ozzy / Sabbath tributes at that time. We were playing a really cool club in Dayton and they gave us tickets since we were starting after Ozzy's show was done. So we got all of Korn's set and about 4 of Ozzy's tunes. Man, that club (and I forgot the name) will never know how much we all appreciated that. We had all these high hopes Ozzy or Zakk would come to our show. They didn't LOL! Appreciate ya Rich and have a great weekend man. If you remember clubs in that area, hit me back. If you said the name, I'd probably remember it. It wasn't too far from the Arena.

Yo DJ! I LOVE that outro! I haven't ever looked - is there an extended version that captures more of it? If there is, I'd love to hear David and Fieldy just keep cuttin' heads. It's a sick blend of metal and hip hop. Appreciate ya my friend!

Richard bro, I am so sorry for the delayed written response. LOVED David Silvera's work on those early albums. Damn did they have such a unique sound. Dude, the support you are kind enough to offer.........man just fucking thank you friend.
Man Marcus, it's such a unique track to me. Always has been.. That ride intro just lends itself perfectly to the build up of the aggressiveness of the track. And I love that whole first album. My friend, cannot tell you how much I appreciate the kind words.

@@TreyBDrums well hell, not to get greedy then but how about "Outshined" sometime down the road. Or maybe "My Wave". I got to say the UA-cam algorithm isn't doing you any favors. I search drum cover videos all the time and just came across yours the other day. I love your style. My "oh shit" moment was when you were pulling those reverse hits on the A in your Stillborn video. Rock on! 🤘
@@jboy65807 Shit man, ALL good suggestions! The algorithm LOL! That was an actual laugh out loud. I just thought "Nice to know my luck's about the same on here as it is playing live" HAHAHA!!!! Outshined - I can maneuver through it still so let me skim that. I swear man, all these songs I've done live, it's fascinating to truly put them under the microscope on here in an attempt to get close. Regardless of the algorithm, this is me telling you I'm damn glad you're here bud. And I sure as hell appreciate it!
Awesome cover as always man! That ride pattern looks like a friggin forearm burner for sure, but of course you nailed it no problem, which adds to my theory that you're actually a bionic drummer. Rock on dude!!! 🤘🤘💪💪
HAHAHAHA! Well that's incredibly (INCREDIBLY) kind of you to think that but I'm horribly non-bionic LOL! Mike man, for real bro - THANK YOU for the support so often on here dude. I fucking mean that
Totally wicked Trey I remember when this came out, really different for the time and I much prefer the raw sound of this and pretty all Rock music sounds best in it's raw form. Your drumming is always exceedingly impressive and this is no exception, deadly licks around every corner! Thanks for some top notch morning entertainment brother and much respect to you, cheers from Canada!
Jeff bro, I remember that too. They would have been the first in my mind that signaled this massive sonic shift. And honestly, the emotional side of their stuff is incredible. The same way when AIC showed up and caused me to drift over there, Korn showed up and I started instinctively toying with my drum sound. More click in the kick, a little less polished (not hard - I'm not overly polished to begin with). So it was neat to blend that new sound in my head with the Vinnie Paul building blocks I'd been messing with up til then. Live - they were incredible coming out of the gate. Think the world of you dude!
Hey William! I still love that song. I tell ya man, that ride pattern is a workout LOL! It's also got to be one of the coolest drum intros in metal. The whole song just builds. Appreciate you my friend and sincerely - thank you.
Yo DMAN! Man, I really got into this album but I didn't necessarily follow them a great deal from there. Just my way of saying I wasn't a hard core supporter but definitely liked the band and their vibe. Man, thank you so much for what you do and I'll get over to the Drummer's To Watch this weekend bud!
I'm as glad as can be to read this! And I mean that bud. It's a pleasure to just have an outlet to perform here and there so the support and kind words mean more than you know. Thanks so, so much!
Jason my dude! What up man? I just appreciate the support so much more than ya know bud. I need to get another couple off this album on here. I dug the shit out of it (for real). Hope you are doing great and have an awesome, awesome weekend!
Yo Bill! Man, you ain't kidding HAHA! Tempo has a great deal of peaks and valleys in this one. I just appreciate you being kind enough to check it out my friend! Hope you have a great weekend Bill!
I think this guy might be the only dude on the planet to always have the same drum key chillin' on a snare lug. What manner of sorcery is he using to not misplace it?
What up Frank! Well, I sure appreciate it. This is an incredibly fun song to play dude. And that intro is still - to me - iconic in its own right. Just so perfectly fitting for the way the song just builds in this massive anticipation. Anyways man, thank YOU for being so kind as to check it out and to leave such kind words bro!
Yo John! So this one was their original drummer David Silveria. It's crazy to me dude. I think highly of both drummers but I don't think of them as remotely similar. I really don't. Yet somehow, they both really fit that band. And it's mind boggling to me given that their skills are both up there but in different ways. One thing I'll urge you to check out - see if you can find some shows where Mike Bordin of Faith No More handled the drum duties. I think you'd dig it. Bro, thank you so, so much for the kind words and for checking it out!
Man, I was watching a video not long ago about drum intros. They clearly hit on Zepp's Rock N' Roll, Hot For Teacher, stuff like My Sharona and I was thinking "Hey, what about Blind?" Just the pure simplicity of it against what's coming in terms of the aggressiveness of that song is brilliant. Anyways, appreciate you my friend!
LOL!!!!! This is a worthy suggestion. Question - you think I should do the High School Senior pose against the kit? (I knew I could count on you reading that HAHAHA! Thank you my friend)
🤣🤣🤣 Well I'll take it! This is one I was happy to try. I'm a fan of both Luzier and Silveria...but I've got a soft spot for those first two records for sure. They were powerful AF. Had a raw quality but didn't lack at all in tightness. I still remember seeing them for the first time and my mind was BLOWN. Such a great band and so different. Appreciate ya!
Great question! And it's a question I don't have a great answer for LOL!!! From what I remember, I started raising my hats (way, way back) because I was trying to incorporate a number of stick tricks into my sets. The extra separation with the hats and snare helped with things like left hand flips going back. After that - I remember engineers being pretty happy with the hat and snare separation. There were some studios that liked the extra little bit of distance between the snare and the hats from a mixing standpoint. But the main reason is that I just got used to it. If I'm ever doing tunes that require quite a bit of rebound or really fast 16ths, I'll bring them down. I hope that kinda gives an answer my friend. Appreciate ya!
I could watch this all day long, it's substance and style perfection.
This era of Korn.........that was just sick. Silvera had a vibe that was all new. I loved it. He and Mike Bordin were at the top of the top for me around this time. Both those dudes just fucking jammed 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Man, keep up the fantastic work on your channel and I'll head over in just a bit to get caught up my friend
Wowww! excellent!!!!
Hey Mariano! I sure appreciate you being kind enough to check it out. Hoping to get some more from that album in a month or so. Feel free to throw out suggestions anytime. Appreciate you!!!
Drumming heavy and super powerful, Trey !!! 🤩👍🤘
Great drumcover, dude... excellent job... have a good weekends, my friend !!! 😎🙋🏻♂️🥁🍺

Back at you as always Paco! You took on a beast of a tune this week man. Just drove it and owned it buddy. Have an awesome weekend friend!
This was sick ! 🤘🏼🤘🏼 love the cover ! 🥳
Hey Amber! Back at you! Your These Days cover was as in the pocket as could be. Really like your style & it's been great to see your content coming regularly. It's a pleasure to watch you play. Have a great weekend!
Do you take requests? Would love to see you do "Cult of Personality"
I hope he does this one for ya!!
What up! Hell, your timing is great!!! I had it cued up and was learning it anyway last week so in this instance, sure! Should be in the next few up. It was funny to read this because I was torn on that since it's been done a number of times or Open Letter To A Landlord. Appreciate ya!
......Love Rears Its Ugly Head was another LC track I was thinking about
@@TreyBDrums well hell, not to get greedy then but how about "Outshined" sometime down the road.
Kickass cover
Hey William! I still love that song. I tell ya man, that ride pattern is a workout LOL! It's also got to be one of the coolest drum intros in metal. The whole song just builds. Appreciate you my friend and sincerely - thank you.
Don’t know much of Korn but this is some heavy powerful drumming! Keep rockin Trey! :)
Yo DMAN! Man, I really got into this album but I didn't necessarily follow them a great deal from there. Just my way of saying I wasn't a hard core supporter but definitely liked the band and their vibe. Man, thank you so much for what you do and I'll get over to the Drummer's To Watch this weekend bud!
nailed it
AWESOME! Glad to see this track from earlier in the year getting new comments! Thanks so, SO much for checking it out! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@TreyBDrums you have such a good style man i loved it✌🏻
🔥🔥🤘🤘 Perfect cover man ! You have the sound and your performance is awesome ! New sub here ! 🥁🤘🤘
I'm as glad as can be to read this! And I mean that bud. It's a pleasure to just have an outlet to perform here and there so the support and kind words mean more than you know. Thanks so, so much!
Amazing performace Trey 🥁🤘
i like the power you burn over the drum 🥢🧨
Jason my dude! What up man? I just appreciate the support so much more than ya know bud. I need to get another couple off this album on here. I dug the shit out of it (for real). Hope you are doing great and have an awesome, awesome weekend!
🔥🔥🔥They really change up the time feels a lot huh? Damn. Great musicianship adjusting to the changes and otherwise making it look pretty easy! 💪🏻🥁
Yo Bill! Man, you ain't kidding HAHA! Tempo has a great deal of peaks and valleys in this one. I just appreciate you being kind enough to check it out my friend! Hope you have a great weekend Bill!
@@TreyBDrums my pleasure. I'm a metalhead but never really checked out Korn. Not what I expected! Do you like Prong at all?
W o W !!! Big Like!!! 👍👍👍 Laya
And an equally big THANK YOU for being kind enough to check it out and comment Lajos! Hope you have a great weekend!
excellent😊
My sincere appreciation for the support 🙏🙏🙏
Nice!
I think this guy might be the only dude on the planet to always have the same drum key chillin' on a snare lug. What manner of sorcery is he using to not misplace it?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣!!!! The drum key is the star. But it does stay in that same damn lug 😂😂. Need to pin this comment
Oh man you totally crushed this great song choice.
Grande capó! 2.022 te escucho
Muchas gracias por ser tan amable de mirar. ¡Espero que tengas un gran fin de semana!
Man very very nice
Thanks!
@@TreyBDrums hey man how are ya, you been playing any lately
Killer man! Ray Luzier is underrated (Is he on this track?) anyway killer work man! As always. That kick is thumpin!
@@TreyBDrums Ill go check that out now!
Siiiiiiiiiick!
What up bro! My friend, thank you for being kind enough to watch and comment. It's a bad ass tune. Appreciate ya FCS!
XXX cellent!
XXX tra Thank you!!!! DDDo mean that JB!
Oooooooohhhhhh
Man, I was watching a video not long ago about drum intros. They clearly hit on Zepp's Rock N' Roll, Hot For Teacher, stuff like My Sharona and I was thinking "Hey, what about Blind?" Just the pure simplicity of it against what's coming in terms of the aggressiveness of that song is brilliant. Anyways, appreciate you my friend!
You play well. Greetings from Russia.
Greatly appreciated and a big thank you from Kentucky in the USA my friend! Hope you have a great weekend bud!!!
Very cool, thank you. You might consider a bill board to improve your self promotion.
LOL!!!!! This is a worthy suggestion. Question - you think I should do the High School Senior pose against the kit? (I knew I could count on you reading that HAHAHA! Thank you my friend)
Jamming so hard the video recording file was corrupting 🤘
🤣🤣🤣 Well I'll take it! This is one I was happy to try. I'm a fan of both Luzier and Silveria...but I've got a soft spot for those first two records for sure. They were powerful AF. Had a raw quality but didn't lack at all in tightness. I still remember seeing them for the first time and my mind was BLOWN. Such a great band and so different. Appreciate ya!
this is great but why are your hats so high
Hey Trey very awesome I made two videos check them out I think you will like them 🎶🥁🎵👍😊👏👊✌️
